Are you planning to build a full budget deck for this commander? Would love to see a sub $50 deck outside of the commander.
I also want to mention a nice include for this deck, Oath of Mages can essentially be a 2 mana phyrexian arena with potential upside but probably more of a downside (gain multiple cards per turn versus take 3 dmg per turn.)
actually. it probably wouldn't be that bad, since they can't keep targeting you. since the taget needs to have more life than the active player
My guess is that the damage from Rakdos Charm is dealt as the spell resolves, all at once. Each creature is doing 1 damage, but they are all doing it simultaneously as part of the resolution of the spell.
I would have guessed the opposite but thats is just a guess
So where are we at with the rakdos charm interaction?? My understanding of the way the card reads tells me that Mitch is right.
I feel like this goes into the 99 of Prosper.
Yeah no reason to run him as commander over prosper.
@@lostingreenbay It's literally a Prosper enabler on a flample body with a bonus of getting stronger when opponents lose life.
The only reason to run this over Prosper is if you're an Ob Nixilis fan or if you want to.

I have a different approach: lots of pingers and burn + several Fling-like effects that care about power.
Low mana curve and haste effects are extremely important for this to work. You want this deck to be explosive.
For sure an include in my Prosper deck. Reckless fireweaver pings for 1 each time I sac a treasure, so ob will just provide more value.
Just a slight note, reckless fire weaver does damage when an artifact enters the battlefield
Just wanna say, Mitch, that you've really made me appreciate a good budget deck. My current Tazri deck is insanely budget friendly, and it makes it way more fun. 🎉
Mana Barbs would be great in this deck!

I don't know how this card interacts with Mana Barbs because Ob Nixilis says "one or more opponents EACH lose 1 life". Does that mean that with multiple opponents it doesn't trigger because only one opponent loses the life?
@@whaleofdarkness Ob Nixilis will trigger whenever one or more opponent's lose exactly one life. The restriction is just that if a single source damages multiple opponents only only one trigger happens
@@whaleofdarkness You literally just typed out "ONE or more opponents" it will trigger off any ping to any one player, as well as sweeper pings, the way it is worded is just to cover all instances

Did you forget mana barbs? That would be exactly 1 life for each land your opponent tap right?
Pestilence and Pyrohemia, deals one damage to every creature and player for one black or red respectively.
Well. Enchatmets what triple or double damage from your source is kinda nombo, cause it shut things like bombarding and tremors. Also, no Manabarbs? The absolute golden pig of this deck?
I'm not happy Capenna was like a week ago and there's already a new ob cheatilus.
Triggers are not optional, if you are pinging individually you might exile your whole deck.

Is exiling your deck like drawing cards in the sense that if you can't draw a card you lose? If so, that is the only thing keeping this commander from going infinite with cards like All Will Be One.
Nope, exiling is different than drawing. So you could theoretically exile your entire deck, but wouldn’t lose the game until you were forced to actual draw a card. So in most cases, you should be able to drain the entire table before you are forced to draw. Unless an opponent has an instant or activated ability that would force you to draw while your deck is exiled
Personally I'd be cautious about over-using trigger effects with this commander as you might impulse-draw way more cards than you would like, and then have your commander removed before you can benefit from a robust turn around the table
You can still play the cards if ob is dead, same with prosper.
@@nbblerxc I meant more of not benefiting from a large commander with the +1/+1 counters and having too many cards exiled for you to play on your turn... the impulse draw is not a MAY ability after all
I don't think Rakdos Charm works like that. Even if the sources are the creatures, the life is lost all at once.
Thoughts on pain reflection? It does dmg at the end step. Meaning if you do one dmg it deals another 1 dmg, however it doesn’t do just 1 dmg sense it’s technically adds up?
My first game trying out Ob I got him to a 43/42 before the homie had some removal. Since then I've added kediss emberclaw familiar. Can't wait to give Ob another few games

@@eagleflies9515 he awesome, though I took it apart to build a Judith Carnage Connoisseur deck. I played probably 12 games with Ob Nix and yeah he will probably get put back together because he is very fun
@@e6staffsargeify do you happen to have a list for ob anywhere still? :) I'd consider running judith in the 99 but my playgroup might actually murder me for putting her at the helm
@@eagleflies9515 no I do not, I've never really thought of uploading my deck lists. The best thing I did when my Ob was still together was 1/1 unblockable creatures. Opponents hate having to use removal on little guys but they're almost forced to if Ob is in play because then your value train starts.
Super interesting commander like kelermorph but card advantage instead.
a few other *banger* cards you didn't mention: Manabarbs/Burning Earth, Kyren Negotiations, Pestilence
Last Laugh enchantment could just win you the game in the right situations. Like a massacre girl situation.

All the double and triple damage effects work AGAINST this commander 😅

I think Wizards is trying to push All Will Be One, ie trying to make it a chase card. That's probably why they keep printing one card combos with it. I think they know exactly what they're doing 😂
It says 1 life EACH, that means that each opponent would have to lose exactly 1 life for that ability to trigger. From my research it is the only card like it.
It specifies one or more so it triggers off single pings
What about Phyroemia and Pestilence? This is an amazing superpowerful and fun Commander

When its says "play that card" is that the same as saying cast for free?
No, it would always say "without paying it's mana cost" if it were free. When "play" is used, that will cover lands as well as spells.

Beserkers onslaught isn't that usefull in this deck, in regards to the commander by the time your speeding up the pings to get him to 11 you'll probably be getting him to 21 too. Then Gratuitous violence is terrible in this deck you want it to be hitting for 1, and now your hitting for 2 getting none of the benefits your commander needs, terrible card in this deck, it's counter productive, same issue with City on Fire obviously. Not sure why you're not realizing this while thinking of suggestions for this commander, it's not just a be carefull situation, it's a simply take a different card that approaches it in a way that does work, or does a different equally benefiicial effect
