Key thing to factor in about that is that Shiro Izumi (the guy that played Burai) was a lot older than Jason David Frank (Tommy) when these two shows came out. Shiro Izumi was in a show a long time before Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger called Dengeki Sentai Changeman he was a lot younger in that show (i think it came out in like the late 70s early 80s something like that.)
This was actually pretty nice. They could have used this sequence for the US Rangers getting owned, but parents have to complain. Never paid attention to Mei getting slapped; didn't see all of it like that. Saw it now and I was like "Damn!"
After seeing alot of Sentais now, the fight scene in this sentai was more imaginative and brutal for a kids show. This is what a super hero show should look like.

They jus added bad acting and sucky fights with the actors in human form. I luved this show as a kid, but Power rangers never happened. Sum might disagree or agree, but its the truth.

Wrong the white ranger or Kiba Ranger isn’t original at all. He’s from the Sentai series after zyuranger called dairanger. Also that’s where all the zords from season two come from as well. The only original ranger from power rangers is the Titanium Ranger from Lightspeed Rescue.
