- Lat Pulldown Exercise: Proper Form & Common Technique Error
The target muscle is the latissimus dorsi (colored red) which pulls the humerus downward and adducts the arm toward the body (shoulder adduction).
The elbow flexors (pink) assist in elbow flexion, the posterior deltoid and the teres major assist in shoulder adduction.
The brachialis is more dominant in the pronation grip than in the supination grip, where the biceps brachii is dominant.

Ive done lat pulldowns wrong for 10 years. I did it this way and my lats immediately started growing. Nuts. Drop your shoulders first, THEN pull.

If you look at Arnold Schwarzenegger back in the 70's all his exercises had crazy swinging!
Well, if you go to the gym long enough, you will see people doing crazy things at the gym. For example, I have seen people doing the Michael Jackson dance after the set. Singing after the set. Lift heavy and swinging. Bench press 315bls with the bar came down only few inches.
Chilling after set isn't crazy. A lot of people hit the moves between sets. LOL. Egolifting is definitely a no no.
