I am proud to say that I can officially say my pantry got me through a tough time! I was in the hospital in mid December, then out of work for seven weeks. I literally only did one grocery haul in the last four months and my pantry was good enough to get me through. It is pretty bare now, but the plan is to use paycheck this week to stock back up. Also, Iâm a single gal in a one bedroom apartment, so I wouldnât say that Iâm a prepper - but that was also not what I was going for. I just wanted enough to get me through. And I did it! Four months! Go me! Also, looking forward to restocking this week! đ
That's amazing!!! You're pantry served you and what a blessing!
đâ€đ yay so excited for you. We just never know what is next congratulations đand
@@kathytrevino5932 that was me! I ended up with an infection in my foot and needed time off to heal and do hyperbaric treatments etc. it has taught me valuable lessons and I appreciate my pantry so much more now. (And my foot! đ)
@@shesinherapron it was an absolute blessing to me. I was going through a lot just trying to heal - and letâs face it, stressed with no money coming in. So it was such a huge blessing to not have to worry about what Iâm eating or not having enough food. Also, do you know what I did need though - that one trip âŠ. Coffee! Yeah, need to add more of that to the pantry! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
So happy for you†I hope you are recovered and doing well.
Before next April, I plan on going through my pantry and seeing what I need and start refilling it. We will be in the total eclipse area and the group of county officials are saying we could have a million extra people in our area to see the eclipse. They have told residents to have a two week food supply on hand before the eclipse, as they expect stores to sell out of food due to the high number of people coming in. They have also told people to stock up on water, as our water towers will not be able to keep up with the demand. Thankfully we are on well water. But I do plan to fill my pantry and freezer.
@Nancy Stewart Oh my .. it sounds like itâs going to be a period of bedlam for you local residents! Thank goodness you have well water and will have (by then) a well stocked pantry. I get that it will be good for local businesses but it sounds like it will be very trying for everyone else - good luck xx
Iâm in awe of all of your pantry storage! Such a good idea to be stocked up and prepared for anything. Great tip to be aware of what months certain items regularly go on sale! đđ»
I love your pantry .so glad I found your channel.
Iâm so glad you found us!
I'm happy to say my pantry and even freezers have saved me money in the past few months so I could stock up on washing powders, wipes, first aid stuff, personal care, cleaning etc. Instead.
Always so helpful Kimmy thank you
Happy to help!
Always great tips thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Just want to say thanks for doing this. †This is how I was taught 60 years ago to frugally keep my home. I have shared how to save and stock for years, but you explain it so well and can reach so many more people. đâ€
I love Winco. I am thankful to have that as a choice to shop at. Thank you for always sharing your finds with us!! You are so inspirational!
Thank you so much!
I'm so glad and thankful that I found your videos. You are such an awesome person for me, I just love watching your video and getting all your great tips plus you freezer meals. â€â€đđđ

Great prices on the manderin oranges! I love to just open a can and dig in!đđ
Oh yes!
I love the idea of powdered sour cream and cream cheese. I need to get one of those. Thanks for the video.
You can get other cheeses, buttermilk & butter.
Love these videos...
Glad you like them!
grea pantry stock always best to stock up when you can. lots of love to you and the family. xxx
so fun thanx for sharing
I usually take advantage of the Thanksgiving sales but this past year I missed out because we were moving. But, you better believe that I'll be stocking back up on my staple this coming season! Great video Kimmy!!
Thanks friend!
Great tips! I just watched Tawra's latest live (after the fact) & love your banter with them in the lives! Lots of giggles from me!! đ„°Blessings from South Australiađđš
That's a great price on the mushrooms. I haven't seen them that cheap in a while. I actually saw that you got some great prices on many things. I picked up 2 more 25lb bags of sugar to put in my 5-gallon buckets.
Smith's in Herriman this morning had a whole cartful of Stove Top stuffing for $1/box!
I get Dole pineapple, mandarin oranges and black olives at the Dollar Tree for $1.25.
Hi Kimmy! đđ»bravo!!! âșïž
Thank you! đ€
My favorite stores are Walmart market, Winco, ALDI and grocery outlet.
My goodness thats a lot of foodđź
Thanks! Iâm home school mom I need cheap ,easy ,healthy meals and snacks
We have Aldi's in our area. Always awesome prices, much better than WM or any of the other grocery stores in our area.
I love Winco, but have to walk a mile from the bus to get to the closest one to me. So I have to plan it out and how much a can lug home in my cart.
I'm very single but have always shopped this way. You never know when tough times will happen, but generally makes meals so much more fun when you have food in your pantry.
I love Hoosier hill products we have a lot put away
Do you like them?
Yes I have just about everything they make now. I find them on Amazon mostly or their sit, they have so much but whatâs better it all tastes very close to the fresh.
You can take can broth and freeze them in a seal meal bag
I remember case lot sales when I worked at a grocery store in Eastern Washington, but Iâve never once seen a case lot sale here in Georgia in the 30 years I lived here.
I LOVE winco for stocking up along with my Thrive Life. OFTEN my stores have gotten not only ME through hard times but also friends.
In Sweden food prices has gone up with 12% in the last year.
Iâm so sorry!
This is my type of girl. I am such a case lot sale person too.
Lol yeah like pasta going to get dryer?? đ just need to watch for bugs or mice getting into things mines a rotating pantry
Nice haul đđđđđđŻđđđđ
I use Hoosier cheddar cheese powder and I love it
So good to know!
I really want a review of the powder cheese, cream, and butter
SO curious......after breaking down all the stuff you prepp.......what is your weekly food budget?
I go off of monthly. Depending on the month. 800-1,000
But the food prep food is in its own $150/mo budget?
Kimmy, such a good video! Iâve yet to find a store that does case lot sales. Must be a regional thing?
Me too...and winco is an hour away
Our Kroeger does a case lot sale a couple times a year
It tends to be regional, mostly in Utah or areas near that state. Local grocery stores Kroger/Smiths/etc will often have sales that are the same price per can, they just aren't selling them a case at a time. Often if you know you want a case, they can either get you a case or two from the back or make sure to order extra for you to pick up.
Could you do a video on what a person should stock pile when itâs only them. I donât have a large family and I donât want to stockpile too much
Please do a video on the hoosier hills and the powdered butter. it would be great to see how they turn out and what your family thinks of it. Like can it be eaten just like regular butter or cream cheese or is it more of a add it to casseroles type of thing.
You have a nice pantry
â€
It would be great if they had sales like that around me
Sour cream, cream cheese and heavy cream POWDER? Never would have guessed.
Hi this is Christine from AZ. When are the Utahâs case lot sales. The Hubster and I will be in Utah in August and would love to pick up some things while we are there. I just love your pantry. I am using a linen closet and extra bedroom closet for my pantry.
Must watch for cans with dents.
I have a couple of friends that I want to give your planners to for Christmas. When will they be coming out, do you know ? I love the planner I purchased from you. Thank you. Great product.
In the early fall
You should do a video on how to do a price book.
I think you will be very pleased with Hooiser Hill. I have been buying their powdered milk for years. I cannot go through milk from the store fast enough so I switched to Hoosier Hill. I have used the Buttermilk, etc. They also have powdered cheese, have not tried that one yet.
I did get the buttermilk. I forgot to add it in the group.
The prices aren't what they used to be, but it seems likely that going forward, the prices will only get higher. Our "buy price" for things has definitely increased. (A whole chicken used to be a "buy" at $2.50/lb, now that "buy price" is more like $3.25 or $3.50/lb.)
I did not know there was cream cheese or heavy cream powder. Please use them and let us know if they work well or not. Thanks for the great video!
I wish I could afford to hstock my pantry like this.
đđđđđ
I wish we had case sales here. We used to but after the pandemic started they stopped and hasn't been any since.
I just love your stock pile, so inspirational! You always encourage me to do better. I watch your inventory videos over and over to get me going!
Iâm so glad I help help and help motivate
Hello Kimmy, just a quick note, Iâm in France with my husband on a mission not far from Clermont-Ferrand, looking for your friend Mathilde. Iâll be letting Michael know if I find her! Thanks for all you are doing! Great channel! â€
â€đHi Kimmie I love watching your vids. Especially 8 yrs ago (pre-braces kimmie)....they are soo real. I wanted to know if you've ever posted a recipe for Derek's turkey brine? We just bought a smoker and we're smoking a turkey for my husbands birthday. Have a blessed week and thank you for all you do to make my momma/wife life better and easier. Candy in SC
What wheat berry grinder do you have that gets it so fine ground? Thank you! Really enjoy these videos
Walmart green beans and corn are .50 ea. Dollar Tree has a larger can of mandarin oranges for 1.25. Sure wish we had more than HEB and Walmart here in south central Texas. There is no competition. They mostly match prices.
Never have case sales in our area, yet I look for below average/sales prices to stock on items used...
Wow. You got some great deals!! Esp the canned meats.. they are skyrocketing now
Kimberley would it be possible for you to make a honey and apricot glaze for a ham roast or with your own choice of meat simply delicious with chicken yum yum 8
†Luv This..do you have a pantry to stock all your items? I have limited storage space in my home and itâs difficult to buy in bulk.
I understand. Think of your vertical space. If you have a closet and can add more shelfs in that would help. Use under your beds. Raise your beds. Start thinking outside the box. You've got this!
I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in a retirement community. I use every inch of extra space for stocking up! I have a small pantry that I use for my daily use items. I took my walk in closet & turned it into a pantry! Added shelves, containers, & food grade buckets to store food. It has truly been a life saver for me to have things on hand & not have to run out to the store as often!!
@@shesinherapron YAS ok..got it! I appreciate your time and answer. Thank You

Never heard of those stores.
Thats one thing my country doesnt do is all the different canned foods. We have canned tomatoes, corn, beans, chicken, tuna, salmon and maybe some vege and fruits, But things like canned jalapenos and chillis.... I wish
Have you released your price book yet?
Praying Thursday! WOOT!!
What a blessing to have whole grains available at great prices; I have to bite the bullet and have it shipped to South Texas. Even though Iâm slightly jealous of Utahâs availability, Iâm grateful to be able to get it. I do love your pantry!
@@infjandcoping4614 Yes, I love them!
Macey's did not do well with their last case lot sale in Feb/March. The prices weren't that great for it. Hopefully the one in late summer/early fall will be better. My goal is to have a similar supply of food as you by next summer. Thanks for the great videos!
I need ideas on how to store all of this. Do a video please!
In a cool dry place.
You had that on camera I so would of exchanged that can
Shouldn't you take the bulging can back to the store for replacement ?
I think it comes down to what your time is worth. If the can was only 50 or 60 cents, it probably isn't worth the hassle to take the whole case back to the store to exchange it.
@@KellyS_77 Thank you. I guess I was thinking you could just take the one can back. But I understand now.
Where can I buy the food buckets and blue lids?
Iâm wanting to invest in some freeze dried foods. When you open them up do they instantly lose their longevity or how does that work? Iâm really wanting to focus on powdered milk and freeze dried eggs.
Do you freeze your flour before storage? This prevents pests hatching in it.
Found your channel again, congratulations on the weight loss you look great. Thank you for the great ideas on the pantry ideas
Love your show butâŠyou said you keep track of the sale prices how do you do that?
I don't keep track of the sale prices, I keep track of the base price. that way when a store has a sale you can see if it's really worth it. I noticed that certain times of the year certain things will go on sale. but I still track the base price to see if we're really scoring.
Ohhhhh! Ok thanks thatâs make sense! Keep up the great work you do.
Iâm curious if you make any scratch meals or do any gardening
Have you noticed that itâs very hard to find the canned tiny shrimp? I havenât been able to find it since before the pandemic.
Yes! Itâs impossible to find.
what do you do with pinto beans?
Do you plan on staying at your in laws long term? Do you feel like you have enough storage places for everything you need or do you work together with your in laws?
Our Kroger was out of canned mushroom, said having supplier trouble and didnât know when they would get them.đ
I bought some peanut butter powder but donât know how to use it đź
I add 1 tablespoon of water to one tablespoon of pb powder and add a splash of soy sauce. It makes an easy sauce for sauted vegetables (cabbage, kale, asparagus, broccoli, peppers, scallions, water chestnuts). So yummy!
Just curious why the dented can of meat had to be thrown away, is it not even good to use it right away?
No....no...do not use the can. It wasn't just dented, it was bulging. Something bad was happening inside that can, fermentation or bacterial growth or something bad. I would not eat it.
You can take it back đą
Okay, this is where Iâm struggling in my own storage.
If you donât normally use a lot of canned foods or your baking uses lots of butter and dairy, but you want to be prepared in the case of an emergencyâŠhow do you balance having the canned corn/canned beans if you donât normally use them (but will eat them in an emergency).
Iâm trying to plan 14 pantry meals in case of power outage or pandemic shutdownâŠbut I just donât typically use canned corn or beans, etc.
Can someone help me with this?
Plan for some basic dishes - maybe one a month if your family likes it? Chili can take - depending on how many you are feeding (in proportion): one can of black beans, one can of red kidney, two cans of crushed or diced tomato, one can of corn, etc. Meat if you have it (fresh, frozen or canned)... Want to stretch that? Add 2-4 cans of chicken broth to make taco soup! You can feed a crowd! If you don't use it all, it freezes beautifully.
Also, using some of those canned beans and corn...maybe (adding other things like corn chips and salsa, cheese, etc.) you can do nacho night! :)
Canned potatoes (or fresh), canned corn, canned chicken broth can come together with some other ingredients for a great potato corn chowder....
I love fresh... but I also store canned. This is how I rotate some items in.
I always have canned cannellini beans for a quick pasta dish. It's easier than soaking the beans.
Hi Kimmy. Can you tell me what you use canned ham for? I've never bought that before. In fact, I'm not even sure if they sell that where I live.
I have a problem with my pasta breaking when I put it in my food saver vacuum sealer. Is that normal?
Because then it breaks through the plastic and breaks the seal.
Try storing pasta in airtight glass jars instead
When you use the cream cheese powder I'd love to know what you think! I've never seen it. Very intriguing.
Iâm for sure film the first time.
Canned mushrooms a year ago were .47 at my Aldi. Now, they average $1.56?! Needless to say, we no longer buy them đą The prices are still very fluid on groceries. How do you keep up with the prices these days?
This is a weird question sorry, are u able to tie your hair up into a pony at that length? I've got really long hair and want a change and I really like your length but I need it to be able to tie up to keep it off my face.
Thank hun appreciate any answers you can give me and I appreciate your videos.
Happy Easter xođ
Yes I can
Iâm really curious how much mayonnaise will be. In my area itâs almost 6.00 if not a little more by now. Aldi just had their butter for 2.49 a pound with a limit of 6 so i got 12 by going back another day.

Are you taught this planning through you church or just your mom?
a tiny bit from the church. I learned a lot from my parents and research.
@@shesinherapron I've learned a LOT from the LDS food storage resources (and I'm not Mormon). What I didn't learn from them I mostly learned through trial and error.
