Fly Tying Tutorial: Card's Cicada (variation) by Fly Fish Food

Our buddy Charlie Card ties up a mean cicada pattern. We (of course) tweak it a bit for this tutorial. Great pattern either way!

Though I am not fond of tying foam flies they certainly have their place in the water. This looks really good but wouldn't do here. Maine, if they have cicada's I haven't seen them yet. Yeah, they will and they have. Maybe not a cicada, but a grasshopper etc.. I just don't like the look of the flies. I wouldn't open my box often here if it were full of them. Traditional natural materials are more accepted here. All the best, thanks for answering. Sean
