The idea came from a Facebook commenter who saw a video of me and my family floating down the river in Island Park. The person said I should turn the tables and interview my dad (Nate Eaton) - so I did and the rest is history!
Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most popular comedians in the country. He is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best-selling author of 26 books. Widely known for his redneck jokes, Jeff also hosted ‘Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader’ and ‘The American Bible Challenge.’
A new special starring Jeff called ‘The Good Old Days’ was just released on Netflix and he agreed to sit down and answer my questions!
Here’s what I asked him:
How did you get your start as a comedian?

I want to see if you’re smarter than a 5th grader. So I’m going to ask you if you know the answer to this question: What is the biggest planet in the solar system?

That was probably about 2 1/2 years ago since there was snow on the ground. So I think you’re going into 5th grade this year. I loved that you asked Jeff a “smarter than a third grader question” and I have two suggestions for this coming year if interviews.
The first is that it would be fun to have you interview Jeff again during your 5th grade year and ask him a 5th grade question.
The second is that maybe you could have that be one of your bonus questions and ask all of your interviewees a “smarter than a 5th grader” question.

Ive watched several of your interviews Emmy!! You are very intelligent and funny, and yu'all come up with great questions. I really like that you allow your guest to fully answer the question, and when the answer goes off on a tangent you readily allow the guest to continue without cutting them off or "wrangling" them in(like all talk shows do). One of my favorite interviews, and which I became hooked on your CZcams channel is your interview with Mike Rowe who is one of my few favorite humans!! Thank You for that! Oh and your interview with his mom was brilliant! Cracked me up!! If I were to have any constructive critique, it would be to ask if you could step down your speech pattern and maybe enunciate a little more. But again you are doing a brilliant job as an interviewer. OH and my other fave human is Drew Berrymore! Gonna see that interview right after this one!! Keep doing what you're doing!! 🤩
