@@WesternStatesMetalRoofing I beg to differ but the connection of one piece to another is the same as vinyl siding and for 9 yrs i installed vinyl siding and it was never water proof, water always got behind the siding. If there was rubber gaskets or a very tight overlap then maybe. Might be good for Western States Metal to do a video with a power washer and see if in fact after power washing from different angles that the material behind the siding does not get wet. That being said I love the idea of no maintence metal siding that truly looks like wood. Would love to know more about details on warranty/guarantee of paint job on siding and how long it really lasts. Thanks for your reply. My son (a contractor) and myself are building new homes next year in RI and are trying to narrow our choices down.

Yes you are correct, If you take a pressure washer and spray any panel under that type of pressure, even a roof panel at real close proximity you will force seepage. A pressure washer will create pressure far above a normal storm. When a wall panel is installed correctly and in a vertical layout, it allows the water to shed down and off the panel. With siding installed horizontal, you may have a dam or a pocket situation that doesn’t allow water to flow evenly off and may hold water and allow water to seep thru. With the water shedding off it doesn’t allow water to infiltrate unless under tremendous pressure such as the pressure washer. The paint finish is a PVDF (Aka Kynar) and comes with a limited 30-40 year paint warranty. It's a high quality paint like you would use on a metal roof. Hope this helps.

As long as it's installed correctly it's a weather-tight product.
