The Best Amish Countryside - Holmes County Ohio

Holmes County, Ohio, is simply the most beautiful area we have visited on this trip! Rolling green hills, amazing farms and landscapes, and truly nice and respectful people. We spent our time here driving through the countryside admiring the countryside and how clean and incredibly maintained everything was.
We visited several small towns, including Berlin, Sugarcreek, Walnut Creek, Mt. Hope and Beach City. Along the way we saw the world's largest cuckoo clock in Sugarcreek, the largest Amish auction house in Mt. Hope and buggies, buggies and more buggies. The people we met and talked to were genuinely respectful and very cordial. The all welcomed us where ever we went. We did learn that the Amish are very big fans of fried chicken, mashed potatoes and home made pies!
We were able to see an Amish horse auction that was incredibly fast paced and active. Couldn't understand anything they said but it was awesome to be there! Went to a Quilt festival and saw many beautiful quilts and homemade items from the Amish community. Nancy even won a door prize!
