One of the most important artists working today. Polymath isn’t a sufficiently broad enough term to cover her incredible talent. Her guitar virtuosity alone puts her in league with some of the greatest ever. She’s just getting started in my opinion and I can’t wait to see which direction she takes. Whatever it is, I’m in.

I can see why this didn't make it into the official album. But I'd have been happier never having seen it. It sounds like dumb, mainstream pop music.
It's far from dumb, but do you really can't see St. Vincent is mainstream pop music? It's out-there/a little avant-garde/highly emotional mainstream pop music, but it's mainstream pop music.
Mainstream is a bad word and I'm sorry I even used it in the first place. Being mainstream or not doesn't make it good or bad.
Still, she's not mainstream. Specially because so many of her songs aren't what I'd consider easy to digest, radio friendly. Give Me Your Loves being the prime example, but even others like Rattlesnake, Every Tear Disappears or Huey Newton, I never saw and can't see play on the radio. This just in the latest album.
