      AutOdometer ~ A serious question! I was chronically ill and stuck 9n bed for over two years. My nephew started using my car to get back and forth to work! He had a car seat in the car for his child, no problem. HOWEVER...without my knowledge or permission, my nephew decided to use my car for “fun”...his idea of fun included trips to the desert with friends and...smoking (which I do not allow in my home or car)...smoking things legal as well as illegal...if you understand me. He was banned from my car when I found out. My car went from having less than 2,000 miles and looking brand new, inside and out...to smelling and looking disgusting! On the ceiling in the back seat in the drivers side...there is a FULL, black hiking boot print! He says he has no clue how it got there!, where the car seat was, God only knows what that mess is all about. I am scared to death to drive because if I get stopped, though I’m 55 and never even had so much as a speeding ticket...I din;t want the odor of pot to get me busted! Any recommendations to clean the inside AS WELL AS remove that smell? I’m too old and tired to go to jail. I don’t now nor have I ever smoked pot!

    Dude, take your sweet sweet time. You'll get better results, also use a oxy clean for both hand and machine. For best, 'Like New results, unbolt the front seats and do them outside the vehicle(get errvathang). Also giving you total access to the carpet, don't forget to do the same thing the seatbelts, door panels, and trunk. Scrub pedals and trim, I like using leather wipes to refresh the trim, then wipe w/ damp microfiber along the glass. I know the dash lights are majority 194/T10 type in GM, easy and cheap af to upgrade the clister and control lights with LED. Can get new headliner material and 3M adhesives/promoters from a craft store, new headliner is like the icing on the cake, full interior LED upgrade are the sprinkles, window tint would be the cherry(CA here). Cost efficient diy upgrades, that'll help sell it quick and probably get what you paid for it.

      @@AutOdometer just be careful about removing front seats. disconnect the battery and wait a while (c10-15mins) for the system to discharge. most modern cars will have weight sensors and airbag sensors (and god knows what else if they're heated/massage seats) in the seats, you unplug them with the battery connected and deployed go the airbags. (this is true in my car, a 2005 Ford Focus, the Mk2 pre-facelift as i live in the UK)

    Good review and instruction on the Bissell spotclean proheat. This extractor is without doubt the best of its price range. However, this model is not a hot water extractor as you describe it. You put in hot tap water yourself and the extractor simply helps to maintain it's temperature during the cleaning. 👍🏼

    What do you think about that Bissel extractor? I want to get Bissel Spot clean pro,witch is little more expensive and has more powerfull electric motor. Do you think your Bissel is enough to properly extract all of that dirt and water out of seats ?

    • @AutOdometer
      @AutOdometer  Před 3 lety

      It’s not the greatest but it extracts really good. I wouldn’t say any extractor under $500 gets all the dirt out. If you are looking for an extractor under $200 go for the one the detail geek uses. It’s the Bissel Pro with the rounded look. For an extractor in the $500-$600 go for the Sandia 5100
