Rob, I wish you had included the ones by Maelove and ELF. I recently got the G&G one but, even though it was initially affordable, the cost of shipping doubled the price. Some positives are that I received it from Budapest only three days after I ordered it (I'm in the U.S.), and so far I'm really loving the product! But it would be nice to have a great product that I don't have to buy from the other side of the world, and these two that I mentioned above look promising. Great review buddy! Have you tried Avene hyaluron active b3 multi intensive night cream? . It's formular is 1% retinal, 2% niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.
I've been using Avene for years (no scent in the US!) and I still really like it. However, in the last six months I've discovered Medik8 which I absolutely love and have recently graduated from 10 to 20 with no issues. I really like the formula, it is not drying and the scent does not annoy me. Right now I tolerate the price. I really like this comparison format a lot. I'd like to see more of it.
I swear I will never use another retinal/retinoid other than A-Game 10. It's so gentle yet so effective. And affordable! G&G really outdid themselves with that product.

Just a small correction. US Avene retrinal is the equivalent to Avene's A Oxitive night serum, not Avene's Physiolift.
Two different serums and although both have retinal, the A Oxytive one is Retrinal's equivalent.
Canada Avene shows this on their website and several European Avene sites confirmed this as well.

i wanted to love the Geek & Gorgeous A Game but it has panthenol which breaks me out and irritates my skin. i tried it in the hopes that it wouldnt but nope it irritated my skin so i am hoping the market will come out with more retinal products that might suit my needs. thank you for the video as always very informative and to the point.

I use the A-game 101 after watching your recommendation. There is nothing not to like, ticks all the boxes for me and although I've not bought it from the UK site as yet (was out of stock), the delivery from Hungary is only two days to the UK which is fantastic. Great product and a great company 👍
When it comes to retinoids I love products from BasicLab. Especially the corrective serum with retinal 0.07%, phytosphingosine and carnosine 2.0 and their emulsion serum with 1% pure retinol, 5% vitamin C and 2% stem cells.

Love geek and gorgeous a game 5, I had developed a sensitivity to retinoids since hitting 50 and this worked beautifully, no irritation; trying medik8 to see how it compares (the 3 or the 6) because of the recs here. 😊
I’ve been using the Avene Retrinal and in the States there is no scent. I like it a lot. I had used Rx tretinoin off and on for years and frankly hated it because I just couldn’t use it consistently enough w/o having to adjust all my other products for the seasons or what not. Finally I had enough and went to otc retinal and not looking back. Avene has been great. I can use it with zero issues every night. Intrigued my Medik8 but not sure about the price. Avene has lasted me awhile but may try Medik8 when I’m out of it.

I’ve been using the Avene Retrinal and I like it. They often have sales on their site. Some of Avene’s products I have, have a fragrance that I actually like! I guess I like 1920s drawer liners! 🤣. But the retrinal I have doesn’t have any scent at all. Hmm.

I love the peach and lily Retinal serum, as well as Youth to the people serum. Naturium and Beauty of Joseon have affordable options too. I love the geek and gorgeous one too. It was my first Retinal experience.

Ok very interesting the Avene I order had no fragrance I committed to Avene for a good 2 yrs and amazing results l loved the results I was getting and it was pretty quick mind you I already was using retinol before and upgrade to there 0.1 with absolutely no issue but that price was just too high here in the states I noticed it doesn’t spread well so I went through the bottles quick making it very expensive I am currently back to G&G which I had tried a year ago and stopped because I favored Avene and at the time I could afford it now I have been using G&G and am committed to them the price and results are great without over paying it’s about being able to commit to the product especially for people who are into healthy aging and don’t want the Botox’s or fillers spf and vitamin A are a must and I’m pretty grateful for a product like a-game 10 I noticed G&G had been suggesting to layer it with there stress less beta glucan which I’m interested In Trying as I love oat and it’s benefits for the skin that’s gonna be my next G&G purchase
Loving Medik8 Retinal 10 and just now bumping up to 20! Love the consistency, the smooth application and the fragrance is subtle. Also using Avene retinal eye cream. It is very nice too, don't notice the fragrance around my eyes 😂. I alternate these products with my RX tretinoin .05 and 1.0 so it would be really hard to distinguish which product is truly working for me but, tretinoin would probably be #1. That said, I love the Medik8 so much that I prefer it over everything else. I bought it on sale each time I purchased it so was able to get a break on the higher price point! Hello to everyone! I have been wondering about the strength percentages of Retinal. I have been using G&G A game 10 , but I don't know if it is doing anything for my mature skin. Anyway, is 0,11% or 0,15% Retinal strong? A game has 0,1%, is that weak? Thanks in advance, love your channel ❤️
My first OTC retinal is Avene. I have combination rosacea skin. When I first used it, I worried about the irritation. But my sensitive skin really like it, my rosacea got even better for that.

I am asking what's the difference for the quality, as it seems that both Medik8 and Geek and Gorgeous can give more or less he same equivalent result on he skin.. I have been using the Medik Crystal ( in a lower concentration to start) for about a month and love it. It's about $53 in the states. Still high, but worth it. My skin loves it and I'll keep using it and going up in strength.

I believe the Avene Physiolift is 0.5 retinal (the one we can buy here and in Europe). I again believe it’s only 0.1 retinal in the USA version of Retin A? But I could be very wrong?

Hey Rob can u share how long did the A game 10 took for u to see initial results? I hve been using it from like 1-2months with below steps bt don't see any change in smile lines

Avene offers different product "names" in Canada and the US. I'm not sure if in the UK there are again differences. Physiolift in Canada anyway (not sure about the UK) only has 0.05% Retinal. This is what customer service told me:
A-Oxitive Peeling Night Cream: 0.1%
Physiolift Night Balm: 0.05%
Physiolift Eye Cream: 0.015%
I would like to add that I use the A-Oxitive Night, and it has no detectable fragrance... and I don't believe fragrance is part of the ingredient list. Physiolift DOES have a fragrance. I tried that but don't like fragrance, plus in Canada... it is a weaker formula.

Great video! Dry sensitive skin over here, and I use agame 5 retinal, as my first retinol ever, I expected dryness, sensitivity, anything really, but nothing! My skin looks and feels great, it is hydrating which is mindblowing for me. I've got redermic and cerave retinol unopened, and now I'm really not sure if I should just stick to G&G. Thanks to you I gave this brand a chance, and now I use cglow, liquid spray, stress less and got apad for my teen girl, great brand really and so affordable.

I also use BOJ 2% Retinal eye cream with geek & georgous, mix together. My skin is tolerant of vitamin A so no worries. X

I was put on Dermatica 0.015 + 4 Niacinimide + 4 azalea, used every other night . After 3 applications I was very red, gave it a few days off then went for it again and within 5 minutes turned into a sore tomatoe. Took it off. I would say that I now have sensitive skin. I want to try retinal but all yours have number 10. If I tried the geek and gorgeous which one do I start with and how to progress. Same with the Medik8 please

I find that G&G A-game 10 is great - very gentle, actually more gentle than Retinol. I use Tret on my face but my neck cannot tolerate it - so I use the A-game on my neck and chest.

The Avene one comes i two versions, one with fragrance and one without! The one without is called A-Oxitive Night Peeling Cream in Europe.
I don't understand why a high quality brand like Medik8 would put fragrance and known allergens in their products. I would love to try the Medik8 retinal but the Avene one is my choice since it's so 'clean' when it comes to ingredients. Never had any reaction even though I am very reactive and prone to allergies.

In Italy it's called Avene A-Oxitive Night Peeling cream and it retails for 40 euro, but you can find it online for 25 euro

Can you immediately use this if you're skin is not used to these kind of products? Or is it better to first use it once a week and go up from there? Which step in skin care routine is this? I use sunscreen and moisturizer and want to use agririline from the ordinary but in what order?
I started using the a-game5 from geek and gorgeous everyday for the first time and have had no issues with it whatsoever.
I usually use their serums, the retinal, moisturiser then sunscreen
I’ve sadly bought 2 avene physio lifts because they were £7.50 at boots and I went a bit mad. I’ve been using it now for months consistently - on my second bottle. This is NOT comparable to Medik8. The Medik8 is SUPERIOR.

I thought The Avene Nighttime eye serum did leave my eyes irritated
I apply the G&G A-Game 0.1 all over my face, including on my eyelids and lips and I get absolutely no irritation from it. I've used it for about a month now. This actually worries me a little bit because it makes me wonder how "active" the active ingredient (retinal) really is. I realize lack of irritation doesn't necessarily equal lack of efficacy but I can't help being a little bit concerned, given that irritation is supposed to be a very common side effect of retinoids in general. Curious if anyone else here has had the same experience (i.e. no irritation)?

The question would be did you previously use a retinol product if you transitioned from
Retinol to Retinal it can be much easier for the skin to acclimate without issue because of the one step conversion vs the 2 step conversion retinols go through also the other items In Your regimen can play a factor in avoiding issues some users experience
@@domingosantiago4813 I have used other retinal serums before this one so that could be why, I guess. It just seems weird to me that I can rub the a-game serum directly on my lips and eyelids without even a hint of irritation or dryness. 🤨
I always have good skin tone and texture the following day after using G&G A-Game 10. Of course, it's subjective but I notice those subtleties as I rotate different skincare products. Having said that I will be using the Medik8 in the next few months for comparison.

I've been using the Crystal 10 for ages tried the Crystal 20 eventually. The Crystal 20 made my skin freak out though haha

@@angelascott4073 Yes, I did. I used 1 tube of each and followed the instructions each time like 2 days a week at first (what ever the starting instructions are). The last jump to Crystal 20 I just couldn't do because it made me break out so much. Crystal 10 is still good though :)
The Avene RetinAL is a completely different formulation to the Physiolift in Europe. There is no fragrance in the RetinAL and contains antioxidants, which is why it's around $70. I bought one from the US, and it's far superior to the version sold here in the UK and lasts a long time as you only need a small amount. I use it with cetephil rich night cream, which is just £10 containing niacinamide and panthenol and vitamin E.
I don't believe the US version of the Avene Retinal 0.1 contains fragrance. Please be aware.

Haha I use G&G A10 with MAS moisturizer and I love it! Been experimenting with G&G A5 and my neck and eye area tolerates it very well 👍
Under those I use MAS Serum and I think it's why the most delicate areas are not irritated.
I used to use the Avene one but switched it because of the animal testing. I don't see much difference in the results.
You know me, the voice in my head screams ” TRET TRET TRET TRET”… so I have to go for the closest thing to it which is the Crystal 20 . I just pay the prize and cut down on food instead … 😂lol

@@thesandrabilling Well, the Crystal 20 contains 0,2% retinaldehyde which seems to be the highest over the counter retinoid available at the moment. And as I live in a country where tretinoin is not available at all ( not even on prescription), the Crystal 20 is as close as I can get to tret.

I use cos de baha 2. 5% retinol. Super cheap and non irritating. Had a good go at G&G for many months, didnt do anything.. But in all honesty, I'm not sure retinal or retinol are doing much for my skin? I use it alternate nights.🤷🏻♀️ I would never ever pay £100 for a retinal. Total rip off!

@@MadAboutSkin Oh ok, thank you so much, I am in a few tretinoin facebook groups and the tretinoin die hards seem to religiously believe tretinoin is the holy grail and is the only version that will give the optimal results, which can be very misleading and confusing because not everybody react the same way, I feel going gentle and slow is the best approach because I've read more horror stories from tretinoin than from retinaldehyde, if they all will eventually give the same results long term then no need to rush.
This Avene retinal is now discontinued. They have a new one that comes in a “pump-jar”
