  • This Yan triple was originally the Santiago Triple at Keystone, Colorado. In 1998 it was replaced by a Doppelmayr high speed quad and in 1999 it was installed at Big Sky to serve a small expansion below Thunderwolf. This is the most recent expansion that Big Sky carried out on their own. Spanish Peaks and Moonlight Basin were separate pre existing areas that were annexed. Dakota was originally accessible from the tram but received it's own lift in 2007. The terrain served by this lift consists of a couple green trails and some bump runs. With a slow ride, the lowest elevation terrain at Big Sky, and the fact that you can't take a single lap on the terrain without riding the lift twice, it is typically pretty empty.
The length is about 4000 feet and the vertical about 1250 feet. It doesn't run particularly fast, so the ride time is over 10 minutes. It is scheduled to be replaced by a relocated Southern Comfort as part of the Big Sky 2025 plan. While it would bring more people to this part of the mountain, I would rather see it relocated to replace Iron Horse which would provide a better connection between the village and Moonlight Basin.

Doppelmayr lifting frames on the last few towers?

Correct, the last few towers are Doppelmayr. I guess the old Santiago lift didn't have enough so Doppelmayr fabricated some new ones. The lift also has Doppelmayr line gear.

And would southern comfort be replaced by a bubble chair?
