How crazy is it that these are actual items! Imagine being on the research team and poring over newspapers, magazines, and other periodicals in the hope that there would be some absurd text in an ad. It must be so boring but when you find one, wowee, that makes it all worth it.

Seeing the band back then is great! Pender still was holding on to a little hair, and the Vivino brothers and La Bamba had a lot of hair. Just seeing La Bamba without his hat is strange!
Louis CK concocted the "Actual Items" for Conan's show when he was a writer there back in the '90s.
So why does Conan always just credit Leno for this bit.. Perhaps, Do you mean Louis CK made up the funny lines? I love the one with the Persian rug ad..
