Wow I thought I had black screen of death on my PS5, after reading the comments section, I tried turning my tv on and off and it worked
This was the only video that actually helped! Thank you! Unplugging the console and tv and unplugging my external hard drive before turning on tv then starting up with the controller made the black screen go away! Thanks!

i also have this problem with a Samsung tv (AU7000 series to be exactly) the problem is when the tv detects it as a ps5 there is a black screen, to fix it i used a HDMI splitter, but sadly there is no hdr support as my ps4

Bro i have the same exact tv an had the same exact problem where it still says HDR just like yours, in gonna factory reset my tv an see if that works ive literally spent the last 3 hours sweating because i have a Hue Sync box which i thought was part of the problem but when i just tried the ps5 on my TV without the box i realized it was the ps5

I think it's rest mode, I forgot I put mines on restmode so it can download vanguard and I forgot I did that. I went to unplug it to put in on my 4k and it just does the ps logo and go black. Switched tvs to a 1080p it wouldn't even show safemode. Only on the 4k.
I can see ps5 but it too wide doesn’t take up the screen too and bottom just side to side

In the setting go to System, then Power and there’s a “System Restart” option

@@user-ug7mq4zv9b Not particularly. I ended up reseting my whole ps5 from safety mode. It’s honestly seems scarier than it actually is. As long as you have ps+ all of your data is regularly saved so all I had to do was just redownload all my games and get back to it.

Everyone just kept saying safe mode (couldn't access it) or it's a bad cable or it's dead! Just reset my TV's video settings and PS5 came back.
I guess I'll see in the next few days if it ends up doing it again if the issue runs deeper.

@@nnjayy i had to completely reset my ps5 back to factory, if the safe mode doesn’t work your hdmi port might be fried, if that happened you have to contact Sony and work with them to either get your ps5 fixed or they’ll send you a new one, that’s what happened to my friend.

@@jgrimofficial yo need to first, put it on safe mode (pressing the “ON” button till it’s third *beep*) and there there’s a few options on which you have to select “Factory reset” .
My ps5 is done for this is y I can’t trust Sony I was already perma banned on my old account that I spent thousands of dollars on and now my 800 dollar ps5 is broken and I’ve only had it for just over a month now I’ve tried everything and it’s still stuck in the fucking black screen 😡
