[SFM] Star Wars Vader: The Insurgency Remastered

- The Empire has taken over the galaxy with an iron fist. The once prospering Republic has been dismantled and corrupted. However hope still lives on. An Elite Commando Unit known as Delta Squad refuses to let the Republic fade into history. Freeing their fellow Clones of servitude from the Empire, the troopers go into hiding. Delta Squad holds knowledge capable of crippling the Empire from within. They must be stopped AT ALL COSTS!
This remaster took 2 and half months to make, almost as long as the original. I'm excited to finally release what I've been working on for so long.
Be sure to stay for the post credit scene!
I always loved Star Wars: Republic Commando and I was interested to see how they could handle Darth Vader. I felt Clone Commandos have been underused in Star Wars media and I want to show how cool they can be! With The Bad Batch coming out soon, could the plot be similar to this with Clone Force 99 facing off against the Empire?

God, I really hate the Empire after what it did to clones. It turned them on each other and tossed them away as well as destroying their home.

This deserves full animation glory. I recommend asking Loacher Films to make this their next project to bring to life. The premise of a clone underground struggling to free their brothers while evading the Empire, is worthy of a novel.

It is a novel. Obviously not this exact story but the idea is the plot to book three of the commando series which is a legends not cannon book so you know it’s good.

They are actually Shadow Clones. Not sure if they are still canon, but they are in Legends.

Really great work with the animation! It was so sad to see death of delta squad, but I loved vibes from the old republic (Sev with grenade scene). Keep doing like this, I hope you will get more fame!

Well, that actually does explain the strange plot twist with Sev being Force Sensitive. And it was kinda satisfying to realize those clone commandos he killed in the jungles few episodes later were not Deltas. And his hallucinations of those being actual Deltas could easily be interpreted as Sev just being shell-shocked and mentally tired. And the lightsaber...well...there could still have been some Dark Jedi lingering around, as well as Holocrons to learn from. The only question being: who trained him? But that's the one that can pretty much cliff-hang for now.
Great job, in other words.
well since Sev is Force Sensitive, no way would he train with the Jedi. that would have made it too easy for Vader to take control and dominate the duel.

Just imagine if Delta Squad actually lived long enough to not only defy and defect from the Empire, as well as find a cure for their accelerated aging, but also joined the Rebel Alliance and even helped Luke, Leia, Han & Chewie with most of their missions and adventures during the events of the Original Trilogy.

I find the use of Patrol Troopers at the start weird, seeing as they a police, but other then that, Good work! For the Republic!
Yeah I used them due to lacking a proper phase 3 clone model. But I was trying to show the transition from standard clone armor to pseudo stormtrooper gear. I justified it by saying that the patrol troopers were originally used as a form of phase 3 clone armor before becoming standard patrol units years later

I respect the great effort put into this animation. It has many things for which I don't like Star Wars and abandoned the fandom(way too much OP force, force user clones, etc.), but it's still better than the sequels and 90% of Star Wars fan films hands down, and a good old clone rebellion was always a great idea.

i love the small detail at 10:07 with one of the clones in a pool of blood as that one clone was not killed by blaster fire or vaders lightsaber those two things burn the wound shut.

This is really good! There's definitely some really good underlying technique going into it, and I feel like you could really unleash your potential with something like Blender and a bit more lighting and animation experience. Work on those areas and you'll be set!
Thanks! Blender is something I’ve been looking into recently. Once I get a bit more experience and eventually upgrade my pc, I’ll likely move over to Blender.

I did end up asking Loacher films, unfortunately, he had too much on his plate to take on the project but the series will continue in SFM regardless. The next episodes are already out.
This gave me some strong Halo vibes, good work.
Thanks I've always kind of looked at commandos as somewhere between a Spartan and an ODST so there's definitely some Halo influence there.

No I used a generic bullet metal ricochet sound effect. If you search “bullet hits metal ricochet free sound effects” on CZcams it should show up

Love this video! Also, I got the rp star destroyer map from gmod and I put it into source filmmaker and stuff but when I hit open nothing happens. Do you know a solution?
Did you extract the map GMA file through the Gmad extractor? It should be in the Bin folder or somewhere in the Addons folder. Drag and drop the GMA file over the gmad.exe and you will receive a folder with the map contents. Then drag those contents into your sfm maps folder
@@andrews05 yeah I used gmad and put stuff In it just doesn’t open. Should I reinstall it? Same happened with the Death Star. If you have discord I could say more like pictures and stuff but all other maps like the “tttt star destroyer” (made by the same guy with the original map) work and mustafar. I’m actually just trying to find an imperial command bridge but I can’t find any except the star destroyer that doesn’t work

@@ThatOneSerbianGuy I got them through Garry's Mod. You may want to look up how to extract Garry's Mod maps to SFM.
The Garry's Mod maps I used are: SW Map: Deathstar, rp_denon_v2, [rp] Deathstar, and either Coruscant or Coruscant V2
The SFM map I used is Sfm_Suspiscion

Someone forgot that Sev is and will remain MIA now that Disney has owns Star Wars and KT will no longer write Star Wars books. This was near the beginning of Episode I TPM so Sev being in these Videos, let alone the main Character and being close to 20 years after he went MIA makes no sense let alone him having the force. With that said I always thought it would be cool for one of the clones to be force sensitive, though I always thought Fordo would have been the best choice to be force sensitive but I am enjoying these videos nonetheless.
I agree that Disney probably will never show what happened to Sev (as much as I'd like them to). But my videos actually take place only 3 years after Revenge of the Sith which was when Sev went MIA. Also, I'm trying to follow the canon timeline while introducing components of legends. Before Republic Commando 2 was scrapped, Sev was originally supposed to survive and be a rebellion leader in the sequel. In my videos, I decided for Sev to be found and rescued by Delta, later becoming a sort of "rebellion leader" in the "Uprising" series. Since we don't know much about Delta in canon, whether they stayed with the Empire or deserted at some point, I took some creative liberties. Nonetheless, glad you enjoy the videos!
@@andrews05 Yeah so much got scrapped when Disney was in talks about buying Star Wars. A lot of Authors stopped writing books they were already working on including KT. She had the next book of Imp. Troopers and a Boba Fett book that she stopped writing in the middle of both. Only a few of the old Authors still write Star Wars books. I don't know anything about the DSWU as I don't like Disney as it is and so far from what I have seen and heard about this new SWU it is total trash and I'm not surprised.
