Damn, I was there. What an amazing moment. You could tell, when they played Hells Bells that night, they really cranked up the sound, it was electric. One of my best baseball memories.
Should've happened at Petco as a Padre but I get the business side of pro sports
I was at the game and I heard someone behind me saying, "Is that Hoffman warming up in the bullpen?" I immediately mumbled, "Don't say that and get my hopes up, dude." My husband looked at me and said with a serious look on his face, "It’s him."
I got an immediate adrenaline rush, no lie. My hands were shaking. When the scoreboard went completely black and we heard the first booming tone of the bell, nearly everyone started screaming. I will never forget that night.
Padres should never have let him go.
I was so upset... I email the Padres VP and I let him have it, he told me that they were gonna bring him back in the near future that they had some kind of arrangement going on... Eventually he was back Trevor's heart has always read SD 😉👍
@@longlivethefishand everyone clapped right?
As a Padres fan, I was so mad we had to watch his 600th save in a Brewers jersey. He should have a Padre his whole career. Owners messed this up.

0:38 "On the ground... Counsell, and there it is! Trevor Hoffman! A milestone, number 600!"

legend
Im a Padres and Brewers fan so probably one of my favorite all time players
I’ll never forgot the day when I was 12 years old and my dad took me to petco park and I got to play wiffle ball with Trevor before the game at the park at the park.
Bro that is so cool, wish I was old enough to play Wiffle ball with him
I was at the 599th save game, just missed it
I was at 600, it was amazing
Yes I was at 597 and 599 - (vs pirates)
As a Brewers fan, he should have gotten this milestone with the Padres, but I’m so happy the brewers helped him get there
🫡 Respect from a Padre fan here in San Diego😎🤙
Are you actually a Brewers fan?
@@mr.brenman2132yup. We exist!
I was at that game. It was absolutely electric in Miller Park.
He became the all time saves leader by saving a game against the Brewers...
That’s not true tho
@@gagejanssen268 I must have been high when I made this statement.
Lo dejaron los padres...cómo siempre...
Welcome to Cooperstown.
12 years ago today
akward Hoffman saving 600 out of San Diego what a shame!
The best of all time.
Damn I forgot he was a brewer🙁
I was at that game!
God i feel old watching this.
Isn’t that a wild number
He was good.
Nope he was not good!
He is the GOAT!
Nobody gonna talk about how weird it is seeing LoCain wearing 36?
I was at this game it was loudddd
I wonder if 600 saves is still possible?
You would have to pull Eric gagne 83 saves in 5 seasons to even have a chance so NOPE no chance No one will be able to do it
@@thekrazyhatter5063 Plus while the closers longevity aren't exactly known to be long even among those who pitches one inning for a save. Guys like Mo and Hoffman were among the exceptions.
Years of work with the padres only to be bought by the brewers at the very end to get number 600. Nothing agains the brewers but I just wish he could've ended his career with the team that retired his number.
He was great but the save is the most ridiculous stat in all of professional sports right next to baseball's "wins" stat.
brian wiseman really tell that to the all the closers asked to put the nail in a game up by one. Its a key spot
brian wiseman You don’t know baseball. Lol
You funny 😂
I agree with @Jose Carranza.... You don't know baseball 😂😂
Ha Ha the Yankees shat on him in the 98 world series and mo is better legend with more saves
Mariano Rivera and Trevor Hoffman are not only the best closers in the game, they are also great people off the field. Shithead Yankee fans like you give Mo a bad reputation
But Mo doesn't have a bad reputation...
The funny thing is , FRANCISCO RODRIGUEZ may end up with most career saves eventually.
Randall Cazares Haha
Is this video about Mariano? I missed that
