It goes up to debary where most of the traffic is heading and soon Deland. Wont convince people to use them though.

So they're not really trying to fix the problem?. How about instead of making a traffic light last a couple minutes in one direction and maybe 45 seconds in the cross traffic how about equal time for all directions? AND shorten from 2 minutes to say 1 minute 45 seconds
Route 46 is a coordinated corridor. It is timed for the traffic to progress along the road with little red time. Lowering those times would disrupt that progression.
Instead of giving tickets how about the City look at the SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM which is not up to date highways and intersections and continue to allow more housing development increasing the number of people in the area?????? The government is the one that needs to get a big ticket.
It's an exit ramp and an on ramp. There's no reason to be going straight. The road can't handle it. The road can handle the straight traffic staying on I-4 and using the overpass to go straight.
I’m so glad they fixed it. I got stuck at the light due to people illegally crossing. It would take me 10 min just to cross under I-4 as the line of cars crossing illegally to beat traffic would back up in to 46
On other news, how about we focus on FIXING.. WHY people want to skip ALL the senseless traffic. Every day stop and go, get over the St. John’s bridge, NO ACCIDENTS, NO TRAFFIC? Hm seems to me there’s a massive change needed! Fix the i4 DEADZONE ONCE IN OVER 60 years! Thanksbb
Sanford is one of the worst places to drive around in. I live in downtown Sanford. There is a 4 way stop right in front of my house and about 2 in 10 cars actually stop at it. About 4 oit of those 10 cars blows through thr stop sign at speeds up to 60 mph. I have contacted Sanford PD twice and they just DO NOT CARE. I have a 6 and a 2 year old child and the thought of them ever getting out the door one day just terrifies me. I have screamed at people to stop and to even just slow down. About a mile or less down my own street I was t-boned at another 4 way stop a couple years ago. Even after my surgery I still deal with pain every day. Sanford drivers are the absolute worst. At least thats how it feels. I-4 has been a nightmare for years. Nothing new there. How about catching these a-holes flying through stop signs going 25-35 mph over the damn speed limit!!! Do a story about that!! Maybe its just time to leave this area. I miss my sanity🤯
What's funny is they are talking about breaking rd laws. Then they say "ppl would rather turn left and do a turn at the light. They shifted 3 lanes with no break between lanes changes. Florida law says lane surfing (act of switching lanes to quickly) is illegal. 😂😅 you really can't make this up. Then you put it on the news

There's a reason interstates have overpasses not traffic light intersections. I-4 through traffic shouldn't be using the ramps.

The city does not maintain the roads. Both highways are state roads. The city only has enforcement authority

These steps may reduce the number of scofflaws, but certainly won't eliminate them. Where there's a will, there's a way.
