I remember drooling over the new pickups on the chevy lot in the mid 90s .. I had one all specd out - I wanted it more than anything in the world .. little did I know I would eventually own one - to bad it had to be 20 years old with 200k on it before I could afford it though ....LOL.... I really like the cart - but for sure it's expensive - all this machinery has become so horrifically high priced.... it's tough for the smaller farmers (myself included) to be able to afford the equipment we need and all to often, its like that new pickup, I have to wait years before I can afford it .... kind of a sad reality of how really poor farming is of a business....... on a more positive note - I've been enjoying your picture posts, looks like things are coming along nicely...hope your having a good fall - I'm ready to be done combing here - lol ... take care, and be safe
Appreciate all the information on all the various equipment. What brand are you running for aftermarket LED’s on that S680? Bought a 2016 680 with 900 sep hours and looking to update a few things.

I saw this video and immediately had to go back and re watch " The New Big Red Thing". Does this cart turn as sharp as the V series? You made a point of how they would turn in 40' and the tandem Avalanche took 60'.

I think I can actually turn sharper .. the way the auger and hitch are designed we can crank right around. ...we absolutely hated the larger tandem avalanche cart - single axle is sooo much handier and better performing.... worst part of v series is with auger up, you about can't turn left because it can strike the tractor cab ...
@@Blackearthexcavationandtiling It's funny how they try to sell the auger being close to the cab as a plus on some carts ie. easier to see, don't have to turn head as far when unloading. But they never mention the negatives.

I probably should have went 1500 series - but I'm not a fan of the ils - they are a lot more cost, and require regular maintenance (lots of grease zerks) ... personally I wish they would put the TLS in the 8000 series as well.... our 8R410 is ils - it's not bad, but I don't feel it was worth the price tag ... but thanks for asking.. In my opinion you can't really expect a combine that was designed for a 12 row do a good job when you're running a 6 row on it. Just for the simple reason everything is oversized and you're not working the combine at rated capacity
And that's completely the wrong line of thinking ... all the deere machines use the same size rotor / fans - etc - please check the owners manual for spec sizes - you'll see very quickly they are all the same .. we ran this machine with a 12 - and a previous 680 on an 8 ... by that logic, 150 bushel corn would be a problem vs 200 bushel corn .. or a point row where your taking 2 rows of corn in versus all 12 the machine wouldn't work ... sieve performance improves with a smaller head ... how they get a larger class - they have more hp to shove it through faster (won't big down) and bigger grain tanks, faster unloads to get it unloaded quicker, etc.... as far as rotors - all 4 models are identical- its just a 760 isn't going to have the power to turn that rotor that a 790 does (in tough conditions) ....
I enjoyed the combine explanations of how to zero it in. New machinery is hard to pull the trigger on. Time saving machinery you have. enjoyed it

Wouldn't the 1050 be a great graincart puller? High speed, lots of power... haven't seen it out of the shed in a while.
It does work well on the cart... but we're keeping the hours off it - its for sale if your interested....
