Oh, fun! Out of this batch, I am most drawn to Moon Dust and Brandy Dazzle. Golden Sands looks great, but I don’t know what anwhole block of writing would be like... maybe if you were decorating invitations for a 50th anniversary, it would be ideal. My own personal Shimmer ink is Diamine Shimmertastic Peacock Flare. I haven’t often seen it shown.
When it comes to a gold ink with gold glitter, in my opinion Pelikan Edelstein Golden Beryl absolutely wins - however, this is/was a limited edition, so it's not going to be around forever, which is a shame, as it's simply stunning :)
Cocoa shimmer was my favorite but I really liked all of these! Thanks so much for showing these;) have you tried the DeAtramentis ones? The red gold magenta is a game changer!! The only problem is all these tend to clog up nicer pens! I only use shimmer inks in my twsbi Go pens now.
I think Brandy Dazzle should come with a bottle of brandy. A kilo of chocolate with the Chocolate ink. I have Blue Lightening, Spearmint Diva and Purple Pazzazz. Arctic Blue is next on my list as that shimmer is awesome.
Wow! I really like these! Haven’t tried any shimmering inks myself yet but would love to try out Moon Dust & Caramel Sparkle & the Inferno Orange is also nice! All of them tbh 🙈😅
Golden Sands is such a wonderful ink but it can cause a bit of a fuss in some pens that I’ve used and definitely requires pen flush to fully get the shimmer out of a feed.
After having disastrous results with Caramel Sparkle I stay away from inks with gold particulates. That stuff was a nightmare no matter what I did, and trying to clean it out of pens was very aggravating. I got the impression that the flecks were just too big in comparison to the silver types I've used. Arctic blue is the complete opposite, giving nice results without any problems. I would imagine that the majority of your inks are Diamine, eh?
Some shimmer inks can be worse than others, I always find Golden Sands the worst for particulate clogging. Out of all of my inks, Diamine is my largest amount of ink bottles sitting at 28% followed by Akkerman at 9% and Montblanc and Pelikan Edelstein both sitting at 6%.
Great video. Interesting that you found Golden Sands to be a quite dry ink, the only time I had used it, it literally just dripped out of the pen. I would be writing and about the third word it would just start flowing out in big blobs of ink. If the nib was pointing down it just kept going. Now I'm wondering if it was the ink batch or the pen? I used a TWSBI 580, what pen were you using with it?
The problem with shimmer inks is that the swatch shows it off so nicely but when you write with it nobody would even know. The same goes for dark inks which just look black to me when writing with a fine nib especially.
The pen is the William Shakour Titan, it’s a pen made by a UK Pen Collector William Shakour. I have a review of two of his Titan's at czcams.com/video/2lJrH6Y4Ebw/video.html and another one at czcams.com/video/dweMrPGta5s/video.html He doesn’t have a website, he’s on Instagram as instagram.com/williamshakour and can make pens to order.
I'm a pastel gawl but that moondust is great! do they actually write like this on say a fountain pen? cause i've noticed that some of these mainly work with dip pens it' snot thatthey clog, it's that fountain pens usually don't write that insanely wet enough.
@@PenultimateDave yeah I have emerlad of chivor. and it looks like any other teal on my paper. i think i've gotten unlucky tho. the sample barely had settled shimmer but when I dipped a screwdriver in it and wrote it looked very beautiful

Artic blue is stunning!
Yes, that's true!
Your video helped me a lot to choose ink color, thank you!!
Glad I could help!

I would definitely buy more of the ink if it did come with a bottle of brandy and some chocolate!

Good video I will recommend any ink from Robert Oster shake and shimmy collection especially Violet Dreams

I agree, I find it is one of the shimmer inks that will clog a lot more compared to other shimmer inks.
Thanx mr shimmer Dave !!Arctic Blue + Golden sands + infero Orange !! Mucho boeno ..incridiblo😂😁

I typically use a TWSBI 580AL with my shimmer inks, usually a medium or a 1.5mm stub.

Broad nibs or calig nibs show the ink best.
Nice eye candy, thanks for sharing that ! What do you typically use shimmer inks for ? Journaling, personal notes, correspondence... ?
I don't use them as much as non-shimmer inks but I tend to use them when writing letters more than journaling.
Thanks for sharing again... Quick question, Does Arctic blue sheen on the edges?
Yes it does, only slightly.
Blue Flame looks like one I'd pick up if I didn't have... a ton of Kyanite du Nepal.
What is that pen? Very unusual shape

They all work with fountain pens you just need to rotate the pens a bit before use to free the particles to avoid clogging.

Some maybe coming in a video soon...
How does Blue Flame compare to Diamine Sargasso Sea?
Unfortunately I don't have Diamine Sargasso Sea yet so can't really say.
what pen did you use??
