Mad to think Bayern are scoring more goals and have picked up more points at this point compared to last season yet have got spanked in the league. What an incredible season for Leverkusen
They would of lost if dort didn't choke last season
@@troytheboy1985 but they did so it's kind of irrelevant isn't it Michael Owen
Ironic that Harry Kane went to Germany to win something and has been left wringing his hands yet again.
Even third place Stuttgart would be 1st at this point last year
@@ls8263the only team to give them a scare this season
Fantastic Pod as usual. Gary Lineker is downright funny and that's a fact. Micah knows how to laugh it all out and that's beautiful and then there is Alan a banter (and swear 😂) King. Lovely combination. Sending you love from Alberta Canada guys
He is Lineker sharpe quick funny, and kind about players not dragging them down viciously like some do..
At least these pundits praised Crystal Palace and Aston Villa for their performances as opposed to say that Liverpool and Arsenal were poor.
The EPL is the toughest league. Liverpool weren't "poor" in comparison to many other teams in many other leagues
@@drep9028 we were poor compared to Palace and that’s all that matters.
@@Liverpool1ne palace were better at taking their opportunities compared to Liverpool. It's not easy breaking down teams that set up to defend and counter. I think a manager called Pep has been saying so for years now
@@drep9028 indeed they were but the misplaced passes, individual errors and apparent lack of energy were there for all to see. Palace played extremely well, Liverpool were poor.
@@Do27ggI mean, Liverpool had more possession and 20+ shots. There isn’t much more Liverpool could’ve done on that day…
To state they were poor is a bit of an injustice to Palace
Compare that game to the Atlanta game and Liverpool were poor in that game, Sunday was a massive improvement over that
Palace defended extremely well and attacked Liverpool with confidence
It seems in football, if a team doesn’t win, all of a sudden they ‘bottled’ it and people just speak nonsense and ignores context of the actual game
The Man City ambassador is a die-hard Arsenal fan 😂😂
Die hard! That's pushing it. I doubt he ever went to Highbury as a kid. Probably just a glory follower.
He's a Villa fan, comes from the local area
@@lordvadertheleftie9703 wasn't he born in Birmingham but grew up in Leeds? Played for city from being a kid. Doesn't have a Birmingham accent. Also he says he was an arsenal fan as a kid..
@@lordvadertheleftie9703he never supported villa !!! What you on about 😂😂 He played there for a short time at the end of his career but never supported them and though born in Brum he was soon moved to Leeds and had no connection to villa until playing for them for a very short time
He is a disgrace to city fans
Ever since Lineker said Leicester were on target for 120 points, they've fallen off a cliff!
No they’ve just been exposed and everyone knows how they play now
Nah. They just don't want to get the points deduction if they get to the prem 😅
Love how Gary always finds a way to bring the fact he played for Barcelona into the conversations 😂 don't blame him, I'd do the same
Editors smashing it on this episode - too funny!
Nice to see Villa and Newcastle upsetting the so called 'Big 6'
it's time for Villa and the Jordies to become the big 6 again
@@kazsangha18 instead of who. The champions league might be half the table by then
As a Villa fan since 1977, that was one of the best away performances Ive ever seen. They were superb, 2nd half Arsenal did not get a meaningful kick of the ball. A masterclass in management by Unai Emery.
I'd say the performance against City was the best I've seen in 20 years, but this could be our most important result in the last 42 years
Got battered first half arsenal should of scored at least 3.u played well second half but had 2 shots on target and one of them was deflected
@@leehaslam5751 keep crying 😢
@@leehaslam5751 we hit the post twice. We could have beaten you 4-0. You had one good chance that Trossard couldn't convert. That's it. You bottled the league. Again
Great analysis, really good football chat. Lots of fun, too
It's unreal that Man City are 6 games from retaining the Premier League title, 2 games from retaining the FA cup and 4 games from retaining the Champions League, despite not quite looking as strong as last year. Even if they don't end up winning any of them, to get that close to another treble is incredible.
Regarding the title race, it's really crucial not to lose your momentum in April, isn't it.
Unfortunately for Liverpool, that seemed to happen when they got knocked out of the FA Cup the way they did. I think that's partly just down to the few experienced (and fit) members of the team having not coped with a serious title run-in for a long time (Van Dijk, and particularly Salah), while Diaz, Gakpo, Jota and Nunez haven't been in one before in the PL.
It might be a good question for Gary and Alan, actually, about how much more difficult finishing becomes under that kind of pressure. Both will have missed big chances in title races before, I would imagine - and both have played in massive International tournaments for England under incredible pressure to score. Is it more-or-less impossible to cope with that pressure without experience?
As for Arsenal, the Bayern game was obviously going to be a huge test for them; having to go away in the second leg and get a result, while playing one of the teams of the season in between the two fixtures, is incredibly tough. I feel like they are almost there though, a bit like Liverpool in 18/19 when they finished behind City by a point: if they don't win the league this year, they will win it soon.
As for The Toon, it was an INCREDIBLE game on Saturday. Tottenham playing a high line against Gordon, Isak and Barnes was incredibly risky, especially since Newcastle had the quality in Bruno Guimaraes to pick them out. Until the first goal, it was a toss-up as to which way it would go though.
@@Do27gg I think that’s very silly.😄
@@Do27gg Yes, I do. I think it’s a deliberately simplistic and reductive statement based on feelings rather than reasoning. That’s basically a perfect example of how I define the word “silly”. 😂✌️

Although people like you are eager to talk about anything BUT what happens on the pitch.
top tier editing guys! 😆🤣
that grayshade clip of Micah while Gary is saying 'Arsenal fan' during the intro 🤣
The extra editing on this ep was on point.
Micah stuttering like Ronnie Barker playing Arkwright in Open All Hours 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wharton is class, going to be a regular England player going forward
Brilliant episode, really balanced with some top tier bantz thrown in.
Im a United fan, i just realised Arsenal are the most hated club in England. Liverpool lost to a team in the bottom half of the table on the weekend, United drew against Bournemouth, and everyone in the media is talking about Arsenal. I cant even deny it.
Because Arsenal gave it the 'big I am energy.'
Arsenal fans have been unbearable the past few seasons.
Arsenal fans have been so annoying going on about how great they are. Even the players coming out saying they won't bottle it like last season.
All the media and fans were saying it was a stroke of genius to go for a draw at City. I kept saying they should have gone for the win.
I'm glad arsenal lost. Even if it means City win it.
Hey was brilliant yesterday 2 small clubs bottled it can't get better then that 😂😂😂😂
These guys are brilliant 😎
20:29 funniest part, getting Pep on the Podcast

Thank you guys for the respect that you have placed on Aston Villa's performance. All the other news agencies have given no respect for Aston Villa even though they're 4th and deserved the win. Not the other responses all were saying Arsenal played terribly. That is the disrespect.
Yuri tillamens was superb ❤
At last, we get to hear the real incisive comments from these outstanding footballers. We all know presenting on TV requires a more formal delivery, but that's why these podcasts provide such a refreshing change. Thank you gentlemen.
...it ain't about how hard you hit them. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!
Arsenal bleeding through on Micah had me in stitches XD
Can anyone help me and explain what the thing is on the upper part of the right lens of Gary’s glasses? It’s bothering me endlessly now that I’ve noticed it but can’t grasp what I’m looking at lol
“Absolutely and outstanding,” seem to be the only words they know. 😂
is it me or is Shearer fancy free with the F word?
Alan channeling his inner Bruce Willis! 😂😂😂
Nice being able to find out who beat Arsenal yesterday.
A nice balanced podcast today, thanks guys. Yesterday was a disappointing day as an Arsenal fan, but I’m with you all , there will be more twists and turns before the title is taken. The team and fanbase as a unit with the greatest belief and application will win the league. There’s part of me that would love to see Tottenham beat City to allow Arsenal to win the league. To see North London truly red and white for a day.. now that would be a wonderful ending to what’s been a great season for both teams.
It is its best podcast on footy not always whining and rattling on about Man Utd and utds toxic traits towards players
They just bounce off each other, I can't stop laughing with them.
Had a crap day, this turned it around for me, thanks lads, keep them coming
Can't believe both the Championship & Premiership Top 3 don't want to win!
What is Micah wearing 😂
He's wearing more money than you have in your bank account
@@lukegallagher3361 you cant buy style :D
Looks like a rugby shirt underneath a hooded gillet. Not the worse combo in the world.
I've seen him wear worse. His suits are probably expensive but they fit him terribly.
Ask your mother....
Loving this ❤
Great show lads, but like MOTD why barely any talk about how good Newcastle played, no mention of our in form players and no mention of the charitable effort the club have done?
Exactly.. the historic events at Newcastle on Saturday involving RNID/SELA have been completely ignored by the BBC .. shameful!! It was everything good about the power of football .. the joy on the faces of the children was priceless ❤❤
Adam wharton is getting overlooked because of mainoo. Having seen him come through blackburn i can safely say this guy needs to be involved with the national team. He is 100% a certified baller for a 19 year old. Him bellingham and rice would be unstoppable
So you're putting Wharton in , instead of Phil Foden ?
As a Palace fan I have to agree. The kid has settled in playing Premier League football like he's had three season of it already. The board ought to be paying Blackburn those add-ons now. What a talent Wharton is.
England seem to produce excellent midfielders, we just need a decent back four and a top tier keeper and the national team might have a hope...
Did he do a lot in the game!
We need to see some behind the scenes footage of Gary and Micah laughing off screen about Keown 🤣
the "mighty" Klopp's farewell is a league cup 🤣🤣
OMG I find myself agreeing 100% with Mr. Richards! Going to have to have a lie down in a dark room now.
As a life long Arsenal fan who tries to stay optimistic all I have to say is, it’s not that city can’t drop points although extremely unlikely but it’s the fact that the draw to Bayern was a bad result, we respond but losing at home, and although we have a chance the players will just clock out and bottle it like all the time and we will probably drop more points in the league so city can just cruise from here
The best podcast 😢🎉
Love when Alan swears
I can't believe City managed to win anything with Richards in the team.
Richards is a bit annoying as a pundit. Well on sky and that American channel.
But he was a very good player as a teenager and fully contributed to the fa cup and league title in 11 and 12.
He was jusr more focused on clowning around on city TV and probably playing bertie bigg potatoes in town. While Zaba worked hard and took his place. But Richards really was a very good player. Physically had everything especially his early years in a poor city team.
Just didn't have the right mentality.
this is the best podcast in history of podcasts. I am not joking
I think they need to bring a rule in where your not allowed to deduct points during the season and start points deductions in the following season
At 60min Micha there the manager allowed them to free up the stamina he kept for first half then he put on Leon Bailey n the game jus turned especially when Mikel took off Ben n left zinny ,to many to say so I will say he I focus for wensday let's wait n see
What?
I came here to read, not solve a cryptic treasure map made of words
Villa knew they had to get a result from the game. The championship is not yet over the next two to three games will determine City are in a position they know well so I think they are going to try and maintain that. Three points lost at home at this stage is crucial
Eddie howe gets praise but ETH gets weekly pelters. At least both should get the pelters lol
Micah rubbing it in as we all know where his allegiances lye.
Liv/Ars got caught when no one expected, so it can also happen to MC. It’s disrespectful to the teams to play, just like CP and AV proved a point…we can also play and win on our day!
'If you sit behind, eventually you're gonna get broken down. It's sort or boring to watch'
Now you know how Hammers feel about Moyesball
Here’s a new drinking game. Take a shot every time
1 - Alan swears
2 - big Meeks says “in terms of”
And
3 - when Gary touches his nose
Guaranteed you will be pissed by the end of the pod 😂
Not a Gary lineker fan but at least he gives palace an Villa the credit they are due for
A team can be poor due to the other team making them poor. It a team exposed the weaknesses of opposition, that naturally leads to the opposition being poor, at least to some extent
How comes Zinchenko didn't get mentioned Gary???
Bayer Leverkusen have done an amazing job. Tactically astute and well coached. Complete opposite of my team West Ham who turned up to try and low block and stifle them with zero ambition or counter attacking threat. Sick to death of this awful boring turgid football. Can’t even say we’ve been tight in defence. Got fourth worst defence in the league.
Does anyone know what the odds were for 3 away teams to win yesterday?
Crystal palace has 1100
Aston villa gas 650
Fulham has 175
10.20 sec analysis of keeping your defensive midfielders Partey and Jorgi on bench while Zinchenko was still in the match that you have lost control of the game is Wild by Arteta, sometimes coaches need to be criticized and that is what Arteta deserved yesterday.
Yes! Micha you are a RED!! Away to Woolwich with you. Sorry if I spelt your name wrong 😂not really 😂
How Palace playing under new manager with almost New defence & mid that actually sums up the standard of british manager.. That Palace Was so average under hodson
He brings a new energy and a positive vibe. He also has the team running to get fitness levels higher. The mere fact that he goes into every pre-match press conference saying that Palace has a plan to win is so freaking refreshing. A team that used to play scared is now playing with belief.
I've said all season citeh would win the league they know how to win, they will end winning it comfortably by 6-8 points
Crystal palace and Aston villa were great.
Can't believe you saying that Luton had 10 men behind the ball. The only reason they did that was cos they couldn't get the ball!
What is up with micahs hair 😂😂😂looks like the front is all over to one side hes head
4 sitters from 2 yards out. 0 converted. We've not handled being top well at all. Also, Anfield has become toxic in recent weeks with the fans expecting the league title rather then just enjoying the ride
It's actually pronounced " Noonoo" so Martin was right to question
Entertain the crowds like Lineker said get out there score goals then go to the pub - win loose or draw a pee of Neville and carragher cus you’ve gone to pub..
Have Newcastle stumbled upon the next Henry? that lads finishing is exactly the same
I will never see pep as the greatest manager of all time, until he wins something with a squad that isn’t full of 25 world class players like he’s had everyone other season.
The filters are off with Shearer. Would make a great drinking games. We’ll call it Shearer Shots. Shot for every time he swears 😂😂😂
I like Asterisks, star player
Didn't know Gary played for Barca
There’s only 2 points in it still everything to play for
Stop taking the 'hopium' pill and face reality, Man City have won it.
I'm not sure Pep would come on the pod unfortunately... you got big Virg on and liverpool haven't won since lol might be a curse.
Micah cancels out Lee Dixon in terms of club supported and club played for.
there is probably only 2 teams city still have to face who still have somthing to play for like nott forest relegation battle and tottenham for top 4 spot that will give city a run for their money the other mid table teams usually have one eye on their vacation at this point of the season lol
Gutted for Arsenal but they did not deserve anything out of the game. Villa played a 90 minute game, bided their time and caught Arsenal ina lethargic state in the second half.
You think Meekz would get a straight hairline for how many he gets a week 😂
Should get rio on the podcast 😊
Gary, Trafford isn't half as good as Muric with the ball at his feet - they aren't even comparable, Burnley's improvement (and there has been) coincided with Muric being brought in. He's miles better than Trafford
Yeh Muric looked amazing with the ball at his feet 😂😂😂
@@darrenwarby32 he's phenomenal but made a bad mistake. I remember both Ederson and Allison fucking up for their clubs quite a few times, it happens.

Congratulations to Leverkusen & Man City for being crowned league champions 2024!
Leverkusen...Yes! Not Man Cheaty
And one of them did it without cheating!
The city players are cheating?????? 😮
I see that Liverpool and Arsenal fans are getting salty after yesterday's defeats
Alot of salt in here kids just can't see that's what small clubs do they bottle league's
To cheer me up as a ManU fan, I'm gonna put a cheeky tenner on Man City doing a triple treble. At least when ManU disappoint on the weekends I still have something to hope for 😁
These guys afraid of saying both teams bottled it. Richards keep saying Arsenal didn't bottle it last season is why you don't have the credibility.
Harry Kane lol
Zinchenko was awful yesterday, constantly in the wrong position, giving the ball away, losing 1 on 1's, I cant figure out why Arteta decided to change his successful line up. As a neutral, it's so disappointing that Man City are likely to win again, but cant say they don't deserve it when Liverpool & Arsenal choke their best chances.
He needs to be sold tbh his a left back that can't defend
ruined my Kiwior fpl pick
So tight games with back 5 and one counter attack can draw a game for Man city, will they loose i guess NO, will they draw yes draw is most likely.. so very very tricky games and results yet to happen, Westham at ETihad will surely park the bus, counter attack and you might not know what could happen... this year City is tricky with back line, you dont know what they will do...
Unai❤
Is micahs haircut really uneven?
As a arsenal man last year it was like it was ours and lost it when i sightly starting to believe again we lose arsenal lost too many games its just over
Arsenal fans learned something at least: Never gas Arsenal
If City draw their next game and Arsenal, Liverpool win theirs, this will get very interesting with 5 games left of the season ❤⚽️

The salt is beautiful from these small club fans so salty thier small teams bottled it 😂😂😂😂😂
Every club over the years has bent rules
2012 when augero scored that goal and i was 7 years old, so I won’t be changing teams
Can anyone help me to understand why Villa wasn't this much tactical agaisnt City? Why Villa didn't put their full best squad against City?
They actually deployed the exact same tactics they were just more depleted. Would have been 1-1 at halftime if Zaniolo hadn't jumped out of the wall. Second half City were better than them whereas arsenal crumbled.
Match of the day need to show these things I think, make for a much better show 🤣
COme on lads, Leverkusen win the league with Nathan Tella, young English lad who was on loan at Burnley last season, and you don't even mention him. Harry Kane 🥱🥱🥱🥱
Money is not the key reason for City's success. It's only part of it. Chelsea spent a £1 Billion, Man Und spent as much and they are mid-table clubs. Real Madrid as well buying the best players especially in the early 00s and they didn't win CL from 2003 to 2013 with the likes of R9, Zidane, Beckham, Owen etc etc.
Liverpool and Arsenal have spent more over the last 5 years than City
@@tomben6180 100% agree. Also City sold players so brought money into the club to balance the books. Mahrez +£30m, C. Palmer +£42m etc
It's much easier to reduce your net spend via player sales.when you overspend and massively enhance your squad value in the prior year(s) 😆
