  • Review of the Mobius action cam. I talk you through the camera, software and show you hours of sample clips in different quality modes and situations. Samples start at 26:42. I now have the Mobius 2 as you can see here • Mobius 2 dash cam test...
    This is an awesome camera that everyone should check out. It works as a full HD 1080p camcorder, a still photo camera and can be used without even plugging it in as it has it's own battery.
    Box contents - Camera, tripod cradle, short USB cable for use with the PC, small Alan key so you can adjust the position of the lens, small Velcro pad (about 5 cm long ans 1cm wide).
    Having said "box contents" It actually doesn't come in a box, It's just all loose in a Jiffy bag but i didn't mind! It charges through a USB lead so no mains adapter is needed but you can buy those online for about £2
    There are different kits available with various accessories. Be sure to order a 3 meter charging cable and USB car power adaptor if you want to plug it in to your car.

      Thanks, that's a good video to demonstrate a common problem. I saw one just like that the day after i bought mine but very annoyingly i had left the lens cap on so i was filming nothing!

    I've got the möbius C3 version (wide lens angle) had it for about a year now and it's been brilliant! Think I brought mine from rchobby for about £60 and a Samsung evo 64gb class 10 sd card for around £18. I highly recommend it aswell as picture quality is superb and there are plenty of mounting options out there online

    Today, August 2nd 2014, there has been a major update made to the software for this camera. It now has many more options for customisation including the ability to record directly in MP4 instead of .MOV files (but this creates gaps between video files). I'll be testing these out over the coming weeks.

    In the latest Firmware updated released on November 29th 2014 they have fixed a bug which caused a line to appear close to the top of video shot with this camera. It wasn't very noticeable but slightly annoying, now it's gone :-D
    There are lots of comments i can't reply to on here because there is no reply button on them for some reason.

    I can't see a viewfinder on this camera - how to you frame your shots?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      You don't really need a viewfinder as it's got such a wide lens that it's hard to get it wrong but if you really need to then you can plug it into a laptop. It's made mainly for attaching to remote control planes or on your head while skiing where a viewfinder wouldn't be any use.

    Is there possible to deled all vedeos out of the camera without hooking to computer?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      No but there's no need to because it just records over the oldest files first and if you really need to delete anything that badly you could always just destroy the memory card!

    Hi can the mobius camera videos be watch thought a HDTV many thanks.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Yes, i do this often. You can plug the memory card from it into your tv or if your TV has no sd card slot then plug it into a memory card reader and then plug that into a USB port. If you have no USB port on your tv then you need to buy a cheap cable that goes from the camera into the tv.

    Been looking for a plain English review and description for this camera, so glad I found this. Ordered mine a couple of days ago on the bay direct from the manufacturer, which is eletoponline for anyone interested. Looking forward to getting mine, will be using it to record inflight footage on rc plane's and multi rotors.

  • @BaddaBigBoom
    @BaddaBigBoom Před 9 lety

    Great review but the screamingly obvious issue with this camera IMO is that there is no display! I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned (or did I miss something?)

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 9 lety

      BaddaBigBoom You can plug it into a phone or laptop to view what the camera is looking at. I've never once had to do this though because it's got such a wide lens that it films whatever you point it at even if you're off target. You can also get a wide lens which covers an extra 40 degrees. Remember as well that this is an action cam. It's not meant to film weddings or holidays, it's made for mounting to radio-controlled planes, underneath cars or on the end of a surfboard where a viewfinder is not needed or wanted.

    I got another quastion please. I insert 32gb memory card in mobius and it records up to 6 or 7 5mins video clips and rest of the 8,9 ... clips my computer says " media connot open this file" any reason why??? Or change settings or ??? I will be very impriciate your help. Thanks

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Sounds like a bad memory card. Try a different one and if that's the same then try updating the camera software. If that doesn't work then the camera is faulty probably. I only ever use Kingston memory cards in mine, i have heard of people buying cheap 32GB cards from ebay and they're actually 1GB cards that have been hacked to say they're 32GB so when you get to the 7th or 8th file the card would be full (even though it shows it's not) and you can get errors like that.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      I also recommend downloading VLC media player if you haven't already. It's free and runs much better than Windows media player, that thing is always freezing on me and crashing when i try and play video but VLC runs fine every time.

      1stdrive My Mobius takes an awfully long time to charge and get going again. Is this typical of all mobius? Or, have I got a dodgy one?

    • @tacomafan7488
      @tacomafan7488 Před 10 lety

      I do believe it takes between 2,3 hours for fully charge. Make sure you use DC5 0.5 wall charger otherwise you can hurt a battery.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Yes, you can plug it into a laptop then operate it as a webcam and the laptop will display what the camera is seeing. I don't think you can do it with a phone.

    Hello
    When my camera is in motion detection mode, when it gets in stadby, after a while it turns off. Is this normal? How can I fix this?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Leonardo Vizzotto You need to turn off Standby mode on the basic tab of the Mobius software.

    • @LeoVizzotto
      @LeoVizzotto Před 10 lety

      Ok, did some testing and realized that the battery was not fully charged it, so she hung up after some time.But I need more help.
      The battery is only lasting 2 hours and 30 minutes in standby mode with the motion detector connected.
      I need it to last longer, you have any tips?
      I thought about buying an external battery, but I believe the connection is USB, the camera will recognize as a pc, and then recording by motion can not be activated.

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Leonardo Vizzotto Connecting it to a USB power bank works fine for me. I don't use it in motion detection mode but my camera behaves the same with an external battery connected as with the internal battery

    • @LeoVizzotto
      @LeoVizzotto Před 10 lety

      What external battery you use? You can do a test with the motion sensor on, to see how it behaves? I would make sure it will work before buying the battery ..I am wanting to use it as a monitoring camera, so all these doubts.
      Thank you

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Leonardo Vizzotto I wouldn't have time to test it sorry but it should work fine. An external power bank will run it fine or just plug it in to the mains.

    does it have continuous recording until the card is film

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      It can either record until it's full and then stop or just start recording again over the oldest files first. Because it's full HD though you do need huge memory cards for it, even a 32GB ard will only fit 3 hours of video on at full quality.

    How can it run from an external power supply? Surely not from a regular electric outlet?

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      It runs from a standard mini USB cable so it can be a mains supply, a PC, external battery pack...anything that you can connect a USB cable to.

    Hello ,Can anybody tell how to use the Mobius as a web cam ?
    Thanks

    • @1stdrive
      @1stdrive  Před 10 lety

      Plug the camera into your booted up PC and turn the camera on so that the yellow light stays on and is not flashing. If you have "Power on - auto record" turned on in the settings then the camera will start recording video once you plug it into a PC so you'll have to turn the camera off and then on again to get the yellow light to stay on.
      The press the shutter button and it will become a webcam, the LED goes green to show this.
