There was this coach in his post-game after playing SC, said SC defense was the best he has ever seen. UConn has been held under 60 points in regulation the last 4 times they have played SC.
Both teams played with great heart and desire to win. You should be very proud to play in the National Championship Game . That is a great accomplishment !! Be thankful that you are young and healthy. There are many bright days ahead 🌞. I give Geno credit that he doesn't chew on referees or yell at players. He always keeps his composure and accepts defeat with class . What a great coach he is !!
I am not a U Conn fan at all, but with that said, Geno has carried on what Pat Summitt started for women's basketball. He has helped women all over this country. It's nice to see Dawn Staley help carry that on also. Paige is wonderful. She's a good kid trying to fulfill her life's dreams and she carries herself with class even when things aren't going as planned. An exceptional talent and I wish her the best.
what a crazy season of ups and downs. I thought the coaching staff pulled out a masterpiece of a season with what happened and the kids played their guts out. We had no bigs tonight. South Carolina was unstoppable this season. Haters are cracking me up. They made it to the finals for crying out loud.
I'll give the girls credit too. Connecticut didn't have final four talent this season and they had injuries. Yet they somehow made it to the final four And Upset Stanford. They had an excellent season
I am not a Uconn fan but Geno is a true professional. This guy is a great women's basketball coach. He is humble weather he wins or not. He is right, the portal is changing the sport.
@@rashoff I mean he was 11-0 and started back in the 90s, his first season in ‘93 and first title in ‘95. Then he got bounced in the final four in 2000, came back won it in 2001, then got bounced in the final four back-to-back years and then that crazy team with Sue Bird, Diana Taurasi, and ASHLEY Battle, that was a team that won 2 and they won another after DT left. So, they’ve been dominant for the last 25-30 years to say the least. And then Brianna Stewart’s class was just unstoppable. 4 straight titles with only 5 losses in those 4 years. I mean they beat my Stanford by 33 in the final four in the 2015 run. I was not a UConn fan but I was a bit Brianna Stewart fan after that.
You clearly are not familiar with his "humbleness." He always know the right things to say w/ his hang-dog face when they lose. He is one of the most egotistical, self-entitled coaches.
Westbrook, I love your game, your heart, and your hustle I'm looking forward to seeing you in the pros. as for the game, both teams made it to the big dance and the better team won congratulation to S.C.on winning the championship. God's blessing to all😇
Agreed, especially after Evina had to overcome a whole year lost to knee problems. I love Christyn and ONO, but they never fulfilled the potential they brought to college.
UConn: Losing is just as important as winning. You will be measured by your ability to learn from your experiences and become better than you were before. Your emotions are heartbreaking but necessary. The average Joe/Jane does not understand the amount of sacrifice, hard work and abuse you put your bodies through in a season and when that hard work is not reciprocated with a victory it can be devastating. Hold your heads high. Your fans are very proud of you and will continue to support you always. Get some rest. You've earned it.
Williams should have been on the court. Gino was out coached in every aspect of that game. And his answer to deal with it was to treat a senior player who led that team while Paige was out to the final. That team didn't get into the flow of the game because no one was making shots. South Carolina's intense defense didn't allow them to make shots. But what's even worse Gino didn't allow Williams to play through her struggles. The whole team was struggling. Why that coaching decision? Why bench Williams? Why humiliate Williams? Gino you messed up.
@@georgie5986 Williams is one of the players that got UConn to the Final Four, no doubt. However, she went ice cold the past couple of games from the perimeter and I believe Geno felt he needed Nika Muhl in the game to make some defensive stops. It's not an excuse, I'm just theorizing on the 'why's'. Peace!
dead non competitive game by uconn. s carolina was taller, thicker and quicker. they were able to shut uconn down without fouling. made 16 more foul shots. fudd, williams and westbrook combined for a whopping 12 pts all together. finally if paige thought this was tough this is the way it will be every night in the WNBA.
@@TheShyhem this is why you can't compare paige to taurasi an 18 yr pro. paige is not sturdy or intense enough. you couldn't push diana around she pushed you around. she won 2 titles with a lesser team than paige had. i don't see a long pro career for paige despite her talent.
@@joerusso4417 In what world are you living? This team is the least talented finals team in UCONN history. The Phee, Lou, Nurse, Gabby and Dangerfield squad that didn't win would run this team off the floor.
@@jaxonellis2995 when you get off drugs i'm comparing this team to diana's last 2 years. she single handedly drove them to titles. it's hard to even remember their names. plus the team you mentioned didn't even make the final game.
@@joerusso4417 Ok lets look at the so called talent of which you speak. Nika got DPOY and she absolutely cannot keep premier guards in front of her to save her life. Notre Dame freshman guard Olivia Miles was blowing right by her or running her into screens. SC guard Destanni Henderson shook Nika with a Eurostep so bad she fell out of bounds without any contact. NIka played 40 minutes against Oregon and had 3 pts. 2 assist and NO steals. She only looks good against weak Big East point guards where the best she faces is Park Lane at Seton Hall and she's only 3 ft tall. All year Williams and Westbrook disappeared in the 4th. Fudd, Williams, and Muhl had one basket each in this finals. Yuhasz has hands of stone and can't handle a pass to save her life and can only get a rebound if it happens to bounce right to her. Edwards can't stay in the game with out fouling out. Fudd for the most part has moments of brilliance but goes stat padding and camps out on the 3 pt line instead of setting screens and being involved in the offense. Other than Paige the only consistent contributor was Ducharme who played great until her head injury. Williams and ONO did not improve their entire 4 years. My point exactly was that the Phee, Lou, Nurse, Gabby and Dangerfield squad which mostl start on WNBA teams didn't make to the NC and was a far better squad than this finals team that couldn't muster an offense for two consecutive years against good defensive teams.
I love this team and their coach. As I watched them play in March I was impressed with the connection between the players that the other teams seemed to lack. That comes from a very good coach one that encourages the close relationship the players have with each other. Not seen to often. Will definitely miss the seniors next year and praying for Dorka, wow, she was fun to watch. Chins up ladies you are a strong team and Thanks coach for all that they have learned from you !!!
Good on ya Paige for acknowledging the Snr members who were the real tough luck consequence of a loss that can be a hard pill to swallow. Having been involved in the game my only cred would be Coaching above all others. So, I look at the obvious miserable disappointment and I compare their reaction to not only Stanford but Michigan etc. They (UConn) need to take this opportunity to learn from it and use this experience as the ultimate motivation to raise your game and challenge yourself to understand and use what you have found missing or not good enough then your outlook from any loss is an opportunity to enlightenment.
Gino is the only one who needs to learn from this game. He was out coached in every aspect of this game. He was frantic. And his only answer was to bench Williams. The senior who led that team to the finals when Paige was out with an injury. The Connecticut team wasn't struggling making their shots. THEY couldn't make their shots against South Carolina's intense defense. Williams should have been left in to work through her struggles with the team as they have done all season together. Gino messed up big-time
@@Kielyn123 In another interview, I saw of hers a few weeks ago, she was talking about how she talked to one of her good friends Caitlin Clark and how Caitlin just told her how jealous she was Of Paige and how she’d gotten to the championship and final four in two years and Caitlin has barely made it out of the second round in those two years, but Paige said that she said like “Yeah it’s great, but I’m beaten up right now.” It’s not an excuse. But a truth. All of them get beat up down the stretch of long seasons.
Frankly I think Stanford lost the game more than UConn winning the game. Stanford shot 4 for 23 (17%) three-pointers; they normally shoot 35% which is 7-8 three-pointers. Their backcourt did very little.
With all the injuries and adversities that the UConn team went through this entire season and still make it to the National Championship game speaks nothing but "CLASS" in this team. Congrats on a great season and congrats to SC for playing a great game.
Uconn overcame tons of what could easily be season-ending issues to even get to the NCAA finals, which is no easy task. Unfortunately, Dorka's fractured wrist in the finals left them without a advanced rebounder + solid outside shooter & defender under the hoop, which SC took full advantage of to win the game. Droka's long outside shooting range would have pulled SC's defensive bigs out of the key, which would have opened up the drives / foul shots for Uconn's guards a whole lot more. SC simply parked their bigs in they key, well off Uconn's non-shooter bigs, and smothered the smaller forwards and guards on their cuts & drives. Credit to SC for a well executed game plan against Uconn's biggest weakness in the finals. Credit to Uconn for fighting through the big size disadvantage and keeping the game interesting. Looking forward to seeing Uconn's capitalize on their deep NCAA playoff experience next year Go Huskies!
Gino's terrible decision to bench Williams took away Uconns ability to be the complete team. Every girl on that Uconn team has struggled at one point this season. But with the support of their teammates on the court, they've always been able to work through it. Gino didn't give Williams that chance. Gina was frantic and he messed up. Williams was the reason that team made it to the finals when Paige was out with her injury. Williams deserved more respect from Geno. When he's getting out coached he takes it out on a player. Shame on you
UConn will have two players coming in that are very Athletic.. Ice Brady has the same body type as A'ja Wilson and also a lefty with a soft touch from the outside, can also play inside. What I also noticed is that she has a nice handle. Ayanna Patterson is very Athletic and can run the floor and can dunk.. They will help along with Dorka with rebounding and defense. Check both of them on CZcams. UConn will be back in the championship game again next year... Go huskies.
Gino messed up having Paige on Destiny should’ve had Fudd on her. You can’t have your best player chasing her around then expect to her to deliver on the other end. Gino got out coach big time time tonight by Dawn Staley big time he wasn’t ready for them.
They were certainly humble and complimentary in this postgame but the “We have Paige and you don’t “ bs wasn’t too long ago. I’ve heard a variation of that before. Sheesh. Well Paige was overmatched tonite -even on two good legs this would’ve been the case. Congrats to The Gamecocks.
On two good legs, Paige would’ve probably scored 30. She’s been their best player all year before the injury, during the injury and after the injury. I don’t think Geno has every said, “We have Paige and you don’t.” I think the team may have said that or maybe the social media. But arguably it was deserved. She carried them against NC State in the double Ot.
@@scndp4life Very True. Now if Iowa could go and get a playmaker and rebounder type like Aaliyah Boston (that’s not the same as Monika Cznano as she’s more of a two-way forward but plays like a 5 spot sometimes.
The "We have Paige and you don't" comments came from their players after they defeated NC State in double overtime in the Regional Final at Bridgeport, Connecticut. You didn't hear them say "We have a short one-hour trip to the venue and 10,000 of our fans at the game and you don't." However, in this press conference, they didn't seem so smug and entitled.
South Carolina had an overwhelming advantage over Connecticut in rebounds 49-24, in fouls 11-21, and in free throw attempts 26-4. It's very hard for ANY team to win a game with these kinds of disparities. But how did they happen? Lets look at the free throw attempts: When your team's #1 free throw attempter on a season (Nelson-Ododa) takes only two (2) field goal attempts and pulls down only 2 rebounds all game long; When your team's #2 free throw attempter on a season (Juhasz) is out with a wrist injury; When your team's #3 free throw attempter on a season (Williams) where they also normally lead the team in drives to the basket, goes 1-8 and is almost invisible all game long; When your team's #4 free throw attempter on a season (Westbrook) does take 10 attempts in 18 minutes, but they are mostly perimeter jumpers due to her dealing with some sort of injury all game long..... well, you're probably going to see your team get dominated on the boards and in the paint all game long, and have a pretty off game in terms of getting fouled and going to the free throw line. Connecticut is typically a team that does not gather fouls in any typical scenario, anyways. They don't foul, and they don't get fouled. Luigi likes smooth, free-flowing motion offense where everyone is moving, cutting, driving, and passing. Not much banging and battling in the paint. As such, CT was something like 178th nationally this past season in free throw attempts, with under 500 total attempts, while South Carolina was 5th with 700+ attempts. South Carolina played 1 more game this season than CT did. So, you run an offense that typically does NOT generate fouls and free throws, you do NOT present much of a contest for the rebounds or points in the paint, and the vast majority of your scoring comes from perimeter jump shots. Against an opponent that's 3rd in nation in rebounds per game and 1st in rebound margin. That is 3rd in scoring defense and 2nd in field goal percentage defense. That's how you get dominated in rebounding, in fouls, and in free-throw attempts. They are going to already be there: you MUST rise to the occasion and meet them there and do battle with them. And Connecticut just either couldn't or wouldn't do that....
Huge coaching error. Gino should have never treated Williams like he did. Everyone on that team was struggling. Williams is the player who lead that team when Paige was out. These girls have struggled to get into a flow of a game ALL season and have been able to work it out enough to get to the finals. Gino you didn't give the team or Williams a chance to win that game. Shame on you. Uconn wasn't getting beat because they weren't making shots. They were getting beat because they couldn't make shots. South Carolina's defense was just too strong and UConn girls could not overcome their intense defense. Gino was out coached the entire game and he was frantic. I understand Fudd was sick. Williams is a senior and should have been on that Court the entire game. Gino did the team WRONG. Williams WRONG. SIDE NOTE TO PAIGE. You better have your trainer up in your face this off season. You need to be defended by size and height. So you can learn to shoot against the swarming defense. Bigger players. Taller players. YOUR trainer needs to push you, lean on you, smack your arms, poke you and grab your shirt. Rough you up. And you need to learn how to shoot against it. Not dribble around the court until you finally out run your Defender to get a shot off. You need to practice your shooting from the left side of the Court and you need to practice making shots way outside the 3-point line. You need to learn to shoot a fade away. Your challenge to get to the next level will be to be the offensive player no one can stop from getting a shot off. No one should say she's gotten to her spot and she's money from that spot. ANY SPOT on a basketball court should be your money shot. Yes you're a good player. Now practice and learn to be a great player.
@@number4534 I learned in the second quarter of the Indiana game that she was only going to get 5-10 minutes no matter what (Caroline played great in that quarter). Geno believes in a short rotation during the tournament. Caroline was the one he chose to cut out of that rotation. I am surprised she played as well as she did given the circumstance.
@@TheDisruptiveOne I saw somewhere that said Williams was something like 4-30 in the final four and today. She is consistently choking when it comes to the big games. They’re great people but I’m excited to see who can step up to fill their spots next year.
I have a lot of respect for the huskies they are a good team and had a great season but as a gamecock fam but the way they played in the game was like watching the girls JV basketball team at my highschool
As Geno said your bigs have to be able to dominate at least on one end of the floor. His bigs failed to dominate at either end and were embarrassed by SC bigs. If Uconn is to win the championship next year Geno best develop his bigs or get new bigs who can create their own shots, rebound and intimidate their opponents. I love Geno and Uconn. Here's hoping he gets the bigs he needs to win a championship and that everyone on the team gets infected with Paiges work ethic and passion to win. Go Huskies!! 🏀💪👍😎
South Carolina is a great team no doubt. Congrats to them. but there is NO WAY, in a a National Championship game, that one team should shoot 26 free throws and the other shoot 4. The officiating all tournament was a 6th defender for this UConn team. At this point the officials don't even try to hide it.
@@jonpoetical they were bigger and more physical yet get called for 11 fouls to UConns 21. Great team the better team tonight but the whistle was swallowed at one end while ticky tac fouls got called over and over on the other.
@@jonpoetical all I’m saying is it was pretty lopsided. UConn lost this game on the perimeter not in the paint. Even 5 foot Henderson shot more FT alone than UConn’s did as a team. We were called for over the back 3 or 4 times and SC with all those rebounds not once. All the broadcast did was talk about “suffocating” SC defense. Well yea when you’re allowed to bump and grab on the perimeter with impunity all night the other team is going to be disjointed and out of rhythm. The better team won but they for sure had a favorable whistle by far.
@@DonDizzz UCONN lost this game in the paint. The 5' Henderson was driving to the hole and beating her defenders and getting fouled in the process. All those championships UCONN won in the past was based on the fact that they were the most physical team. SCAR were the bigger, Quicker and stronger team. This USED to be UCONN's M.O. The bullies aren't the bullies anymore. Coach Auriemma even said himself, teams that offensive rebound get to the line. UCONN was a step slow and was fouling. NOBODY was beating SCAR. They've been playing the same way all year. UCONN was shell shocked in the beginning and couldn't recover. This is sour grapes, friend.
UCONN had 4 foul shots, SC had 26,,,,,that's the story, SC was allowed to play hard defense without fouls called! That's been the story of this entire tournament, SC not getting called for fouls! No team in the final four ever is 26 to 4 better defensively!
It’s easier to get calls when you attack the paint and fight to get rebounds. Aside from Paige’s 6 no body else really went for the ball during the game tbh
As predicted Edwards and Nelson-Ododa stunk up the court as faded like a week old rose. Edwards has actually gotten worst compared to her freshman year. UCONN will continue to fail unless the get some decent post players. Ododa is gone, and Edwards isn’t the answer.
I didn't expect much from ONO because she was playing against Aliyah Boston, both the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Edwards did not play well during the first half of the year but played well during the second half o the year- I have no idea what you are watching,. Aliyah was a monster on the boards and has a better mid-range shot compared to last year. Edwards definitely should be and will be a starter.
Think of UConn as an MMA fighter. Paige is the stiff jab and haymaker right hook. For the haymaker to come, one must be able to 'open up' the opponent with a divertive kick or move. No one from UConn was able to create that environment for Paige. A few made buckets from Williams or Fudd (I know she was sick) and that would have stopped SC from swarming Paige, opening them up for the haymakers. BBall is a team sport. Even Jordan had Pippen to open the floor up. Peace!
@@victorlopez2143 You guys are ridiculous. First you guys said " once we get Fudd and Paige back, we are going to be unstoppable " now it's Patterson and Brady .Wake up your dream is over🤣🤣
This loss was well deserved. Ncaa did their best to make sure UCONN made it to the final game. But this is what happens when your team isn't as good as the MEDIA and SPORT POLITICS, portray them and in this game, talent wins. Uconn should not have even made it that far. They weren't anywhere near as good as SC, NC State, or Louisville.
Certainly not on a neutral court. However, they might have been able to give Louisville a run for their money. They lost to NC State earlier in the season and didn't even make it to the ACC Championship game, but were given a #1 seed to keep UCONN in the Bridgeport Regional. NC State just happened to be the sacrificial lamb in the seed manipulation.
AMEN Lilika! Having their home court advantage (Bridgeport bestowed by the NCAA) as a #2 seed, allowed UCONN to "sweek" by the weaker teams. As far as Stanford, who, in my opinion, should have never won the 2021 championship, they held PB to 14 points as well in this year's final four. Stanford only beat South Carolina by one and Arizona by one in 2021.
Same thing about player from Iowa (Clark) ---They were trying to make tournament about her being this great player...cream rises to the top (Boston) and the Gamecocks!!!
And why is that? I would think someone would have challenged that in court before now. We all hear a lot about equity but if you make them play by different rules is that fair?
UCONN frontcourt players were pathetic and were dominated completely .19 points 5 rebounds between Edwards, Nelson ododa and ducharme is just not gonna get it done for any game ever. Nelson ododa was particularly out of her depth and bueckers should have gone all Kobe and shot the ball every chance she could

I didn't see this.. the coach knew what he had, at a point this year, he pretty much said his team was not good enough to go far.. There's confidence and then there's confidence cause you're actually good enough to be that confident. You have had to play sports to understand where and who you are..

Uconns problem is Paige. She's a good player, but she's not the team. When she went down, they lost their identity. Williams saying that Geno broke her was a slap not only to her but the team as well. Geno repeatedly implying that they weren't as good, or they won't make it, etc without Paige and yet they made it the majority of the season without her. Paige adds an extra element yes but they were good without her and don't believe it because Paige gets all the hype and credit. They dont have the confidence because they were thought of as less than if Paige wasn't playing. The Big East is not much better than the AAC so that wasn't a test for them. Geno doged them into believing that they were not good without Paige and they have no confidence even though they weren't bad without her. I remember from before the tournament where I can't remember who said it but the saying was we have Paige and they don't and that spoke volumes.
@@geronimocruz9123 she maybe a media darling, but her "hype" hurts the team and with Geno also feeding it relentlessly and she feeds into it just as hard it's not good...just saying ...
So South Carolina don’t play basketball G-bo so what does those black girls play? Cooke nose was bleeding and u only worried about your white player! Go retire yesterday’s coach.
South Carolina will win it all again next year. Henny is the only starter who has declared. Littleton has not yet declared tho I imagine she will. Two reserves entered the portal, E.W. and Eniya Russell. E was originally a walk-on who was later placed on scholarship. A local SC girl and she is grad transferring. She has not announced where that location will be. Eniya was part of the #1 recruiting class we brought in but she got no playing time and with Raven coming back from her injury next yr and with the transfer we just picked up from GT, along with Victaria Saxton announcing she will be returning, Eniya decided she wanted the opportunity for playing time and the writing was on the wall.. She probably would have gotten little this upcoming season. We have Talaysia Cooper coming in as well as Ashlyn Watkins. We are, once again, stacked upon stacked.
Ball hog no defense Paige loses another championship game. 2 assists and lets SC guard get 26 points. Sad when Geno calls you a ball hog in the post-game press conference. No wonder she is 1-5 in championship games dating back to HS.
Williams went 4-30 in the last 2 games. If she didn’t take initiative to create something on offense on her own nobody would’ve. Nobody set screens for her and when they did it was a moving screen. Williams now showing up and fudd out sick they only had to worry about Bueckers.
@@number4534 They set screens for Williams but she didn’t have any form of aggression. At one point, she got to the rim but didn’t shoot the ball. She passed it. Granted, she got an assist on that but she was open from 3 and didn’t shoot. Williams didn’t show up at all
I don’t agree. Paige had to score the ball. No one else did anything. Williams was nonexistent. Ododa and Edwards were getting dog walked inside. C. Durcharme came off the bench and did really well. Uconn was overmatched on the inside. That’s what lost them the game the most. Boston, Saxton and Cardoso were too long
Nope, just goes to show how well SC defended and made it hard for Paige. Henderson was glued to her and played great defense the whole game which would mean others had to step up since it’s not a one player game and that wasn’t the case.
Overhyped??? huh?! But led the team in scoring & rebounds & equaling her season average of 14 points per game while being face guarded to the max all game.
Have u stopped to think that maybe that’s because she is the best player on the team and therefore draws the best defense and therefore would have some trouble scoring 🤔
It was grossly unfair to force the UCONN women to travel 1,325 miles to play in the Final Four at Minneapolis, while South Carolina only had to travel 1,212 miles. As we've already seen, if UCONN got to play this game in Bridgeport, it would have been much closer, and UCONN might have actually won this game. It was totally unfair to force the UCONN women to leave the state of Connecticut to play in the Final Four and they need to file a complaint with the NCAA ASAP.

I think it's best if Paige doesn't pick up a basketball for the next 2 or 3 months. Give her body some much needed rest.
And gain some weight and muscle.
The whole team. Most of the players had stress reactions or other over-use injuries at some point during the season.

Frankly I think Stanford lost the game more than UConn winning the game. Stanford shot 4 for 23 (17%) three-pointers; they normally shoot 35% which is 7-8 three-pointers. Their backcourt did very little.
With all the injuries and adversities that the UConn team went through this entire
season and still make it to the National Championship game speaks nothing but
"CLASS" in this team. Congrats on a great season and congrats to SC for playing
a great game.
South Carolina much tougher girls and tougher coach
I feel bad for Paige. A true gem of a player and person. Horrible time to come and play for UCONN.
South Carolina wanted to more you can tell by how they started out in the first quarter
A team can only run on guts for so long before you hit a buzz saw.
“THEY DIDN’T COOPERATE!”
TRUE THAT!!!
Their rebounding is the key. MJ went and got Rodman for a reason.. this team is of similar structure minus the rebounder.
Stop making excuses🤣
Great job UConn! Other than the first 5 min of thr game you all hung with them. Great job! SC is just a complete team.
Go huskies.

You didn't hear them say "We have a short one-hour trip to the venue and 10,000 of our fans at the game and you don't." However, in this press conference, they didn't seem so smug and entitled.
Well said.
The way the games were called lol UConn was getting most of the calls!
South Carolina had an overwhelming advantage over Connecticut in rebounds 49-24, in fouls 11-21, and in free throw attempts 26-4. It's very hard for ANY team to win a game with these kinds of disparities. But how did they happen?
Lets look at the free throw attempts:
When your team's #1 free throw attempter on a season (Nelson-Ododa) takes only two (2) field goal attempts and pulls down only 2 rebounds all game long;
When your team's #2 free throw attempter on a season (Juhasz) is out with a wrist injury;
When your team's #3 free throw attempter on a season (Williams) where they also normally lead the team in drives to the basket, goes 1-8 and is almost invisible all game long;
When your team's #4 free throw attempter on a season (Westbrook) does take 10 attempts in 18 minutes, but they are mostly perimeter jumpers due to her dealing with some sort of injury all game long.....
well, you're probably going to see your team get dominated on the boards and in the paint all game long, and have a pretty off game in terms of getting fouled and going to the free throw line.
I'm a unconn fan 🙌
It's always funny to see Geno mope around as if he doesn't have 11 championships.

As Geno said your bigs have to be able to dominate at least on one end of the floor. His bigs failed to dominate at either end and were embarrassed by SC bigs.

Paige is a media darling with all this hype.
@@geronimocruz9123 she maybe a media darling, but her "hype" hurts the team and with Geno also feeding it relentlessly and she feeds into it just as hard it's not good...just saying ...
@@geronimocruz9123 Not so much today...I'm so thankful to see her cockiness disappear, the loss to SC has humbled her, and she certainly needed that.
SEC baby 🍼
Yeah. Kentucky did really well in tourney.
So why didn’t you drive the ball more? 4 FTs? Ridiculous
Their ball handling is bad
No way U CONN committed more than 3 times the fowels south Carolina committed.
They win because we lose.
So South Carolina don’t play basketball G-bo so what does those black girls play? Cooke nose was bleeding and u only worried about your white player! Go retire yesterday’s coach.
SC will not win another next year
Why not? They return almost everyone, and add some great talent. No one looks close.
They will be better on offense and pretty good on defense. The transfer portal can create a dark horse monster.
@@gellibean1801 Russell was the lone recuit in between the two #1 classes.
@@KelzKelz Yep. You are right. My bad!
Ball hog no defense Paige loses another championship game.
2 assists and lets SC guard get 26 points.
Sad when Geno calls you a ball hog in the post-game press conference.
No wonder she is 1-5 in championship games dating back to HS.
No, he was making the point that no one else stepped up, provided her help, i.e. Christyn Williams.
Boston, Saxton and Cardoso were too long
Paige only had 3 points in the 4th Quarter? OverHyped? You decide.
Nope, just goes to show how well SC defended and made it hard for Paige. Henderson was glued to her and played great defense the whole game which would mean others had to step up since it’s not a one player game and that wasn’t the case.
Wow, Brian. You've been in this type of situation before, it's obvious.
SC was too long and athletic for UCONN tonight. Just a bad matchup. It happens.
Should have shut down HENDERSON, BOSTON.....
Well done. Bravo!
Excuses
Are you serious? Did you see the crowd at the game? It was heavy UCONN and why does that matter? Why should it have been in Bridgeport? Every excuse smh.... They Lost that is it. They lost early in the season, and they lost late in the season. Facts SC was better, bigger, faster that is why UCONN lost!
@@yuwonder80 You bring up that loss earlier in the season in the Battle 4 Atlantis? That was in Nassau, Bahamas and UCONN had to travel 1,194 miles to get there, while South Carolina only had to travel 657 miles. You know as well as I do, if that game had rightfully been played in Connecticut before 10,000 of their fans, UCONN probably could have beaten South Carolina.
Get over it
Geno is a great coach. He is a true American . I can't say that about South Carolina's coach.
Yea but you can say she is a winner. Every one doesnt love racist America. No one cares about u crying about a national anthem
"True American"? He was born in Montella, Italy.
@@lvpack5022 😂😂😂
Why are you disrespecting coach dawn Staley for Ture American get your facts straight geno was not born here he is from Italy he came here when he was 7
Are you kidding me.
How are you going to say that Geno is a Ture American when he's from Italy so before you say he is a Ture American you need to get your facts straight
It also helps South Carolina when you have Transgender 's on your team women's college basketball is for women only not men who think there women. Let's write laws where women play against women and men play against men, or have any all Transgender league.
Question what does transgenders have to do with this
Who’s transgender on SC?
Azzi Fudd is overrated
She's a freshman who was sick. Diana taurasi went 1 for 13 her freshman year in the semifinal loss
She is a Freshman
Agreed. They've been making excuses for her all season. Look at what Bueckers did as a freshman. National Player Of the Year. Female Athlete Of The Year
overrated because she didn’t perform in her first championship game as a freshman? you’re weird
Let's come back and have this discussion when she's a junior or senior. Even as a freshman, and being sick, she outscored her senior backcourt teammate.
I know it’s a heartbreaking loss and many emotions involved. But those 3 showing up the the post game press conference with their heads down and timid voices shows a lot of weakness on their part . This clearly shows they deserved to lose .
Grown men cry when they lose in their championship games too. Nobody who plays with a passion loses in the championship game and doesn’t cry. You talking like you know the feeling 😂
@@number4534 and you talking like you know the sentiment 😂🤡
@@MarioMartinez-tt9ly if I recall I’m not the one judging people who came up short on a life long dream and telling them how they should react now am I? Imagine thinking having emotions means you deserve to lose. But if they didn’t react you’d probably be the same type of person to say they have no passion.
weakness how? they’re showing real and raw emotions. it takes a lot of emotional strength to speak to the media following a loss in a championship games. are they supposed to look straight into the camera as they’re crying?
Remember how Aliyah Boston cried when SC lost last year? Of course not.
I am not a Uconn fan, never have been, but I rooted for them. Not only because Paige is from my home state and I wish her well but because their opponents choose to disrespect America by refusing to be on the court and stand for our national anthem. What a disgraceful gesture from the team and their even more disgraceful and disgusting coach. Democrat politics is ruining America's sports .
True that! But then the coach says, "I'd like to give God all the glory" go figure.
@@LemireCassie There are hundreds of millions of Christians in the world who live in different countries that probably don't stand up for our Anthem and I respect that.
You are SO incorrect in you comment, get your facts together (as Dawn Staley said) before you make such a horrible and hurtful assumption.
