    BEAUTIFUL. Thanks, doc. This might very well save me for this coming monday; I usually feel so lost during an eye exam, and just know I'm missing steps most of the time.

    Sadly many vets here in the UK still aren’t doing IOP testing of dog breeds prone to glaucoma where the absence of routine health checks is a failure of the profession as a whole. Our 4 year old husky lost his blue eye from glaucoma where we weren’t aware of any such problems until it was too late but have since purchased the TonoVet plus for regular home testing of his remaining eye.

      Sorry to hear about your pet's eye. In fact, Huskies and Boston terriers are the top most predisposed breeds to glaucoma.

    • @ImpartiallySpeaking
      @ImpartiallySpeaking Před 3 lety +2

      @@k.singhthakuri145 Here in Scotland we purchased the TonoVet plus for home monitoring of our dogs IOP. The one thing I was shocked to learn was that Amlodipine isn’t widely used in the United States for preventing spikes in pressure as it is here in Europe.
      Kind regards,
      John

    very good video, however, did not address the difference in two tonometer readings. If one is 14 the other is 8? How would you interpret the results?

    • @calebminger1791
      @calebminger1791 Před 3 lety

      That can be normal variation. Not uncommon. If the dog doesn't have evidence of inflammation, an IOP under 10 is likely not significant.
