In my opinion Sir Bobby was the finest player ever produced in the UK . He could do it all . Left foot , right foot , header , everything with ease and class . Speaking about class he was the most decent of gentlemen on and off the pitch and was always the most humble of people of the highest order . As a Scotsman...what a player.. what a man...what came to mind for me was Archie Gemmell's goal against Holland...in the commentary...David Coleman.. with Bobby as co commentator...when we scored you can hear Bobby shouting "it's there!!...it's there!!' In the background.....that from an Englishman....RIP Bobby. Total respect.

It’s arguably the greatest footballing story of any individual in the history of the game.
There have been better players (albeit not many), and many players were more successful, but no player can have such a tragic and underdog, borderline Hollywood sporting life story.
He alone is the reason why MUFC are as popular as they are.

Sir Bobby Charlton was the core of Manchester United as a player and Director. He was simply a light in my life when l needed lt , goodbye my inspiration and the drive to carry on .

When I was a boy, playing football in the streets everyone wanted to be Bobby Charlton! The most elegant footballer I've ever seen, and his goals , well just incredible. A true gentleman, a man who's name transcended the sport and was hero worshipped all over the world. It s been the privilege of my life to have watched him for both United and England. Thank you Sir Bobby and no doubt you have already sort out DUNCAN!

My absolute all time hero, my kids had to sit me down to tell me, knew it was coming but he’s my indelible link to the past and all my family that have past. I had pictures of Sir Bobby on my wall as a little girl because I knew he was a good man and when his shoulder dropped....... that ball was going in the back of the net. Thank you Sir Bobby for all those fantastic memories over so many years.

With the passing of Bobby Charlton, I feel an entire generation of stars and celebs from my childhood are passing into history. People like this should be appreciated while there still here. In my 60's now, so lucky to grow up in some incredible sporting, music and movie times, amazing to look back on, but so saddened when these legends pass on.
A true spirit of United, his name will forever live in our hearts and minds.

I grew up in Liverpool and I supported Liverpool (still do btw) but as a kid, Bobby Charlton was my favourite player, I absolutely loved him. RIP Sir Bobby.

I wasn't born when he won the World cup in 66 or the European cup in 68...but as a UNITED Fan i have watched so much footage of him that he made me smile he Truly was Remarkable. To have actually seen him ona number of occasions was a huge privilege. A great player for his club and England and a huge servant to the game of football. He will be missed with his unassuming personality, a gentleman and class act. If only professional footballers today followed his example the press would have to find something else to write about instead of scandals and bad behavior on and off the pitch.

The word legend gets thrown around too much these days but Bobby Charlton was easily the greatest English player ever, younger Man United fans owe it to themselves to become familiar with his game if they're not already. Incredible player to watch, him, George Best and Denis Law were made of something else.
