  • In today’s video Mark McRae, Inaxsys’ s President, will talk about difference between Wiegand and OSDP (Open Supervised Device Protocol). You must know that Wiegand and OSDP are technologies used in access control systems including the access method (card, fob, etc.), reader, and controller☝️.
For more details, please watch this video ✌️.

The ICT implementation of OSDP conforms to a subset of the OSDP V2.1.5 standard specification. Secure Channel Communications is supported with 128 bit AES Encryption 🤝.

Hello Martin, you are very welcome. We are planning on making more videos around card and reader technology in the near future. You will get a notification when they are available. Here is one video about card technology that may interrest you: czcams.com/video/Kz8EGkqpd1I/video.html

I am a plc programmer and am setting up a security access system at our shop and am wondering if anyone has experience in OSDP to a PLC. I will be using an Allen Bradley PLC and probably a RS-485 card in order to communicate. I've just never heard of OSDP, must be a security access control protocol as I'm not familiar with how it works. Any help would be appriciated.

Hello, thanks for contacting us. OSDP is a standard developed by the Security Industry Association (SIA). We do not have experience in OSDP to a PLC but we believe that the link below is a good start in creating your interface. They even offer training and you can purchase the OSDP standard.
