Big thanks to Scott Stephens
Thank you to Marc Stern and SidneyBird for the correction. This game is from 1974, not 1972.
Best Captains of the Roller Games #1 ) Judy Arnold Philadelphia #67 #2 Judy Sowinski New York Bombers # 41 # 3 ) Diane Syversion Detroit Devils # 27 These were by far the best skaters and best Captain for their teams. Really miss Ronnie Raines!
This game is from 74. International Skating Conference. Sowinski was with NY Bombers until the end of 73
I've been looking forward to watching this game all week. I had my notification on.
Great game nice to see the TBirds
I remember when Canadian All Stars and Los Angeles T-Birds skating in Detroit.
I cant believe who won! LA tbirds were like the LA DodgersâŠ..they ended up with the other teams best players lol.We Milwaukee residents used to get LA tbirds every Saturday at 1 pm. There was also a Milwaukee team that aired every week that i didnt watch for some reason. There was something about the LA Birds. I once sent them money for a program and some advertised autographed pictures of Reilly and a large african american jammer whose name escapes me, pretty sure its the man selling the program here. Also Sam the Man. I never got anything in return. Anyhow this is GREAT and i suspect that there is MORE, PLEASE tell me there is MORE. The bumps these athletes took appear to be far worse than wrestlers took.
This game can not be from 1972 looking at the lineup of each team, it has to be at least 1974. It's good game that I've seen before but I was so hoping for a game from 1972
Kinda funny...Danny Reilly didn't act like that when they were at home in LA.
Wait...Skinny Minnie Miller and Diane Severson skated for Canada??? (I'm only a couple minutes in, so not sure about the guys yet.)
Sam the Man Washington and Frankie Macedo! Did the Canadians need to borrow some T-Bird skaters to fill out their line-up?
The best Captians in were Roller Games were: #1 Judy Arnold , #2 Judy Sowinski , #3 Diane Syverson . sorry to tell you but Sally Vega was so lame!
A shining example of why I never cared for "Games." Everything was so scripted--right down to the outcome of the game. In Roller Derby, the second you "slugged" someone, that was a penalty. These clowns did everything and all the officials did was...nothing. What a shame; Games had some very good skaters. However, their skating usually played second fiddle because they had to sell their shenanigans. "Skinny Minny Miller the greatest Canadian skater ever"? Really? I guess that's completely overlooking her time with the T-Birds.
