Sweet rig. Lot of parts going in and making it even better. I did the Reef's 2K servo, Treal Axles and Shock towers on mine. Aside from needing better foams? I'm thrilled with it the way it is. Such a great trail rig and it works in the crawling too. Have fun and keep the videos coming!
I’m surprised you haven’t ripped the tires off the rims yet. In the slo-mo shots you can see how much of a stretch the sidewalls are getting.
I knew you would put every single part that vitavon makes on that beast. Man that thing has to be pushing 30 to 35 pounds lol. It looks fun on 8s but man you got some serious money in it.

@@ExocagedRC it’s a beautiful Rc though. After seeing you build yours and how well it looks like it handles and drives I wanna keep me one. I probably will when spring rolls back around and work picks back up.

I don't know for sure but I think the Axial SCX6 has the same size wheels as the Losi Super Rock Rey, but if that's the case, there is Proline Hyrax in the size. I know the tires are overall the same height. I'm about 75% sure the wheels are the same size. What I'm getting at is the Proline Hyrax would probably be great on the SCX6 and the Hyrax will have a bit stiffer sidewall which with all the extra weight your SCX6 has might be a great option. Just putting that out there.

Awesome video bud. Im beginning to wonder if castle already had a heads up on the bigger crawlers in the making. Reasoning behind putting the "crawler/rock bouncer" setting. Lock the diffs up in the xmaxx it could be an ok crawler.
xmaxx transmission is not geared for crawling

I actually think this truck is a great in the middle basher /trail /crawler truck.
Where as the traditional bashers are not trail trucks at all really. Lol.
I also had this idea probably around the time Axial started the design for a 6 or 5th scale solid axial truck that could be built to bash a little more & bigger because the after market with materials has gotten so good.
This is how we got bashers invented in the mid 2k’s.
I had high hopes for the stock motor combo that was part of my decision in picking mine up when I seen that huge sensored motor but your right that esc really held it back, after 2 or 3 runs I went to running the mmx8s and 1717 on 6s now it is perfect

I bought nearly every VITAVON part you have... Just need a better servo and MAMBA X 8S esc. Though likely I will have to destroy the original RTR stuff first. 4S oughta fix that 😁
Then I'll series harness them 4 S batteries for some real fun 🤪
Only thing is Horizon Hobby has yet to deliver me the Trail Honcho I paid for. So much for the overnight shipping fee I added on to that purchase. Horizon Hobby is transcending to a new system right in the middle of my ebay purchase. I have to wait until the 18th so I can get an ebay refund and buy the dang rc truck on AMAZON Prime. (which I should have done in beginning) So I'm sitting a mega fortune of hop parts 😯 But besides that hiccup I'm following you closely. (copying you actually. LoL) When I get done I will have spent over $ 4-5 K on this toy altogether. (including the initial RTR)

Hey, awesome collection of SCX6 videos. I am interested in putting in a MMX8S, too. How did you mount it? GPM motor mount? Or did you print something for it?
How or where did the original skid get cracked? Was it when u was jumping the pipes, or a hard landing from jumping it? Or....??
I have never wanted a SCX6 so much until now, who cares how much you have in it, that's your business everybody that's watching should know it's a expensive hobby...as they say if you have to ask its not for you....but anyway very cool. 👍👍

Sure. And the 1717 castle would be awesome.
But you might rather have the 1100 or 800 kv castle tho for a lower crawl capability control like Joe has on 6s. Because he is running the 1717 on 8s I think on this build vid today .
You could have the same speed as joe’s here too with a 6 s 1717 .
He just has it geared at the bottom. But it could stand a 14,15 or even a 16 tooth pinion to actually do the same .
I don’t think you could tell a huge difference over all running that low of a gear ratios.
But if gearing it up ,then you would be able to tell a lot more .
His speed differences on 6s i think was only like 4 mph. In 2nd gear on top speed .
But I think you could gear it up on the pinion and still keep it great to crawl.
To get the best throttle control you would need the 14 tooth .
I’m not sure about the tooth options for the spur yet.
I am still researching.
Bcuz I am looking to build /buy this truck in prices to built one the short route. Lol. Joe goes the long way most of the time by getting RTR’s.
A person could save A-lot (probably 1500$ for a total cost instead of 3500 ) by building one in pieces. And getting the TREAL housings .
They are cheaper metal parts that are almost as good.
Vitivon is just hard to beat as far as technicals & designs . But those little things are where you pay the bigger price for his stuff.
In some parts it’s just a bigger barring is all you get over TREAL piece or something like that. And they are hundreds less in total cost of everything together.
Or I am thinking we could save a lot from what I have seen so far .
Buying the trans in single pieces would be the biggest worry of mine.
Because the rest is what it is.
With exception to the axels themselves. They gotta be reused out of the stock parts.
I actually think this truck could be built for 1500$ (maybe even cheaper) without the electrics .
Which most of us already has . Like me.
I’ll just run my max 6 in my revo on 8 s & put it into this.
Wonder if a 2028 800kv would fit in there

Well I had one guy get all crazy mad that I made a crawler faster sooo I wanted to see how slow it could go on 8s.
That’s the cost of a good used car. WOW but I come from a mountain bike background & have bikes worth 10000$ so RC’s to me are much cheaper. A fork alone cane be 1200$ easily.
Wow. Buddy I haven’t found a cheap hobby ever. Well some start off cheap but once you really get into them… you know how that goes.
