I heard that Five Guys purposefully puts extra fries in the bag because it doesn't cost that much for them to make, and it'll keep people coming back. I wish more companies would realize that.

Five guys’ fries are the only fries I can count on being fresh. Not only do they label what potatoes they use(they pick a different potato world wide everyday) but they are all really good.
The fries are also cut fresh from potato’s every morning. The potatoes are rinsed, de-starched and then washed. They are then cooked in the kitchen twice, to get the perfect fry! Coming from someone who used to work there, everything is as fresh as it can be at Five Guys!

Five guys’ fries are the only fries I can count on being fresh. Not only do they label what potatoes they use(they pick a different potato world wide everyday) but they are all really good.
The fries are also cut fresh from potato’s every morning. The potatoes are rinsed, de-starched and then washed. They are then cooked in the kitchen twice, to get the perfect fry! Coming from someone who used to work there, everything is as fresh as it can be at Five Guys!

If you have a good team the fries are to die for but you gotta eat them asap. This was like 6yrs ago but when I worked there we had a specific technique that we use fry the fries and we had to log it, we did this multiple times a day.
If you REALLY had to work at a fast food restaurant, 5guys is the place to work at, they feed you(on long shifts), split tips and are pretty dang clean.
Also a former five guys employee, and yeah, frys everyday for free made the shifts more bearable

Bro the only cheap thing at Five Guys is their fries. They always fill up the cup to be full, but then proceed to also add 1.5x the amount of fries in the cup in the bag for no apparent reason and I love it.
Their burgers are way too expensive tho.
The reason is it’s cheap to make fries to make a large it’s around 20 cents depending on how many and where but it’s cheap as hell so they are never losing money

Bro I work on grills at 5 guys and the patties are all balled, pressed and weighed by the prep team in the morning, then cooked a specific way on the grills, well done and juicy. Fresh, top quality mince. 10x better burgers than any other ‘fast food’ restaurant.

Not that any of you will remember but McDonald's used to have the best fries that would probably still be king of they were still using beef stock in their oil. I live 5 guys fries, they remind me of fresh cut fair fries which are hard to beat but even saying all that, old-school McDonald's fries were the gold standard for a reason.

When Mcdonalds actually cooks their fries right, there just really isn't any competition.
Mcdonalds fries has a 10-minute shelf life. If you don't eat them fresh, they get stale. Five guys stay legit way longer. I've had those extra fries in the bag an hour later and while they were better fresh, they still were tasty.
