Judging from the back & forth DMs that came out in that court case it seems like Cardi didnt even want to sue her she just wanted her to stop the BS...Tasha K brought it on herself

I am surprised to find myself in agreement. I never thought I'd be on the side on Cardi B, but it seems like she tried to take the higher road and Tasha K didn't want accept her offer to just stop.

The last thing you want to do is lie under oath if you know the other side has all the receipts. Her lawyers knew what they had from all the discovery and depositions. Lying would just add up more to the inevitable judgement for damages.

As social media / CZcams matures and turns into a serious career like other "grown-up" jobs, then it will be more exposed to serious lawsuits like other "grown-up" jobs
CZcams will only get stricter with what can be said and monetized. My channel has been monetized and then demonetized twice. I know I do use a lot of footage from other companies, so I am not mad with the reason, but I am mad with the retroactive reversals after passing manual reviews. So, I am giving up on the thought of ever getting paid from CZcams and going in on sponsors. I know I am one person with a specific type of content, but CZcams will only get stricter and stricter.
I've NEVER been exposed to lawsuits in any of my "grown-up jobs."

This case is so bizarre because to Cardi's credit it seems like she genuinely just wanted to shitposting to stop and when it became clear the only way to ensure that was suing Tasha she went down that road.
FYI a few things worth mentioning here..
Cardi B gave her three chances practically begging her to take the defamatory videos down before going legal and each time Tasha K ridiculed her and goaded her into suing. Why didn't she just take the videos down? Because she was making so much money from them with millions of views.
Cardi B had two very experienced high-powered and high-paid lawyers from NYC. While Tasha K hired a criminal defense attorney who had zero experience dealing with defamation cases? Even worse several times during that trial the judge called her lawyer incompetent and suggested she go back to law school. Tasha Ks lawyer also failed to do what was required in order to file an appeal. And Tasha K still has to pay her lawyer on top of the judgement Cardi B won.
I believe Steve Harvey is now threatening to sue Tasha K over supposedly lying about him and his wife?

This case is the perfect example of clout over common sense.
Having free speech is one thing. But, saying some thing that falls in any of these arenas, such as slander, libel, defamatory, or outright lies is not protected speech in very few places in the world. You can criticize, lampoon, and make fun of people, but the moment you make false statements or allegations about someone, which could be criminal accusations, bad business practices, or an attack on someone's personal character with things that aren't true.
Many people made false statements against Tru:mp but they are above the law.
As the great attorney Mark Bankston once said, "Speech is free, but lies with cost you."
