- Forgotten 1983 Chevy Camaro. The mice and snakes moved in and we had to move them out. Can we get this car to run and drive over 1,200 miles without test-driving it? Our destination is over 600 miles away at the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners MI. This is a hilarious adventure that was a ton of fun.

You guys are Bold!!!❤
Time to use a super powerful vacuum for all of this and pressure wash it all
Yes, that car was nasty 🤮
You should turn the crank 360° by hand before even tempting to start it
😁 I know. 👍
YOLO
Well done you two! 😎
Yep, best video yet, love it
👍👍😁
Great journey. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.
Yeah this era of cars used back pressure from the exhaust to level them out, the 2.8 were a good strong reliable engine,Gave y'all a Subscribe and definitely will check out more of your vids
Thank you 👍
Those 2.8s were GREAT ENGINES!! YOUR RIGHT ,gotta have back pressure
I'll subscribe TOO!!

This is so cool and interesting. I wish I knew about engines the way you guys do
Thank you 👍
Great video! Love these sorts of revivals, looks like this Camaro really wanted to live.
good video. I really didn't think it would make it but it did. well done!
This is that bad idea that every car guy has wanted to do. Badass i live up the street from you guys give me a hollar sometime im pretty decent at mechanics
😂 that’s great 👍 what’s your contact info?
Love 💕 It❤❤❤
Thank you 😊
I APPRECIATE ADVERSE THINKING!!! GREAT JOB
Thank you 👍
The obligatory comment for a will it run or clean up CZcams video. “This is the nastiest interior I have ever seen.” Common guys, what old long parked car outside isn’t nasty inside? An early 80’s Camaro RS v6 5 speed is a pretty good score. Especially one that’s for the most part fully intact. While it’s not a v8, these were still entertaining cars to drive back in the day. 138 hp for the v6 verses 160-170 hp for the v8 is not a lot of difference. This is the time frame when 220 hp was a big deal. And that was from a big block.
It was definitely a lot of fun to drive 👍 Not the most comfortable road trip car though 😁
to answer your first question...desert storage, so i'm told. I had a junkyard 1969 Goat that avoided the dreaded mildew i get here on the coast. Without any doubt, wear a mask when cleaning out a car--something tells me poor Steve Mags may have gotten his health issue from crawling around too many junkyard cars without one. there's some nasty stuff to be found out there.
My dad married my mom and drove one of these on their wedding day.. the car still sits in his backyard. He passed away last week.. I plan on fixing it up and using it as a memorial to him
That sounds like an amazing idea 👍 I believe that would be a great way to honor your dad.
I have a soft spot in my hart for Camaros, I have a 67 for 43 years.
They are a ton of fun 👍
This car was stored RIGHT … there where you found it!
😂 true
lmao, good one
If I found a snake skin in a car. While it was on the trailer. I would take it to the scrap yard..
Good video
Thank you 👍
The great Rochester controlled flush carb
I just go from junkyard to junkyard for parts , good job tho 👏
😂 we did check a junkyard 🤷♂️
Chicos deberían usar guantes para esos trabajos. Bueno eso creo saludos desde PR!
Your spider is in your jack skip to 25:25 😂
🤔
Yup Spray grease all over the brakes and shoes😂. Junk
😂👍
Take it to Mi? just to let mother nature finish her dinner?
🤷♂️😂
looks a lot like the one we rescued last summer! where you guys from! we should race them!
We are in south east Pa
@@RuggedWrench well that's probably a little to far away! We are in British Columbia
Hi!
Great job, looked like a blast 😂
Did the Lucas help the diff at all?
Yes. It was quiet the whole way home 👍
You should bring you a feul maker ahappenerand 3 feet of rubber line plus shock cables to hook to the neculer shock storage feeding unit. with you to feed it electricimpulses to run the electric pump motor and also a can of primer and duct tape so people think its a project car in progress when driving it home to get you respect bring a can of fix a flat plus a portable air intake. Put it in a big canvas bag and call it the go bag or shtf kit
shor electric feul pump you could put in line or
I would of left that tank on the side of highway and just gone home lol
😂 what fun would that have been 🤷♂️
Restore it a lil bit would like to see you guys sand and primed Turbo white spray paint it and some Newer wheels upgrade steering wheel after market new ACC carpet would make great content 👍 New Sub
👍
So now that your back home, what the future plan for the Camaro?
Probably going to sell it🤷♂️ we got it for the road trip 😁
My first car was a 72.5 split bumper z camaro and a bitchen mullet
I wouldn't even bother ! Like you said alot of turds car included .
😂👍 it was a lot of fun
Audio sounds a little funky in the beginning, but rad video
I have the same exact car same color that I'm selling parts off of in Pennsylvania
👍
next project take rain x don't need wipers
i swear i just seen this thing on marketplace about 3 weeks ago. how far from harrisburg are you guys???
EDIT lol i see you are at the auto zone on 22 in colonial park, has to be the same car i was looking at.
We are from Hamburg 👍 we listed and sold the car a few weeks ago. So it probably was the same car 👍
@@RuggedWrench lol, good deal.
Very entertaining video 👍
@@RuggedWrench it had to be because I remember in the advertisement there was a penny stuck on the tire dry rot flap 🤣🤣🤣
I was a camaro guy 20 br; (before reagan)
Was there a tag on that during that road trip
Yep, it was all legal. To big of a risk not to 🤷♂️ I’d love to find a cheaper way though.
There's a Camaro museum in or around Detroit? Where is it?
You don't know much about Camaros, it's a 84. The first year of this model. When you check the time code it will be made after the 6 month of that year making it the next year.
🤷♂️ the title and registration say it’s an 83
i would sand and repaint it white my dad had two growing up infact that one looks identical same rims and all like 25 years ago he also had a z28 which to me looked better with ground effects and wing
It would look a lot better if it were painted 🤷♂️
also on every revival i say it all the time replace all coolant hoses and belts rubber is number one thing ive seen guys revive old vehicles and boom on side of the road blown rad hose they are cheap and one less worry@@RuggedWrench
thermostat too
brake cylinders are cheap get new ones like what 10 bucks
agree, a rattle can paint job, a Vortec 350 swap, and it wouldn't take much to make a street machine out of it...well, ok, a new windshield would be good. they really do refract sunlight in the eyes.
Thts a cheap way of resurrecting a classic
And a ton of fun 😁
And bring windex
Trim code
👍
Heck yeah Michigan born an rasied
It’s an amazing state 👍
This Car is 40 years old.
Yes it is. Still a spring chicken 😁
My Dad was 18 years old and my Mom was 19 years old when this car was built in 1983
Are you, anyone a mecanic?
I think this Rig is almost roadworthy!
You, both... are circus! 🤣🤣
Don't do that, just stop! 🤞
We had a blast 😁
#BEAT THIS for bad interiors, i went to buy a 64 Ford compact back in 2012 from a 70-year-old woman she told how in the 90s somebody had died inside and she found them and her story goes like this, 'I went out to the carport around 7am and noticed a hose from the exhaust to a window, and inside was a deceased obese black man, so she rings the cops who after some time sit her down and tell her its not a big black man in the car but her 160pound white husband, she was in denial but the cops explained how this is a common effect from C02 poisoning, and yes i bought it, same seat from the 90s i guess he wasnt in there long enough
Wow! That’s quite the story for that car to have.
I don't really see anything wrong with it...i mean its got a small crack in the dash but thats about it...
It’s not bad for sitting in a field for 15 years
The word patina is one of the most overused words on CZcams see that brown stuff all over the surface of the vehicle is called rust it is never a good thing and it never looks good
🤷♂️ call me strange, but I kinda like it 😁
You still have to admit it's nice patina .
I would finish deleting all this early emissions control crap always failed within the 1st 6 years.Chrysler did that with the Lean Burn 2 BBL carb from (1977-1985)and Ford had a 2 BBL and 4 bbl variable ventruree carb were junk and they used the never spark box (Dura Spark) Ford used that until 1982 on LTD Crown Victoria 1986on all Ford Models when they changed everything over to SFI Sequential Fuel Injection
That car is pure junk
One man’s junk is another man’s treasure 😁
You need lessons on how to revive a car after sitting. That was not correct. Watch Derek
We all have own way of doing things 🤷♂️ I really enjoy VGG 👍
Yep. Took the words right out of my mouth VGG all the way
You're exactly right they did it wrong from the get-go
It don't matter how u do things long as ur having fun
Who cares!
Looks like a crap V6
Yes it is👍 2.8L 🤷♂️
