‘Outlander’ Star Sam Heughan Reveals His Top Dating Rule

- Sam Heughan is revealing what he does for self-care. "Breathing in some fresh air could really help, even a five, 10-minute walk a day out in nature if you can, is so good for your mental health," he told Access Hollywood. That isn't the only thing Sam revealed to Access. While playing a game of Sip or Spill featuring his Sassenach gin, the actor revealed his number one dating rule and his first celebrity crush. Sam also talked about his upcoming book, "Clanlands in New Zealand" which he co-wrote with his "Outlander" co-star Graham McTavish. While chatting with Access he revealed why they wanted to explore the country and spilled on working with his close friend! Sam and Graham's new book "Clanlands in New Zealand" is out Nov. 17.

Sam's personality always reminds me of an enthusiastic golden retriever puppy. He's always so passionate about what he is promoting, and he is such a great advocate for all things Scotland. I wish these interviewers would stop with the continued questions about what men wear beneath their kilts. It's so lame at this point, and even though Sam tries to be a good sport, it's such a waste of a question and extremely tacky. I really enjoy the authentic camaraderie between Sam and Graham McTavish. Their Clanlands books and Men in Kilts episodes are truly entertaining and make me want to visit Scotland and New Zealand someday.
I agree with them always asking the question of what's under the kilt. He deserves better.

Sam is often impersonated by scammers and he warns his fans about them. I believe you are simply a person having some innocent fun. I encourage you to also live your life following Sam's example of being charitable and kind. The world could surely benefit from more good people like Sam. 😊
What is so great about him is that he is exactly what you see. Down to earth, curious,adventurous and funny. You learn as he does and that makes it more enjoyable.

i have nerver been in New Zeland or Scotland, in Australia three times, i think the new coming last part of the serie will be real interesting. the costumes in the serie are gorgeous, not only the ones in the french parts ( am French you see and live in Germany). I agree!!! A walk in the outdoors. I prefer no people around. I live in the inner city but I found a pier across from a Walmart. Yes!!! It’s not in clear sight but it extends out into the river. I forget about where I live.

@@coradejong1014 - Also had 2 strokes a year ago. Still take a capful of 'Sassanach'(sp?) every two weeks, or so. Bottle will last longer!

He is delightful and his interests are so varied but...
His incessant use of the word 'incredible' detracts from his conversation.
He says it about everything so it becomes meaningless.
He is far from the only one to do this but he is not everybody so I hope he drops that term and comes up with a variety of alternatives.
OMG with the kilt question AGAIN. His publicist should forbid any interviewer from asking that question in any interview. Some of these questions she asked would never be acceptable if they were being asked of a woman. Do better, Access Hollywood.

Maybe as Outlander filming comes to an end, Sam can carve out some time to nurture a romance and devote himself to a new chapter in his life. Of course, I also look forward to any future film, television or stage projects he may decide to tackle.
