No lie these two cartoon episodes can say a lot about the world and people, and it's done beautifully and comically and is art in every sense of the word, but i know what you mean about not being so direct i suppose you can say and with a serial plot or agenda

Not really. Kids in my day understand more references from before they were born than the following generations. It's like when kids pretend not to know what a cassette tape is. It's like I didn't grow up with a phonogram but I know what the fuck one is. I've never used an 8 track but I know what they look like.
I can only speak for my self but there was no confusion. It was a fun show to watch and i did not think to much into it untill i grew older. Actually the older i get and the more i understand this show the more it makes me wonder how they could run this show in the afternoon program. Its like looking into the minde of one F'ed up mofo that John K is. Its still fun tho and i like the art style and still enjoy the show but its like an iceberg that goes on and on way below the waterline.
Last Temptation has always be one of my favorite episodes of the entire show since my childhood. It's so great that they never banned it here in Germany.
Yeah. I think it became more apparent once John K. was on his own (especially with Adult Party Cartoon) that Bob Camp was the real creative force behind Ren and Stimpy. Also, despite some of the limitations in the animation, I like most of the games era more than the John K. era.
Animation is so good. No wonder it took them forever to make them. Saw a documentary about it and it was darker than expected. It was a good doc. but workplace seem pretty toxic to use todays nomenclature

Regarding August of 2000, Nickelodeon and Viacom had begin in Negotiations back in 1999 with Spumco and John Kricfalusi to produce a New Season R&S at the time. John K was interested in returning and wanted to produce a 6th Season so Nick brought the original episodes back on Air.
