Hamburg is a big City. It would be an extreme hard job to handling someone like Trump and his Secret Service in the middle of the City and there was a huge chance that their reputation could be damaged because of him.
Plus.....even there was a big part of Hamburg a restricted area for the summit, you maybe have heard or seen pictures of the small part of aggressive demonstrators. Every Hotel that would have Trump stay, could have been a target for those.

The hotel room issue might also be escalated by the fact that several hotels outright refused to let him stay there. Also he outright refused to stay in the suite the 25hours hotel chain prepared specifically for him.....

Why does trump slouch? He is supposed to be the power tie guy but in the still with Putin he is slouching and making a vag shape with his hands around the base of his tie.
