Before you compare buying this at last year's price in USD of roughly $2,700 + shipping, consider this: 1) Automobiles have been mass produced in the millions of units annually for about 100 years; 2) These 1/12 or 1/14 scale RC vehicles are produced in *much* smaller quantities and only over the past few decades; 3) In the USA today (keeping things equivalent because using USD but the analogy is valid) a $30,000 USD car bought new but now selling used for $3,000 USD would be very unreliable and short-lived; and 4) Automobiles are everywhere and often viewed as necessary for mobility whereas these type of RC vehicles are really a niche market a fraction of the size of the auto market. An RC vehicle is a luxury... but fun!

i have the 4200xl earth digger... the version previous to this one, but mostly same internals.
Dont get me wrong, i love the thing... but they got their issues for sure.
If you want the cats meoow you gotta go for the german made ones, but you also gotta pay for it!

Sure... you could spend 13k on a machine, but that is the high end.
If you are smart you wait around for a good deal on a used one, if you then decide to sell, you wont loose much, its like money in the bank.
I recently sold mine, cost me a couple hundred bucks to own it for about 4-5 years.
It sold the same day i advertised it, if i had held on i might even had made a few bucks.
