    Smt Rajalakshmi Vishwanathan from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
    Guru Smt Rajalakshmi Viswanathan hails from the lineage of Umayalpuram Shri Sundara Bagavathar - a direct disciple of Saint Thyagaraja.
    She holds a First Class in Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA - Carnatic Music) from the prestigious Annamalai University. She also pursued her Diploma in Carnatic Music from Mumbai University through Shanmukhanda Sabha.
    Smt Rajalakshmi has learnt under various renowned Gurus like her illustrious grandfather Manjakudi Shri Subramania Bhagavathar (maternal grandson of Umayalpuram Sundara Bhagavathar), Smt Rukmini Appu (shishya parampara of Tiger Varadachariar), Shri VS Babu (a disciple of Shri GNB), Sangeetha Kalanidhi Dr S. Ramanathan, Shri PN Krishnamoorthy.
    Through her institution, 'Gananjali' founded in 2000 at Thane (Mumbai), she has imparted music to over 300 students.
    Over the years, she has given several performances in sabhas and temples of Mumbai. During the lockdown too she has been presenting online concerts on Facebook and CZcams which has been well received by music lovers and critics alike.
    She is an active participant and lead singer at Thyagaraja Aradhana conducted by various sabhas and music institutions in Mumbai. With her profound knowledge of Carnatic music and over 25 years of rich teaching experience, she has judged music competitions held in the city.
    Notably, she was the judge for the Mumbai auditions of Sangeeth Samraat - a Carnatic music reality show conducted by Sankara TV.
    Her students have been participating and have won prizes at competitions conducted by sabhas. Additionally, she gives advanced level training and her students have rendered solo concerts successfully.
    She was honoured by Kalamandal, Thane in recognition of her contribution to further the cause of Carnatic Music.
    She is looking forward to contributing her little share towards spreading the ocean of Carnatic Music by giving performances and conducting Music classes and considers it her fortune to do so.
