    ---
Main goal of these video concept ideas:
My main goal for these kind of videos is to be as creative as possible!
    Let me explain:
    - Firstly, my very first channel Mixeli (But also my latest one Volipok) post tons of Gameplays from Every Generation (Which once again was played and recorded by myself in it's entirety. It took me many years of works.)
My video have Educational Value and let me explain why: It does provide help to the user who watch the video. One of the few example for that is which musics is played from my gameplays. It could easily be found on video cards (The exclamation mark "!" you see on the video above at the right) and vice versa. (This mean that on this video for example, you could also find my actual battle gameplays of where this music is played)
    - Secondly, My video are transformative enough, I took the time to play the game and recording the musics. I took the time to improve it's original quality using Vegas Pro. Thanks to a program called "Track EQ" that you can find on Vegas Pro.
This program allow the user to enhance it's original quality and further improving it. This need concentration as each version has different audio quality.
    - Thirdly and as you have noticed: On each Generation, I use different background that I bought on a website called Shutterstock. (Which I have bought at least 336 pictures background, just so I can become as creative as possible and also work on a lot of different style using those background)
This kind of concept was created by myself since 2011. Today it has become one of the main concept of my channel that I personally created.
    - Lastly is to bring the community together. I have noticed that so many people are commenting and giving their opinions on the video, sharing their experience about characters from the game, confirming theory, saying funny stuff and I find this extremely amazing and interesting! I don't want their comment to be unnoticed so I have plan for the future of my content about commenting and sharing their experience on videos that I will produce one day!
I think I explained everything now. Enjoy and have a great day!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All musics, gameplay and content included within this video are transformative, creative, have educational value and this recording are from my own gameplay. I'm also the one that created that concept video ideas. No copyright infringement is intended.

As a Chinese player, I am actually really intrigued by these four. Since they are the Treasures of Ruins, all of them have some sort of ominous meaning behind their designs.
Wo-Chien is a slug covered in wooden tablets, ancient Chinese writing material before paper was introduced. Its origin connects deeply to a Chinese idiom: 罄竹难书 (qin zhu nan shu), describing people with so much sin that even using all the wood to make tablets wouldn't be enough to record all of their wrong doings.
Chien-Pao has connections with warmongering or wars in general. It being a tiger like creature could be related to 虎符 (hu fu), a tiger shaped seal that symbolize military command and authority in the past. Plus sword is a common weapon for foot soldiers of ancient China.
Ting-Lu seems like a combination of 2 similar Chinese idioms, 问鼎(wen ding) and 逐鹿(zhu lu). Dating back to the Warring States period (around 300 BC), both of these words means over ambition and hunger for power. Hence Ting-Lu is a combination of 鼎(ancient Chinese cauldron) and 鹿(moose).
Chi-Yu is a combination of jade and fish, coincidentally both pronounced Yu in Chinese. Jade is a symbol of wealth in ancient times and often serve as gamble subject for rich investors. And its animal part being a gold fish, an species of ornamental fish that originated from china, widely used as decorations for wealthy households and noblities in the past.
So these four represent tyranny, warfare, ambition and greed, very fitting for the symbols of ruination. But hey these are all just my guesses. :)

So, we are all in agreement that pretty much everything about the four Treasures of Ruin is amazing, right? Their whimsical yet intimidating theme music, their vastly differing designs, their incredibly unique names, their awesome-sounding, creative cries - all of these various elements actually have some much deeper meanings in relation to both the Pokémon world and our own.
But a little, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it detail that I just so happened to take notice of during my own playthrough that I also found to be quite interesting was this : the brief text that describes their cries right before the battle begins.
Wo-Chien : “Scriiiiibe!” - Before paper printing was invented, many various peoples of past societies would instead write by carving into TABLETS made of wood, clay, and/or stone. The people who did this as a profession were called ‘scribes.’
Chien-Pao : “Cuuuttt!” - Now, this one is pretty obvious, as one of the things that SWORDS have always been used for is…well, cutting.
Ting-Lu : “Poouurr!” - This one is also fairly easy to guess the reasoning behind. You can pour liquids both into and out of a VESSEL.

They also seem to have a lot of parallels and perhaps inversions to the Tapus from Gen 7:
      On being the inverse:
-The Treasures are portrayed as destructive invaders from other lands while the Tapus are protectors who have existed at least since the islands were born.
-The Abilities of the Treasures adversely affect everyone on the field except themselves, while the Abilities of the Tapus automatically set Terrains, which benefit everyone in a battle.
      For the parallels:
-The Tapus and the Treasures are both quartets.
-They all have the same base stat total of 570 - which, interestingly, all of the Paradox Pokemon except Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant have as well.
-Their signature moves, Ruination and Nature's Madness, are different types but have the same effect - halving the target's remaining HP.

Anyone ever notice that the colour of the stakes/gate for each one is the colour that it's weak to? Or that the surrounding area is its natural weakness? Wo-Chien is surrounded by a swamp full of Poison, Bug and Flying types, Chien-Pao is in one of Paldea's sunniest areas surrounded by Fire and Fighting types, Ting-Lu is in a forest full of Grass and Bug types, and Chi-Yu is stuck inside a mountain cave next to a waterfall. Shows how much people feared them.

I absolutely love this theme so much! Also I don’t know if I am just overthinking this, but I feel like the placement of the shrines might correspond to what could contain them better. Chi-yu, being a fire type, has water throughout the entrance and plenty of water around the general area as well. Chien-Pao, being an ice type, is surrounded by tons of rocks and is in a relatively hot place as well. Tiang-Lu, being a ground type, is in an area completely sounded by plants. Finally, Wo-Chien, being a grass type, is surrounded by tons of bug and flying types in the area. This is probably a stretch but I just wanted to know why were the shrines places where they are

    • @notsofreeexp9199
      @notsofreeexp9199 Před rokem +83

It's possibly like that because the people who thought about the seals probably wanted to put it around an area that has types that counter them so that in the case they ever got out, they'd be surrounded by potentially strong pokemon that counter them, possibly in hopes of distracting it before impending doom? But idk that's just my take. It seems like a cool detail though if this is the case

In the area where Chi-Yu is located which is North Province Area Two, there are some of the few pokemon that can out speed and one hit ko it such as Hawlucha and some of the few pokemon that can take hits from eat such as Blissey and Dragonite. Lorewise, Camerupt Arcanine and Houndoom can also stand a chance against Chi-Yu's flames
The same also can be said with Chien-Pao with Pokemons like Hariyama, Tauros and Azumarill in the nearby west province area 2, which is not excatly where Chien-Pao is(Area 1) but close enough, and the Torkoal in area 1's sun can probably help with the hailstorm that Chien-Pao will cause too
In the area where Wo-Chien is found, it is overloaded with many bug and flying types as you stated, and decent amount of fairy types considering that this is a early game area, grass type is also really common is the area and lorewise they can somewhat heal off the damage that Wo-Chien will do to the plants and battlewise they blank Wo-Chien's main moves such as Leech Seed ans Stun Spore(Yes I know everything is the area is clearly much weaker than Wo-Chien but this is clearly done for balancing purpose)
In Socarrat Trail, which is where Ting-Lu is found, firstly Honchkrow is commonly found and Ting-Lu's ability to shake the ground doesn't really affect it much, and arguably one of the bug type with the highest fire power in the game Heracross is one of the most easily found Pokemon in the area, lots of other bug and grass type which can stop Ting-Lu in its tracks are very easily found too, in fact, out of the 21 Pokemon that can appear in the area, only Raichu, Jolteon, Sudowoodo, Grafaiai and maybe Tinkatuff has a bad matchup against Ting-Lu

The 4 Tapus are the guardians of Alola, and protect it from disasters. The Treasures of Ruin on the other hand are harbingers for disasters. Chien-Pao's Scarlet dex entry says that it plays in avalanches that it causes just for fun, and Chi-Yu swims through magma it creates. Even their shared signature moves work the same. Nature's Madness drains half of the opponent's current health, Ruination drains half of the opponent's current health.

Mysterious and of foreign origin to paldea right off the bat, then cool scary suspenseful "OH MY FUCK LOOK OUT THIS IS STRONG AND RARE" plays

Example: The names given to the Dark legendary quartet and what they're based off , Mr.Hassel and the dragon trainers (dragons are mostly seen around a lot in China, even though there's other places in Asian culture that carry them), music that's sounds like something from China was played anytime you go over to the zone where you'll find the team star fighting type base, more dragon pokemon old and new have been seen a lot in SV...

Definitely some of the most unique pokemon in gen 9, and Chi-Yu is my favourite of the 4.
Tho as a Chinese and have heard of how westernisation use Chinese in a bizarre way, it honestly make me so hesitant to even pronounce these Pokemon (except for Ting-Lu, this guy is easy) as they can have more than 2 ways of pronunciation if you also include how non Chinese speaker pronounce these Pinyin with these specific spelling, which Chi-Yu having more than 4 of them due to 'Yu' can be either jade (most likely this) or fish depending on the tone oof
So I just occasionally pronounce them with the item and the animal in mandarin Chinese pinyin for the English name, and try to ignore the English spelling lmao
For those who are wondering, these guys' Chinese names are kinda simple but straightforward. They are combined into this motif of "ancient item animal".
Wo-Chien: 古简蜗 (gu3 jian3 wo1 - tho the 1st character must be pronounced as "gu2" here due to the pinyin pronunciation rule of two "3" toned side by side will have the first character had its tone changed to "2") or "ancient bamboo slips snail"
    Chien-Pao: 古剑豹 (gu3 jian4 bao4) or "ancient sword leopard"
Ting-Lu: 古鼎鹿 (gu3 ding3 lu4) or "ancient Chinese cauldron deer"
Chi-Yu: 古玉鱼 (gu3 yu4 yu2) or "ancient jade fish". Yes this is what I mean by similar pronunciation with different tones.
Side note: 剑(sword) and 简(bamboo slips) do have almost the same pronunciation of 'jian' but with different tones, but somehow the English name of the duo had 'Chien' which can sound different than 'jian'. Also 'Chien' does not exist in the Pinyin context, but the closest we can get is either 'chen' or 'qian'.

The Treasures of Ruin are the most interesting legendary groups we've had for a while.
