For those wondering, the mushrooms he picked are most probably fomes fomentarius, sometimes called tinder fungus, that have been very useful to humans for ages. It can stop bleeding, disinfect wounds and when dried it can also be used to create tinder (firestarter).
I have them in my backyard all the time I live surrounded by trees I see so many of those mushrooms they are very big When they dry they get very hard like rock very interesting what you said it’s good to know

Chinese and Taiwanese people are enthusiastic for this type of mushroom because of their belief that it is benefit in longevity and health (that's in doubt and I do not think those people are able to identify the one from another similar species) . Selling those mushrooms to them might bring a large fortune...
The ingenuity of the mushroom waterwheel is just brilliant.

Water from a constant source is "continuous" ... similar to a mechanical spinner
people been doing waterwheels for centuries probably, it's not that ingenious
