Per quante volte io abbia ascoltato e guardato quest’opera nn mi stanco mai , ogni volta sono gioia ed emozione che si rinnovano… nn si può negare che, al di là del cast impareggiabile, nelle opere in cui compare Franco Corelli tutte le emozioni possibili, la magnificenza della voce e dell’interpretazione, sono lí sempre pronte a catturarti, a stringerti il cuore e a trasportarti nel sogno. This is a true gem! All Italians - Bastianini, Cossotto, Corelli and Stella with a famous Italian conductor, so not a word or a syllable mispronounced or massacred but all beautifully sung! The translation was superb! Possibly the best Il Trovatore ever made! Thank you so very much! ❤

What a great recording. Poor Bastianini.I believe he was quite ill with cancer by this time. He was my absolute favorite dramatic baritone ever. Cossotto and Corelli were marvelous here. Grazie mille for sharing this with us. Now,there are no opera singers who are remotely close to these great voices. Che peccato !

What a great performance of the wonderful " old war horse." Only one of the fillies, was not up to classic standard. It is said of this opera, that all you need are the four finest singers in the world. This unbelievably fantastic live Trovatore still majestically succeeds with three and a half.
Ich habe diese Aufführung heute zum ersten Mal gehört. Mein Kompliment, ein ganz außergewöhnlicher Trovatore. Phantastische Stimmen, Stella wirklich gut, Cossotto in einer ihrer Paraderollen, einzigartig, Bastianini war wirklich die Nummer eins als Bariton und ist leider viel zu früh von uns gegangen. Franco als Manrico einfach genial. Ich dachte immer, Bergonzi sei der beste Manrico - ich sah ihn in der Arena mit Cappuccilli und Lazarini - , eine absolute Weltklasse-Aufführung, aber Franco lebte den Manrico stimmlich noch viel besser. Leider gibt es keinen Tenor mehr, wie Corelli war. Die Oper ist viel ärmer geworden.
Sei tu dal ciel disceso…? Magari fosse possibile: L’UMANITÀ TUTTA godrebbe della vista della prestanza fisica, della inarrivabile voce, della perfetta tecnica del GRANDISSIMO FRANCO CORELLI ma nn meno del CAST ECCEZIONALE di questa performance: credo che si tornerebbe a GODERE FINALMENTE della GRANDE OPERA… ma è solo un’illusione e ci tocca tenerci ciò che abbiamo ai tempi Nostri😞
Tebaldi e Corelli magnifici coreografia insuperabile non come adesso che stravolgono tutto ho visto la Madama Butterfly con i pantaloni veramente vergognoso stravolgere l'ambientazione

What a great recording. Poor Bastianini.I believe he was quite ill with cancer by this time. He was my absolute favorite dramatic baritone ever. Cossotto and Corelli were marvelous here. Grazie mille for sharing this with us. Now,there are no opera singers who are remotely close to these great voices. Che peccato !

What a great performance of the wonderful " old war horse." Only one of the fillies, was not up to classic standard. It is said of this opera, that all you need are the four finest singers in the world. This unbelievably fantastic live Trovatore still majestically
succeeds with three and a half.

Ich habe diese Aufführung heute zum ersten Mal gehört. Mein Kompliment, ein ganz außergewöhnlicher Trovatore. Phantastische Stimmen, Stella wirklich gut, Cossotto in einer ihrer Paraderollen, einzigartig, Bastianini war wirklich die Nummer eins als Bariton und ist leider viel zu früh von uns gegangen. Franco als Manrico einfach genial. Ich dachte immer, Bergonzi sei der beste Manrico - ich sah ihn in der Arena mit Cappuccilli und Lazarini - , eine absolute Weltklasse-Aufführung, aber Franco lebte den Manrico stimmlich noch viel besser. Leider gibt es keinen Tenor mehr, wie Corelli war. Die Oper ist viel ärmer geworden.
Stella is the weak link in this otherwise fabulous performance. Corelli and Bastianini at the top of their form! Bravi!

Magari fosse possibile: L’UMANITÀ TUTTA godrebbe della vista della prestanza fisica, della inarrivabile voce, della perfetta tecnica del GRANDISSIMO FRANCO CORELLI ma nn meno del CAST ECCEZIONALE di questa performance: credo che si tornerebbe a GODERE FINALMENTE della GRANDE OPERA… ma è solo un’illusione e ci tocca tenerci ciò che abbiamo ai tempi Nostri😞
Corelli's fourth act is inhuman: how can he break his voice in that way, and then keep singing? Simply too much for this world.

Tebaldi e Corelli magnifici coreografia insuperabile non come adesso che stravolgono tutto ho visto la Madama Butterfly con i pantaloni veramente vergognoso stravolgere l'ambientazione
Non so se la Tebaldi abbia mai cantato Il Trovatore in scena. Ma questa è la Stella!
