10 years later and that guitar rift at the beginning with Marisa's magic circle forming and Yuka's Flower patter of bullets at the end still haunt me the best way possible
I like that Marisa can easily dodge all of the attacks Yuuka throws at her and she STILL takes the time out of her day to kick the shit out of Wriggle.

If you played lost word, they actually show what she would be like as a youkai and she was full of hate for herself. She couldn’t hold back her own power and almost destroyed everything.

Knowing how Marisa fought Remilia (Most likely without the Spell Card rule) and won means that Marisa would truly be unstoppable.
I highly doubt that Marisa was stable enough to follow the Spell Card rule after what happened to Reimu.

But that logic would not apply to Meiling, because she is still classified as a Youkai desire only having one form. There are just exceptions to the common rule, as all rules do.
@@TheYeetiest Yokai is a blanket term used for every supernatural species or being. In other countries there exits similar names for those like Fae, the original meaning of demon(daimon) or spirits. Okabe would be the term beings that can transform into human like Mystia Lorelei, Tei, Reisen, Chen, Utsuho, Rin, Ran, so on.
I thought Meiling was only a human? Ok she has some ki control, but through training, just like Yamcha/krilin. They are powerful, but still humans.

This clip will forever be in my heart, as a memory of the time when I've just began to learn about Touhou. Memory of the time when I was still 14, when the life was simpler, when I was still filled with the child-like wonder and optimism. It was more than 10 years, and yet the music and the animation still give me almost the exact same chills...

The scary thing about her? Her power is to control flowers. But unlike most of the cast, it isn't a seemingly-useless power that's actually stupidly broken (like that bullshit "flying" ability). It explicitly doesn't have any useful battle properties whatsoever. All she has going for her is experience and raw strength. Despite that, _Perfect Momento in Strict Sense_ still lists her threat level as "extremely high".
Yuuka doesn't need the ability to reshape the world, control a fundamental force, or exploit the shit out of something. She's just that insanely powerful all on her own.

One of her attacks in Lotus Land Story was to split herself in two, if that's what you mean.
She was also the first person to use Master Spark. Marisa only started using it in Mystic Square.

okay, THAT was pretty awesome. Hmm hmm, so many things where to pick from, but I think Yuuka deflecting the Spark with a single arm and umbrella is pretty awesome.
However, maybe it's the Magicannon vs Dual Spark that takes the cherry
True, but the reason he made touhou, infact team shanghai alice is for his music. Fun Fact: the kanji "team" portion of the company name actually is for symphony.
The real reason is that ZUN makes the games because he likes making games. Maybe he doesent like making anime?

According to legend, Zun only makes games while blackout drunk because that's the only time Yukari pops out of a gap to tell him about recent happenings in Gensokyo.
This causes Zun to concoct a bullet-hell based on whatever happened.
Maybe, but one of the main reasons why I think he doesn't make anime is that he didn't want an official anime to limit the community's fan-works. The game has a story and briefly explains the characters, but doesn't fully flesh it out so the community can make fan-made creations.

Nothing wrong with making an anime out of a game series...from what I understand, there's literally dozens of characters with well written out story lines. Plus, you KNOW the fans out there would watch it and buy the episodes!

I always end up watching this video believing It's another video, and always end up watching It.
Actually I thought ZUN, didn't wish for an anime because it will give the characters alt. personalities.
Pretty sure the game itself already gives the character personalities.
Also, I believe ZUN didn't want an official anime for Touhou which would mess with the "canon" part and limited the creativity of other fan-make works. I think that ZUN is fine with fan-made anime, or even might be part of a non-canon anime/fanwork, but that's what it is "non-canon".

Zun is like Suika. One sober moment and the world ends for sure.
Zun doesn't want Touhou to have an anime because he wants it to be the game that makes it popular, not the anime. However, I think most people become fans of Touhou because they first see anime PV's. That's at least how it was for me and face it before you all knew that Touhou is a game, you probably asked yourself "What anime is this from?"
ConfuzedAnimeFan actually for me i knew touhou as "a really hard bullet hell" (since i didnt know that its name was touhou at the time) then i saw the touhou bad apple video (the one that become quite popular) in 2012 (some years later after knowing the games) then in 2017 i was on twitter and i click someone's profile and they have a link to a youtube video called "night of nights phone remix" i listen to it and then click the night of nights music and then i start listening to touhou's soundtrack and i eventually find out that the bullet hells that i so much wanted to play and always liked since i was a kid were called touhou and were in front of my eyes since so many years.
TL;DR i came to know about touhou through other methods other than anime pvs.
I searched this for months and day, finally its here!!!!

@kiraina25 My mistake, I had an improper translation of one of Yuugi's spellcards, It had "Feat of strength : Storm on mount ooe" / "Feat of strength: Wind blowing down from mount ooe" translated as "Feat of Strength: The throwing of mount ooe"...
That said, Suika has a spellcard in SWR called "Throwing Mt. Tokagushi", and an improved version called "Throwing Atlas"... There's also all the Mt. Ooe cards that heavily suggest crazy stuff happens there all the time.

Considering the popularity of touhou, i don't see how zun couldn't pick up a publisher for it on his own terms. Most of the reason Zun doesn't go for an anime is no publisher would be interested in allowed the rampant copyright breeches that Zun allows with his doujin rules.
Atleast, that's my take on the situation.

There are series of manga, I have a few of them here along with the novel for Silent Sinner in blue. It's not just the copyright, it's creative rights as well to the project. I mean, there is that one anime that was made by a studio (not a midsummers dream or that one retelling of EoSD), but it hasn't been released on disc due to zun not having been involved with it, and zun not granting rights for the store chain to actually sell it.

well, if he sanctioned the production of an anime and was to write the script and dialog (like he does with the official manga) then there wouldn't be any alt personalities.
The post was mostly done as a silly response, but when it comes down to it ZUN intentionally does not flesh stories out, and with an anime things would have to. If he tackled stories from the games, he would have to ruin the choices. But if he tackled other fresh plots, it could be possible, but X fan would still be upset.

A: Zun would have to hire a large scale animation team so it would be done right along with voice actors/actresses that would stay on the project for a long time; or
B: Zun would have to stop drinking so much so his art could get better, and we most certainly can't have that! :p

@dsrtpunk When you have oni who get piss drunk, and as a *game* in their drunken antics throw a mountain halfway across a continent and accidentally start a war between gods that lasts several generations and upsets the balance of things for several *centuries*.... one would think that's not entirely peaceful. It's more filled with random events that you have to try and figure out how the hell you're going to deal with / work around.
