    I was born at Eglin 55 years ago. Went back there 9 years ago with my family for vacation at Destin Beach. My dad was a pilot there when I was a kid. Love the area so much! Would love to retire there but it seems Hurricanes have been favoring the gulf coast this past decade.....

      Patrick, thanks for the comment. My dad retired out of Hurlburt Field back in the late 80's. True that storms are always a concern but right here in the our area we have been very lucky. Since I have been back the last dozen plus years we have not experienced a major storm impact. All storms have been East or West of us with us experiencing very minimal damage and inconvenience.

      Nice, it's about to hit full-speed tourist season so it can get a little crazy out here between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Check out my video on some fun things to do if you end up visiting👍

      Hey Jesse! The area has changed a little, the beaches may be a little more crowded but still a great place to live. Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you👍

    This was a good video I love how honest you are! What’s great for retired Air Force?

      +Chanel Benjamin hi Chanel! Thanks for watching the video and the comment😎 To answer your question, it would depend on the lifestyle you want. Of course our beaches are top notch so if you like the beach I’d say come check out Walton County and perhaps Hammock Bay where I live…super chill, small and local but close to all the fun stuff.
      Rick@Gonzalezgroup.co feel free to reach out directly if you have more questions 👍🏼

    You know it’s funny that whenever I hear about the “great schools” in Niceville…it’s always followed up by how great the sports teams are.

      +Jacob Mireles that’s a fantastic point. Perhaps I’ll do some research and find out about the academics and special programs available and report back in a future video. I appreciate your comment👍🏼

    I am coming from Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage Alaska. I have a cousin in Milton, this is my second duty station and as of 5/12/2022 I have 5 months until my report no later than date. I'm just curious if its a good idea to just stay in Milton with my cousin.

    How about Destin? Does anyone ask you about living there?

    • @RickGonzalezRealtor
      @RickGonzalezRealtor  Před 3 lety

      Not very often. The commute across the Destin bridge and Okaloosa Island (to Hurlburt Field and Eglin) or perhaps across Mid Bay Bridge to EOD School could be crazy during this time of year with all of the tourist traffic. But if you want Destin I can help you with that too! Also worth a mention there are quite a few condos VA approved in Destin and surrounding area.

      +Jesse Aledonis Pensacola is a great location…little bit of a hike if you’re at Eglin AFB.
