Starring: Josh Hartnett, Eric Bana, Ewan McGregor, Sam Shepard, Tom Sizemore, Hugh Dancy - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The best part of this movie is that there are no super strong or 'you can't kill me no matter whatever you do heroes', every one is vulnerable and this brings out a very realistic feel to the movie. Certainly one of the best movies that I've seen.
Chills every single time I see the trailer. Black Hawk Down and Lone Survivor are two of the very best films portraying these real world operations.
One of the best movies ever !!!
my 6th favorite movie of all time.
Canaan B can you give me your list of fav movies? since this is in my top 3 for sure. like 1-10 is fine
killerkhalsa27 well, it's kind of changed since i last posted, but here's the updated version:
10. Joyeux Noel
9. Empire of the Sun
8. October Sky
7. Inception
6. Black Hawk Down
5. Forrest Gump
4. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
3. Band of Brothers (i know it's a miniseries but i count it as one big movie.)
2. Les Miserables
1. The Dark Knight Trilogy
Canaan B Alright thanks man, you just gave me some more movies to watch and today I watched black hawk down again this is my third time and it was still as good as the first time.
killerkhalsa27 do you have a top 10 list? i'd like to hear yours. or a top five if you don't have a top 10.
I was a soldier, small country, but well trained special forces, fighting in Bosnia, Iraq and Afganistan with our allies, mostly with Royal Marines and US Rangers. Those were not our wars, but we stood together, side by side. At first maybe we belived we make the world a better place doin` this hard job. But like Eric Bana says in this trailer, after a first shot it`s all about man next to you. That`s why this movie is probably the best war movie ever. Little bit heroic, but - you know - nobody asks to be a hero. It just sometimes turns out that way. :)
Coming this Fall, the much anticipated sequel: Black Drone Down
"War...war never changes..."
whoops, here we go again.
This is my all-time favorite movie. I can't even begin to imagine the mental stress and physical exertion that these men had to keep up for almost 24 hours. It just shows how you shouldn't take things for granted because strangers gave their lives for you to have that freedom.
Back then, my mom and uncles made watch this movie at only 7 years old. All I remember was the gruesome scenes like limbs being decapitated. That made me believe that even at my age now which is 25, I still wouldn't stomach watching it. However, it changed when I saw this trailer. I'm not sure, but I think this film would break my heart
I'll never forget those words "We got a Blackhawk down, Blackhawk down.".
But they never won in real
This movie is awesome because it has
Obi-Wan Kenobi
Hector
Lancelot/Hornblower (shortly)
Lucius Malfoy
Jaime Lannister
Bane (shortly)
Will Turner/Legolas
All of them in one movie! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD
And Phil Dunphy from modern family
+Sand Witch and Ari Gold
dont forget mad max ^_^
and you forgot Kingsley Shacklebolt
you need all of them to beat somalis, but they still lost
What made this movie so amazing was how down to earth it was. it wasn't anti war propaganda, it wasn't pro American propaganda, it was simply about the men doing the work.
Check out "Hamburger Hill". Same type of movie.
This films so good I need to watch it again
me too
I watched this movie 8 times
My top 5 favorite war movies:
5.) Black Hawk Down (2001)
4.) Platoon (1986)
3.) Saving Private Ryan (1998)
2.) Pearl Harbor (2001)
1.) We Were Soldiers(2002)
I should've put those as Honorable Mentions.
+Nikolas Zuraff Pearl Harbor? Bro.. do you want anybody to take you seriously?
+DuNe Neo Those are all amazing pictures. I just think Nikolas hasn't started watching the big boy war movies like Inglourious Basters, Schindler's List and Apocalypse Now. Enemy At The Gates was also good. Same goes for Full Metal Jacket
What the fuck is that supposed to mean?!
***** Saying that Pearl Harbor is shit is an insult to shit. Shit has use. We can throw shit at people who like Pearl Harbor.
That's what it means xD Sorry if I came across like an asshole. Not my intension. I was just really baffled that someone likes Pearl Harbor...
this movie beats all of the war movies out there until today! the entire movie is NON-STOP action! i already watched BILLION TIMES OVER and i already know the lines like Get on that 50!,we got a Black Hawk Down and more! this is a watchable film i recommend you watch this for yourself!
who else cried watching this movie
me
its a great movie
me too
pussies.
Judge Dredd don't call me a pussie it was sad
mogadishu is not afghanistan ok, the milltia will face u straight on, men with balls u will never come across! when the guy said in the film skinies cant shoot is like saying black man cant jump, every single man in somali is holding a machine gun or pistol, guns been used all sort of way in mogadishu, these guys fight every day like in black hawk since 1991/2008 facts
men, anybody sad that mogadischu is afghanistan, 2 different states, 2 different cultures, 2 different conflicts and to shoot is something that you have to learn like the soldiers in the u. s. army
but it's your opinion
Not men with balls, men with ridiculous beliefs unable to think of their own. The lack of intelligence in that city makes it as shitty as it is now and as it was back then.
Roger la haha.. u are stupid **** fuk you know about Mogadishu today Zero.. just enjoy ur black hawk down and you're ham burger!
Actually, we know enough. And how are they stupid for voicing their opinion?
***** What exactly do you know about the everyday Somalian? Absolutely nothing.
Back in 2001 this movie should have easily won Best Picture and Best Director (Ridley Scott) at the Academy Awards instead of A Beautiful Mind.
watched this movie yesterday for the First time. great movie!
Somalia wasn't american aggression, i generally hate on american interventions but Somalia was probably the only one that had real righteous cause, to stop hunger and death of million of people. But americans lost battle of Mogadishu before it even started. They went in arrogantly, with 160 people and no artillery or real air support, no tanks or anything ''to avoid diplomatic problems'', and they thought they could arrest those warlords and defend themselves against thousands of militiamen who do nothing else in their lives than fight (for years!) and have no problem dying. America fucked up this operation the moment ''Irene!" was yelled on radio. Never underestimate your enemy, no matter what.
They tried to go in with more men, they asked for Tanks, Attack Helicopters, etc. They were denied and thus it caused the problem.

You Sir (misteraxl1), gained my respect with that last quote/sentence.
+Gourmet Cake US companies traded with Hitler disregarding any morality. WW2 is a very complex story and I think it cannot be summarized easily. And let's not forget US was the general winner in financial point of view.
It's true, the Americans just want to help, all days, I pray for the downed soldiers in that battle... :c
Best made war film hands down. Its the only war film I don't find myself picking apart for little inaccuracies in the way the actors are doing things.
Randy Shughart and Gary Gordon are the ultimate example of what a soldier should be.
one of the best movies ever
I blame Bill Clinton for this.
He sended them in with way to less Amor and then didn't even helped on demand.
EDIT (December/2019):
I changed my opinion on this matter, when i wrote this comment i was 15 and just watched the movie.
blame blame blame blame.....that usually gets a lot solved doesn't it?
Ronney Rendon
Sir, its just like that if he would send more armor and help on request maybe it wouldn't be so tragically.
Reybati To Do List
1. Learn English
2. Blame Clinton
Well for a matter of fact i'm learing English because it's not my primary Language.
Oh and i don't need some sort of kid to tell me anything.
You probably don't know anything about this Operation at all except for watching this movie.
Winston Reid Not everyone's primary language is English
Totally strong trailer from one of the best war movie of all time.
This is the most exhausting movie I have ever watched. Definitely the type of movie you watch once or twice.
The men of the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta and U.S. Army Rangers were trained damn well. The US forces had circa 90 casaulties in this battle, while the Somali had circa 1,500.
***** Col I believe that the US forces actually had 19 casualties.
(Don't shoot me like you did those germans on D-Day.)
A few Navy SEALs were involved as well.
Holden Fatheree casualty doesn't mean deaths, a casualty is anyone killed or injured.
Woops. I didn't read carefully enough.
+Lt Col Speirs Yes special forces from a developed nation are better than militia from a country with no functioning government. That definitely needs saying.
great great great movie.......thanx to soldiers....for brave and beautiful heart....hats off u...
Im guessing isnt your best language?
To fight a battle outgunned, outmanned, and outnumbered is probably just like Hell itself. The U.S. Army Delta Force operatives and U.S. Army Rangers who fought on Oct. 3, 1993 deserve our thanks. Life was lost again, but they still gave it their all. I'm currently in basic combat training in the United States Army, and I am not going to stop pushing myself to become as great a soldier as I can be.
"Don't let that man crawl, somebody help that man" nearly brought a tear to my eye.
.
anyone remember back hawk down game on pc? man that was awesome
Somalia was always a great nation
Aidid was great. Somalia, not so much
@@prancer71 Somalia was always great
Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and Act of Valour are the best War movies so far
Black hawk down and Saving private Ryan are the best war movie ever !
Great movie, the only criticism I have is they didn't use any actual Somali people in this movie.
If i am not wrong, Pakistani solders took part in this rescue operation too.
Sohail Ahmed Baig yes this movie is about Pak Army it shows when America need help they call Pak Army.....💪
Yes that event 3rd oc 1993 n pak resc usa army from there in defeeted possitions
probably the best war movie of the past decade. pure class.
everyone who's seen this film can agree its an amazing movie and quite true also sad aswell definetly one of the best movies ever made in my opinion.
there's a game called Delta Force Black Hawk Down
this is my favorite underdog movie.
the evil empire attacks somalians and despite all odds defeat the most modern war machines and technology on the planet, by standing up and saying no, we will defend ourselves.
Truly inspirational
Then you completely missed the point of the movie.
Do you even history? How is US and UN evil empire? Because of clan wars civilians have been starving and UN and US came there to help...
***** Hm ok. I kinda new everything from internet and basic info, like why they were there.
***** And who was responsible for the famine?
+Polito If they came to help why did they kill thousands of people? That's very "helpful".
Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down, best war movies of all time.
This is seriously one of the best movies ever made, pretty stoked for that Act of Valor too.
the problem is that somalia didn't change into something better with this war and there is still great anarchy and violence there so what was the point of this whole operation but apart from this it was an awesome movie ,the soldiers are the war victims moved by political leaders i guess Bill Clinton was the us president during this operation, too many lives lost
Somalia was a strong country, one of the strongest in Africa. The point of this was to destabilize the country and make it into the unstable state it is today.
i am not hedwig i didn't know that so the USA wanted dictator Aidid captured and let the rest of the somalian people fighting each other and robbing ships under less powerful dictators it is the same with Iraq but they want to Iraq for oil also i think
chris kokolios yes
Somalia became anarchic during its civil war in 1991. The American involvement didn't cause the current state that Somalia is in. The American involvement in Somalia was originally to hand out food, as a famine had started because of the civil war. However, the whole situation became a clusterfuck because Mohammed Farrah Aidid, a warlord, repeatedly stole the UN food supplies, and then America sent in soldiers to stop him from doing so. Then Black Hawk Down happened. While the American involvement in Somalia turned out horribly, you can hardly blame America for the state of anarchy Somalia is in. That started before America even considered getting involved.
+i am not hedwig That is a bunch of bullshit. Somalia collapsed and the UN asked for peace keeping forces. Don't blame Somalia fucking itself up on anybody else but Somalis.
"dont let that man crawl , somebody help that man" ..that got me for some reason i dont know
this is one of the best movies i have ever watched
This is the best war movie of all time next to saving private ryan. I think the younger generation can relate to it more though. If you haven't seen this movie you must watch it immediately! I'm pretty sure I have seen it 100 plus times since 2001.
so is Tae Guk Gi . I put Private Ryan up along side it.
1:26 what is a from the song of music?
Moby why does my heart feel so bad
The main thing that the somalian won this war
America wasn't at war with Somalia. It was a UN mission to give food to refugees.
Marines weren't there.
+Babyface6200 Actually it was to capture Aidid.
I wasn't a war. It wasn't even that big of a battle . The USA wasn't invading, they were giving food to the starving Somalians. If America wanted to invade, they could wipe out the entire country with a few of their 25,000 nuclear warheads...
Nael Abu Kosh what war?
Not even the latest movies can keep up with this. Just too great.
Just watched this movie, very great and very emotional. A movie I'll never forget
I hear they are doing a remake with Bugs Bunny: "Watership Black Hawk Down"
+SCE2AUX2 Good one but alas 99.3% of the people who read your comment will not get it. :)
+SCE2AUX2 Woow
+JackM12345100 lol true that book is old af
*****"Watership Down" was a Richard Adams novel about rabbits. It was later made into an animated film - which is really not for little children.
+SCE2AUX2 Lol..
Whats the music in the second half
Moby - Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
That lieutenant colonel is such a badass.
Best character in the movie.
Might be one of the greatest movies I have ever seen, I don't think I can watch this movie once without crying!
what is the song from 0:30?
+EvelynDanciu Handel - Sarabande
props to somalia though. a third world country that really showed that america isnt superpower. looked at their history. they arent people to joke with..they fought soviet union. british. italian... spain and portugal in the 1600's i mean.
america before invasing ahould at least look at the profile history of these countries before going on.
if America went in full strength they wouldn't have lasted. They had a handful of soldiers and these guys were some of the elite! and able to hold off an entire city
if America went in full strength they wouldn't have lasted. They had a handful of soldiers and these guys were some of the elite! and able to hold off an entire city
vicinalhalo Hold off what?? Are you serious now? What do you think this is? Computer games? U.S got fucked up and this event only lasted hours not even 24 hours?
You came, you saw, you ran away with casualties. Period.
What does computer games have to do with this? We came to capture a warlord? He ended up dying, the country still stayed like shit? The obviously weren't going to accept democracy so we left. We wouldn't force it upon them, we didn't "lose" they didn't even face a taste of the full military firepower. They could be easily wiped out but America isn't like that. But I get what you are saying. They held off damn well, especially against elite soliders. But lucky the Americans didn't have artillery or land armored vehicles
vicinalhalo Who ended up dying?? This is why you are fully ignorant about this. Go and read more. Aidid never died you idiot. He was alive even when you left.
I absolutely love this movie. I have so much respect for soldiers
ONE OF THE BEST WAR MOVIES OUT THERE
who is real super power USA or Somalia
nobody
We are super power USA and other coutries they are shit
Dood Daaj Hahahahahahaha...keep believing that. If political correctness and morals weren't a thing then we would've just bombed the bad parts of Somalia.
+ZXTMA Smith And have what happened in Iraq happen in Somalia? Have you not learned from history?
Alfred Abraham Well what exactly are you talking about? The Mujaheddin?
man i love when the Somali bring the black hawk down
Jonah Lewis Wooow so guys want the american to kill the somalian in their own country . Like seriously some somalian are wrong there and i hate it but i don't think american going there " to try to help " is gonna make it better all of us know that reality check they only want the oil ...
This movie is 16 years old now but still holds up massively well!
The best trailer movie ever.
For anyone saying the U.S rangers and Air Force Pararescuemen who fought in the battle of Mogadishu are not heroes, or at least were on the same level as the Somalian militia clearly are two ignorant to know the facts. These soldiers went to war against Mohamed Farrah Aidid (and of course the supporters) who had starved roughly 100,000 civilians. They didn't intend to fight the whole town they merely wanted to capture Mohamed Farrah Aidid. in order for them to do this roughly 3000 Somalian militia were killed. they were killed to stop more deaths. To call those 18 U.S soldiers who died and those who fought anything but heroes is just wrong ( also 1 Malaysian and 1 Pakistani soldier).
Excellent post
I'd highly recommend this one for anyone interested in war movies. Beware of some gruesome scenes though. This movie is not holding back on anything.
One of the only movies that actually made me cry.
i saw that movie just yesterday and it´s definitely one of my favourites, excellent!!
That's it!
Thank you so much :D
Thank you soldiers.
The Best War Movie I've Ever Seen ! .
This is one of the best movies i have ever seen!
the best, if not the greatest war movie i have ever seen.. not to mention the soundtrack suits it soo much! genius movie regardless of true event or not!
THE BEST war movie ever made
"Nobody let that man crawl! Somebody help that man!"
Sums it all up right there.
One of the best movie I've ever seen!
That is a selfless act when you are willing to put your life on the line without hesitation to protect others. Those are the types of people you keep & want in your life. You can't put a price on HONOR!
One of the best trailers i have seen
This movie made me cry! It's soo inspiring !! I love this movie!;(
This, tears of the sun and saving private Ryan are the best war movies to me
Best war movie ever i 've watched.
Any combat veteran would tell you that a soldiers basic load (for an infantryman 180 to360 rds of 5.56 mm) would be woefully insufficient under such intense battle conditions .although director Scott did a great job he is remiss in neglecting to show the constant resupply drops necessary to ensure the continued survival of those men. Oh yeah an infantry squad has two m203 grenadiers (an m16 with attached 40 mm grenade launcher ) of which you see in the movie but are used only once although there are targets everywhere. But even with the glaring errors I still love this film. As a former airborne infantryman with combat experience I hope ridley scott will try harder next time
I think this is the first time I feel a trailer fell short on the movie and not the other way around.
"Oh yeah. Hell yeah." Love Ewan McGregor!
Who still miss this movie
We always watch this film after playing C&C Generals. We saw a bunch of what we thought back then a References from the game such as the Technicals, Rangers, Rebels, Angry Mob, Humvee and Comanches.
watching it with surround sound turned up high... the bullets whizz by your head... brilliant film.
In my opinion both are awesome, my favourite movies.
I began to tear up at 1:39, that scene always makes me cry.
I want to cry because the one who saved the US army was Malaysia but the real story was not told :’)
I STILL REMEMBER THIS!!! I watched it on the movies, then HBO, then the game for Xbox original :)
Thanks! I will give it a try this weekend :D
After watching this movie i thinking how ww2 soldiers fought continuously 6 years.
respect to all soldiers who died in battlefield for their own people.
from Bangladesh
Fuck America..They got what they deserved. And that’s why Somali people are lions of Africa.. and proud🇸🇴❤️💪
orlando bloom and josh hartnett? holy crap! my fav two actors in one film!!!!
My favourite line is "Black Hawk down I repeat Black Hawk down"
THIS MOVIE IT'S THE BEST MOVIE I EVER SEEN, I CAN SEE THAT MORE THAN 10 TIMES !
best war movie of all time, along with Act of Valor.
one of the best war movies ever made
Agreed. I think Jerry Bruckheimer, Ridley Scott, and Steven Speilberg should team up and make the list of best war movies 3 movies long :)
God Bless our military and all those who protect the good against the bad. The evils of this world are dealt by force and when they are dealt with, we all sleep easier and safer then the day before.
Twombly doesn't look like Tom Hardy at all. But I was really surprised. Tom Hardy is such a great actor.
Everyime I watch this film I always recognise at least one new actor that I didn't realise was in this. Strucker is played by the dad from Cougar Town and Ty Burrell (dad from modern family) is one of the PJs that rope onto Super Six Ones crash site. This film gets better each time I watch it!
best trailer i've ever seen..
Thank you!
This is my favorite movie cuz its looks so real and its based of a true story
