- It's finally here, the official translation of The Great Ace Attorney series!
The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve
Chapter 5
The Resolve of Ryunosuke Naruhodo
Trial, Part 3 - Hry
Mael Stronghart: "You cannot stop me now! This is a closed trial and you cannot bring me down!"
Herlock Sholmes and İris: *We are gonna end this man's whole career*
Her Majesty the Queen: *And I will make sure this reaches to everyone in the British Empire*
*THAT* has taken the number one spot on my most favorite breakdowns in the entire series. NO, not just the entire series, but the ENTIRE FRANCHISE itself!! :OOO
Same here.
3:42 Barok van Zieks: "It's about time you realized something... that this gentlemen is the protagonist!"
The fucking dance that Herlock Sholmes does kills me.
His animations are a blessing to the world.
Same😂
Fun Fact: Mael Stronghart/Hart Vortex's breakdown has so many particles in the fire that the 3DS couldn't handle it so the frame rate dropped when this played. Glad to see a much stronger console or it could be that they fix the frame rate for Chronicles.
This is played on PC, but I can imagine the PS4 and Switch could handle it fine.
@@ZSlyzer no problem from PS5
He's Damon Gant's ancestor confirmed
@@Aego384 Yep its in their blood. To cause massive frame drops during their breakdowns.
25:20 I like how Ryunosuke's Desk Slam effectively silenced the crowd!
Also, Sholmes's trolling dance was EPIC!
20:21
Here it is! Clapping that doesn't affect the framerate!
Looks like we know who's damon gant ancestor is.
@@adamryamizard5560 Not only that they were BOTH the Chiefs of some form of Justice.
Damon Gant: Police Chief
Mael Stronghart/Hart Vortex: Lord Chief Justice
@@NashTheBlade there's no way it's a coincidence.
The Queen: On behalf of my own statements, I wish that Lord Chief Justice, Mael Stronghart, be formerly YEETED OUTTA HIS POSITION AS IF HE WERE A MAN FROM A CENTURY LATER CALLED DAMON GANT!
The clap convinced me he is Damon gants ancestor 😂
For a split second, I thought that we won't get the clapping breakdown we got with Gant.
ANDTHENANDTHENANDTHEN
The breakdown is a good symbolism: the guilt is too great that it breaks the justice system, given how his operation was performed.
It also represents too much Fire. Remember the Japanese philosophy of Fire, Earth, etc.
@@Michel-mb7yq Plus London had a history of large scale fire.
I see a lot of people calling Deus Ex Machina, which I feel isn't really what's happening here. Conventional Deus Ex Machina invalidates the protagonist's endeavors, which is the opposite of what Sholmes does here. Without Runo's efforts bringing the truth of the case to light, any hologram or other developed by Sholmes wouldn't be able to take Mael down, and this so-called Deus Ex Machina cannot stand on its own. Sholmes stands as a force to counteract Mael's position as Lord Chief Justice, validating Runo's efforts in proving his guilt. He's merely levelling the playing field... albeit in a spectacularly extravagant fashion(and music). And I love this game all the more for it.
Agreed, if Runo did not expose his role as the professor and reaper, what Holmes did will be for naught. It is Runo's resolves that allowed Holmes to show the truth to the Queen, and hence got the Royal Decree
No, its deus ex machina lets not defend poor writing.
Excellent defense, my learned friend.
I can't believe TGAA had a collab with Michael Bay on Stronghart's breakdown, what a surprise
Stronghard was a great villain. I hated him, but he was a great villain.
I felt like he was a very obvious villain and I expected him to be the final culprit in the first game. I was surprised that he appeared in the ending scenes of the first game.
That’s what makes a good back guy. The hatred, the motives, and the heat
Not even close with Manfred Von Karma, but his action are similar.
Well, at least the culprit doesn't have an obsession with swimming...
hEy ThErE UdGeY! sWiM mUch?
Damn
They had me in the first breakdown, ngl
Mael Stronghart i got two words for ya
YOURRRRRRRR FIREEEEEEEEEED
3:40 like a true Naruhodo
I am surprised mael survived that breakdown in the end anyways herlocks dance tho 😂😂😂
With how long the revelation came to be, i wonder how does this compare with quercus alba from Ace Attorney Investigations
6:58 Final evidence, and the reactions. I love that it was in there 10 years.
Barok and Kazuma calling out Stronghart when he tried to end the trial. Wow, the truth of the will, and Stronghart's thoughts.
What a flashback w/Jigoku's part. Then Ryu & Kazuma lines from 18:22 & on!
That applause from Stronghart. Whoa, 1 of every 10 was a criminal. Lol, Herlock hologram- that dance. The Queen saw it all. Nice. The breakdown. 0.0 Awesome vid.
Here's a Herlock Sholmes dancing 27:16
Only Iris (Tinkaton) would call Her Majesty 'Vicky' and get away with it.
32:52 That must have hurt his hand so badly
Perfect example of motive can't justify actions
Sholmes just doing what Nick has done in Apollo Justice, inventing something to overturned the corrupt and bring them to justice.
3:30 One last Overture to Pursuit
Like his breakdown.
20:20 is that Gant?
Ha ha love the dance.😂
27:13
What sorcery is this !?
I don't know what is worse: that, or Her Majesty conveniently showing up.
25:44 *HERLOCK-SAAAAAN, SAVE MEEEEEEE!*
-Ryunosuke, probably
for some reason i can't examine the hilt of the sword. im playing the Nintendo switch version
is this happening to anyone else??
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang Herlock got some MOVES
kashira also means captain in yakuza game am i right ?
The first game's final breakdown was pretty underwhelming [Greydon choking out Gregson], but the final villain here... Just so overwhelmingly guilty of corruption that it broke the scale.
Although, kinda odd it was going in the Guilty direction considering the defendant was Barok who would be Not Guilty.
But during the breakdown the focus is on Mael Stronghart, signifying that the amount of things he had done gave him so much guilt to the point it got overwhelming.
Not to mention he got his ass handed by the fire of guilt.
Well, my save got corrupted... Guess I'll watch the rest here
Why didn't you just shoot Enoch Drebber, Jigoku?
17:30
The blackmail plot is the same as in the stolen turnabout
only with more murder involved instead of theft
sorry but that ending was too deux ex machina xD
It would have been simpler for Herlock to drag Her Majesty to the court...literally.
it's funny tho
@@dbclass4075 and having to create a whole new 3d model for a character tjat will be used just for 5 seconds? XD during the whole game nobody took Sherlock's invents seriously and now everybody believes him XD
@@tiniracoon i mean like, there is HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN'S letter scroll
@@tiniracoon you HAVE to believe him, otherwise the bailiffs would have arrested him
it is literally impossible to think this invention was just a trick
secondly we worked all this way to reveal stronghart so this is not a deus ex machina as the plan would have failed miserably without the effort of the player
24:00
27:10
27:10 need for an edit thx
Everyone in court: "this is how justice goes down, with cheerings and applauses..."
S.Holmes: "Hello there !"
What a playthrough and what a game, clearly enjoying it since it's the last game from PW series i had to watch. What a final
i love The Resolve of Ryunosuke Naruhodo, but Ye Olde holograms is one of the stupidest things in Ace Attorney, it's Turnabout Serenade levels of dumb and it kinda soured the whole ending for me
Stronghart's breakdown is amazing though
Wow, this is sorta, disappointing.
I mean, an unestablished hologram device? Come on. It's like the end of Turnabout Sister but so much worse. Love the breakdown and everything, but just seems like they could've thought of something better than an asspull.
I completely disagree, it was inevitable that the entire trial was recorded, or at least Stronghart confession, they could've stop at having sherlock simply record it through the audio transmitter and send it to the queen, but they went above and beyond because just a simple audio transmitter just wouldn't fit Sherlock character, he has to dance on Stronghart grave in the most over the top way possible.
@@legiaanh4828 I can see where you're coming from, and I respect your viewpoint, but for me it was just too over the top, to the point where it broke my suspension of disbelief
It wouldn't have been as bad for me if the device was established before the trial, or in a different case.
@@you-got-reported-fam3445 Yea fair enough
@@you-got-reported-fam3445 Could it be this is Capcom's solution to give Her Majesty importance? It is possible modelling her might be considered taboo.
i disagree, it's been established multiple times through both games that Iris invents all sorts of wacky stuff.
you're a bit too concerned with the literal details when the actual plotpoint being presented here is "Sholmes and Iris inform the Queen of Stronghart's misdeeds". Not an asspull at all since going to a higher authority is a reasonable course of action. It doesn't matter all that much how they did it since there are many inventions Iris has made for long range communication and it was done this way just so we could have a scene that was a little more fun to watch being able to actually see them in person.
