The episode Title "The Spies" was probably them explaining that the mandalorians were the spies on their own home planet finding out about the secret base. The episode started with the spy inside the New Republic , so im assuming that led people to believe there was not 1 but more "spies" as the episode intended.

Except this time, he gets his own mythosaur. The Darksaber might not be fully destroyed though. The hilt was forged from high quality beskar, so it was just bent, just the circuitry was destroyed.

The best part about this season to me is that it didn’t have to rely on Pedro Pascal’s face as a “check the box” moment. We know in reality that he was busy shooting Last of Us and Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, but I feel like a lot of people immediately drew a conclusion that he was going to chuck the helmet for good this season. They also might have skipped Book of Boba Fett, to me it seemed pretty clear that he wanted to remain in the good graces of the covert that took him in as a foundling. There is still so much story to be told in the Mandoverse, and Din Djarin can decide at a later time to truly be his own person and remove the helmet in public with Grogu.
But in reality it was the darksaber that had a ton of baggage and needed to go. There was so much in fighting politics over it and while it was a cool weapon, it was also divisive within the Mandalorian factions. They looked at it more as a politcal motivator than anything else. Also we have to think of the lives affected and taken by that thing, and all it took was a Mandalorian with a good heart and character to let Bo-Katan know that the Saber wasn’t all it was cracked up to be.
I really loved this season overall and I can’t wait for Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew later this year.

I believe that episode 7's title "The Spies" was in reference to the story in the Torah where Moses sent 12 spies to scout out the land of Caanan, before the people retook their promised land. This played out in parallel to how Bo sent in the Mandalorians to scout out Mandalore, before they retook their planet.
There was a lot of Jewish symbolism in this season. Bo was an archetype of Moses, a member of the royal family who was exiled, had a spiritual experience, gathered their people, and led them back to their ancestral home.

I think Woves will, or already has, adopt him out of the mutual respect he shared with Paz Vizsla, even though they've seen themselfs as rivals being one of the strongest of each mandalorian group. Even more so after he heared about Paz' heroic death. This would also explain, why Ragnar didn't have to swear to never remove his helmet when he got baptized.

After saving Din from the storm troopers Din tells him that he has done well and is letting him know that they have to go get Moff Gideon. Din says to him "Are you with me?" and Grogu says "Uh Huh". Those may be casual words but they do convey a meaning. The other thing is that when Ragnar is re-taking the creed in the living waters, the armourer drops the line about never removing the helmet as if to acknowledge that it is no longer a requirement.

I really enjoyed this episode. Just like other seasons (and other shows) there were episodes I’ve watched multiple times and those I have not, so overall another great season with a fabulous ending. I thought the season did take too long to let us know the threat the Mandos would face. This episode had great action, stunning images and I loved seeing Din, Bo and Grogu working together at the end. -Grogu protecting them was also awesome! Not sure how Grogu found Din, guessing he snuck out of view before Pas closed the door and sacrificed himself in the last episode? I liked that we have an idea of the next season that Din and Grogu will have missions (likely tying into Thrawn). I like that they are building toward Grogu being the second coming of Tarre Vizsla with his implied connection to the mythosaur. I’d love to see Bo gift the dark saber crystal to Grogu so he can use it to make a new one that is size appropriate for him and then see her spend time training him to use it. Also have to admit it was amusing there was no big death nor was there another spy as so many CZcamsrs predicted. Pretty sure that title was relating the Mandos to the Biblical twelve tribes sending spies into the promised land.

I loved that jetpack battle, great face off between the two forces. It was a great detail when Din grabbed a jetpack from one of the fallen troopers. I'm looking forward to the Armorer getting some apprentices and and melting down or reusing the armor from those bastard troopers and Gideon's armor. RIP the Dark Saber, I do wonder if it will be rebuilt, there are enough Dark Saber toys out there. Thoroughly enjoyed the episode, here's hoping that the next season isn't too far off.

I think “the spies” is more in reference to the imperial spies planted within every level of the new republic. That’s kinda the vibe I got from the meeting at the start of episode 7. Kinda to show that the empire is still out there and gathering intel from within

That’s how I interpreted it. They were incognito within the New Republic and had a secret base established on Mandalore. Like you said, the empire is trying to rebuild from within. The common theory of the Armorer being a spy just seemed way too big of a stretch. She’s rooted and devoted to the creed. Wouldn’t see any reason why she’d turn against it.

Really loved the giant mandalorian battle in the air, well done!
Given the relative short duration for a finale episode, some plot lines came a bit short in terms of explanation:
    - what happened to the clone scientist after memory removal? Did it work actually?
    - we saw Grogu being rescued from order 66, but what happened after that to Grogu? How did he got from safety hands of a Jedi to the place he was introduced in episode 1 of season 1?
    - Moff‘s obsession with mandalorians is obvious but rarely explained. Only his time in ISB was the reason?

  • @saharameyer798
    @saharameyer798 Před rokem +3

I agree that the fact that Axe Wolves nor the Armor turned out to be spies was not a plot hole or red herring to their storyline. Rather, I think the show did an excellent job of making us - the viewers - suspicious of them throughout this season on purpose. The Mandalorians would be suspicious of one another once they all joined forces. So, those feelings we had is what the Mandalorians were feeling about each other and whether or not everyone can be trusted. It was a relief in the end that everyone was truly on the same side.

Love the Finale! Love the symbiotic relationship demonstrated by Mando & Grogu, demonstrating that the combined skillets can overcome any enemy.
Storyline was great, and looking forward to Season IV!!
Finally calling it now, Grogu will come back and bond/ride the Mythosaur!!!. Also "Spies" can easily be a low key reference to Thrawn having a plant since Gideon had no Love for Thrawn and I'm sure it was reciprocated. Remember Thrawn plays the long game.

Something I thought of was that maybe Moff Gideon has a "test" clone into which his consiousness can be implanted after he becomes the 'briquette'. All the clones we saw were his 'premium' clones, but after they were destroyed by Din Djarin, Moff Gideon had to resort to using his "test" clone, the one that he finally perfected in order to mass produce his 'premium' clones, like the ones that were destroyed.
