Fortunately we’ve only seen 3 bigger in the US since then (correct me if I’m wrong) but in my opinion that is 3 too many. How sad is it that US schools are essentially death zones?

Jake Low it is not having too many guns problem...its a breakdown of family units...lack of discipline...desensitization due to violent video games and movies (that when i was growing up we were not allowed to watch even as teens) its also parents not being more involved in what their children are doing...sticking devices in their hands as soon as they can hold them to keep them occupied..a lack of sunshine and being outdoors (stayong cooped up with make you depressed) treating kids as early as age 3 with antipsychotic and drugs like ritalin when their brains are still forming....bullies are worse than ever because used to you could go home and get away from the people bullying you (now you have social media and texting) also used to when you had enough you could defend yourself with little to know reprecutions...now days the bullied person gets more consequences that the actual bullies...its sooooo much more than guns being too many in number...its a breakdown of society!

I was in third grade at the time. My school was 10 miles away from Columbine. I remember being put on lockdown and all my classmates crying, many of their older siblings went to school there. It was horrifying. Also, many years later, I lived about half an hour from the Aurora theater where the Dark Knight shooting occurred. Gives me chills that my sister and I had bought tickets but then we bailed on them last minute because we felt too tired to go. Shit is crazy out here in Colorado, I always wonder what it would've been like growing up somewhere else. Also can't ever seem to leave and stay away because I do love this beautiful state.

I remember being so annoyed but then the clip of the kid falling out of the window covered in blood came across the screen. I will never forget that. My grandma came in oblivious to what was happening. Neither of us said anything, we were both just silently crying with one hand over our mouths. We watched the news ALL DAY. It seemed to never end.
Cut to a few years later, the aurora theater shooting happened a block away from my house. The sirens woke me up because they seemed to be non stop for at least 5 mins....😢😢

Alyssa Lovejoy it has to happen sadly. It’s nature. Stephen Hawkings claimed mankind’s biggest threat to its survival is reproduction as such a high rate. We only have enough room and resources for so many people on the earth. That’s why the elite came up with the NWO 20-35yrs ago. Which is a result of today’s problems.

I had just turned 18 in April of 1999, a junior in high school.. this turned schools across the country upside down for weeks.. I was in the midwest.. and I remember the day after, we were met with police at all entrances, trench coats were banned, duffle bags were banned.. I had friends who liked to dress in black, and listen to dark music.. they were interrogated and threatened by police.. students were suspended for even the slightest aggressive behavior.. They searched lockers, and some kids had lists of other students in notebooks, not "hit lists" or anything.. but they didn't take any chances, and removed those kids from school for a few days until they could figure out what they were about.. a girl was getting bullied by some other girls and made verbal threats in her own defense and she was suspended.. it was a fucked up time..
The police chief pulled me over after school 2 days after columbine and said "tell your friends there will be zero tolerance for trench coats, duffel bags, or any threats of any kind.. we will arrest anyone we think is going to pull a copycat shooting."

I went from having lots of friends who I grew up with to moving to a shitty school where everyone was rich and acted like they were better than anyone . Teachers did nothing in fact the teachers themselves were rude to me and made me feel like the "bad" one. I was severely depressed at only 9 years old and would fake being sick so I didn't have to go to school. It was hell and no child should ever have to feel that way. I don't know if things are better now but I doubt it since we still hear of these things happening. Worse yet kids are being bullied not only at school but on social media. .makes me glad I grew up before social media became such a huge part of people's lives.

Ellie Hicks there's a book about columbine called Columbine written by Dave Cullen. in it it states that before a girl named Val was shot, one of the guys asked her if she believed in God and she said yes. She survived. When she told her story, no one believed her and thought she was copying Cassie. Then, 2 girls, one who was named Emily, recall that when Cassie was shot, she didn't even had time to speak. Emily was under a table with Cassie in the library, and when one of the shooters found Cassie, he just slammed his hand on the table, peeped down and said "Peekaboo" and shot her. They didn't have time for any sort of verbal exchange.

I’d love to know what they have done to make sure that this “never happens again”. The school I went to as a kid in Santa Fe Texas just had a shooting LAST YEAR that killed 10 people! How damn hard is it to put up some metal detectors and put a couple of cops in the schools? There were literally cops hired to guard the whataburger I worked at overnight 10 years ago, but protecting kids is too much to ask?!?! Homeschool is starting to look better and better for my kid!

Im sorry if this is out of place, but at my school in texas, they have metal detectors and backpack searches, i think a small problem is that some people that search backpacks are too lazy or tired too throughly search it.I think a shooter that is a student could just memorize the people that dont search your backpack well and try to get that person to search it so that they can sneak a weapon in.
Its just something i thought about.

One thing they've learned from most school shootings is the kids were bullied throughout the years. You would think because of that they would try to actually do something about the bullying problem that has just gotten worse over the last 20 years. Instead as schools like my daughter's when there's bullying going on they punish the kids being bullied and make them feel like it's their fault that they're being bullied. And then I question why school shootings are happening more and more often. My daughter has been being bullied for the last 4 years by one in particular girl and when we try to deal with it this cool actually says things and takes actions that make it seem like it's my daughter's fault. To the point my daughter told me stop trying to fix it because she's tired of hearing the counselors and the principal tell her what she needs to change to get the bully to stop. They have to finally step up and do something to see it true change because these shootings are happening every year sometimes a few times a year

While it wasn't the first school shooting, it was very significant due to the extensive coverage and gruesome nature of the various murders and became a template for future school shooting massacres. It was very much a terror attack in that the perpetrators enjoyed and relished in the fear and trauma they created. Somewhat strangely, the shooters left many people alive that they could have otherwise killed. It seems this was intentional, as if they wanted some of the victims to live and remember this terror for the rest of their lives. Evil and psychotic young men (all school shooters are young men) on SSRIs knew how to get back at a society that had, in their minds, wronged them and belittled them.

Lots of things have changed for the worst since but that's just matter of opinion. I recently saw a video shot in almost HD like quality in 1993 of new York city and because the quality looks so good its hard to believe it was filmed in 93. Even some of the people themselves were wearing things that people still wear today. The biggest sign that it's an older video is the old cars and lack of smartphones. Now if you see a video from the 60s,70s and early to mid 80s you can definitely see the difference in clothing style but we haven't changed much since the 90s when it comes to certain things.

I saw another documentary on this. After the SWAT team FINALLY went in, unlocked doors to classrooms where innocent students were hiding, they made the kids put their hands on the top of their head and run. One boy said they it was hard to run with his hands on his head, he just wanted to get out so he put his arms down and started running when SWAT agents stepped out with guns drawn on him and and ordered him to put his hands back on his head! This infuriates me! These kids had already gone through enough. He was hiding in a room with other innocent kids for crying out loud! Was this kind of action really necessary or just a show of arrogance, "I have more power than you! You do what I say!"? Some cops are just plain worthless!

Mama Cat They did this to make themselves sure he wasn’t one of the shooters that day. Keep note that the SWAT team didn’t clearly knew who were the real shooters so they didn’t want to get themselves fooled that easily. You know what I mean?

Yes, actually, it was necessary dumb ass. Yeah, they were all terrified, and probably tired, but law enforcement needs to know where their hands are, because if it was one of the shooters, what if they still had the gun, and started open firing? That's why they have to run with their hands on their head

Hearing him and then listening how trump was god i miss bill i miss having a sane compassionate person who can speak without putting his foot in his mouth. I was a senior in 99 i remember coming home to this on the tv off the bus. I cant believe im now 40 and zero has been done to stop it.
