A tutorial we all deserve. All required setup includes from camera to grading. After post, it actually doesn't looked 1080p cam. Superb video Bro.
Best footage so far out of a Runcam Thumb. I'm looking into this cam and have checked numerous other youtubers to see what this camera is capable of. Thank-you.
Mr Pashee kill the game for the thumb video quality 👌🏼🚀😍
Great video thank you. Nice to find someone who knows a bit about creating cinematic footage.
спасибо за этот офигенный гайд и проделанную работу. действительно подарок для того, кто ищет подобную информацию.
Thanks for sharing! Awesome video! We will share it on our page!
I love this little thing, im using it mostly on small planes. You can’t beat it for the money but it’s also as light as running a split cam. Thanks for sharing everything, your footage looks great
Awesome, thanks for sharing the settings! The post-production footages are incredible imo in terms of the price of the camera! Cheers!
I like your video, really good quality. This is the one I'm looking for to know the full potential of the camera.
Very very impressive! You've sealed the deal for me to get the thumb!
This is a wonderful video. I love the post-production result you can get with the camera!! Thank you for sharing your tips for the edits!! Great job, subscribed, excited for more videos coming.
Nice work and Thanks for the Tips
Wowww..excellent video and precious tutorials..and this music..it’s perfect for this video .
Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
Been looking for advice like this, thanks!
Very well made video. Precise and very useful.
Thank you for sharing I had to make a copy so I have it when I change SD cards. Again thanks
Thanks for the mount i printed in tpu worked out pretty good.
Thank you very much h for sharing your settings
Pretty good video!
beautiful video! thanks for the davinci workflow
Very nice tutorial.
Wow ikaw na pre
Nice work, buddy. Looks like a real cinematic intro cut. If only 24fps could be possible. BTW I checked the bitrate, both of 60 fps and 30 fps recorded in 18Mbps. That's the question.
Hi. Bit rate is a bit per second. So it's twice higher for 30p because of twice lower frame quantity. There is a huge difference. But 18bit is still too low for 1080p
@@MrPashee Yes, in theory 30fps clip should be doubled than 60fps clip but you can check through some player which shows real time bitrate. And all the files are recorded in 18Mbps. I think thumb records in its' max limitation of bitrate all the clips.
Really nice, just a small tip, brightness doesn't affect footage if you change the exposure value, also for grading it's better to go with saturation 2 :)
I asked several people at runcam, and sadly this thumb can't do more than 18mbs - sensor can't output more, so we will have to wait for second gen... It can't do 4:3 either, since it is 16:9 sensor, iso limit or manual shutter speed settings could be possible to add in software update tho.
I usually use lower saturation when see a lot of over-saturated places. On my vectroscope it seems to be flat enough. We don't need too flat image with so low bitrate. About exposure/brightness still can't understand their logic but these values seems to work good for me. As far as I see, exposure here is a EV correction and brightness is maximum value of brightest area.
@@MrPashee I've done some testing today, brightness seems to be some kind of contrast setting, you want it set to default for most raw output, also saturation is perfect when set to 2, at 3 I was getting weird mushy colors of grass, flowers, houses... also was harder to color correct in post, here are some screenshots: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S7zgLwdY6QGKFXNPo4x7SRtFruDhJ0La?usp=sharing
@@flowrfpv I also noticed that lowering the contrast didn't raise the dynamic range. It's just clipping dark and white areas with no information in these areas. Maybe I will try again with more sunlight. I usually have time in the evening and the saturation didn't crushing my image. :)
@@MrPashee yes, I also found that contrast at 1 doesn't give any more dyn range than contrast at 2, although you want brightness at 5, since you need this flat, clog look for most luts these days, so this less contrasty image is more practical for color grading
fantastic work!
Хм.. камера не ахти какая но у тебя получилось вытянуть из неё максимум что можно..
Респект )
Nice video
Hey MrPashee I was super impressed with the quality of your video and ended up grabbing one and trying to implement your settings. Two questions, I can't seem to make any improvement setting manual sync points versus auto, can you elaborate more on that? And lastly, there seems to be a very consistent amount of jitter is that kind of just what we have to expect with this price point?
Auto sync didn't analyze quantity of motion, it just divide video in few parts and set points by timing. In this part of flight there might be no rotation at all and Gyroflow cannot set correct time shift for gyro data. This will lead to more shakes and jitter. What about second question, I think there is a cheap gyro inside and it catches a lot of high-frequency noise... I will try to test it with my Cinelog30 next time. It have very good dampeners.
Wow
I really learned something, thanks, just subs
excellent
I am new to the drone community so a have one question. How I can access this settings in the video for the runcam thumb?
All settings are on a micro SD card. For Thumb Pro you have to download app for your smartphone.
great video. look so good👍
Very nice thank you
I was with you until 3:00 then you went into Da Vinci Resolve. Can I benefit from what you showed before that or were those settings only for those who will use a more sophisticated final editor?
You can use any editing/color grading software. Almost the same process with color wheels and sharpening in Premiere / FinalCut / Vegas etc
very nice!
Will running these settings work for an fpv plane running in waypoint mission mode? No flips or rolls.
Yes
Thank for sharing
+1👍 💪
Perhaps Runcam should provide a ND32 filter instead of 16.
Thank you for sharing this. *EDIT* (When I look at the gcsv file all the data is 0, I think my gyro is dead?)I am having trouble with me Runcam Thumb not displaying any optical flow data when I import the video file into Gyroflow, have you ever heard of or seen this? I get the gyro data file, but the xyz axis data is all flat in the video file. Your video is very beautiful, I appreciate the work that went into making it.
Hello! Thank you for kind words! My very first footage captured with Thumb has empty GCSV too, next was ok. GCSV records correctly only in 1080 30/50p, check this as well.
@@MrPashee thank you, I have those settings as you have suggested, I have many clips and all of them are empty. Runcam has responded to my support ticket and are sending me a new camera.
I cant open my mp4 files on Davinci Resolve. Something about frecuency.
It asking to change the framerate of project to framerate of video. It's ok, just agree.
How would I power this camera using 1s batteries?
Almost every FC have 5V output. You can also use DC-DC step-up converter. It's about 2 bucks.
@@MrPashee hey sorry I'm a noob when it comes to this. Do u have any videos or where I can learn to do this?
@@nerassurdo search on your drone's Flight controller board for a empty 5v and a empty ground pad. Solder the red wire to the 5v pad and the black wire to gnd.
@@TheCivildecay thank you, someone else said I will need a BEC to do this
hi friend how to connect runcam thumb on FC ? have a external BEC booster for voltage ? or FC onboard have a 5v ? could you share ?
Hi. I powered it from balance wire of a battery via DC-DC step down BEC.FC have 5v but not sure is it have enough power for this camera.
Night shot are still good sir for this setting ????
I think nothing helps this tiny camera to shoot in low light😂
@@MrPashee yes, very noise 😁 ... But thq ya
is gyroflow not supported in window 7,i3?
It's working even with Android now. I think must be no problem with i3 but without external video will be slow.
@@MrPashee app link or name please.
Have you modded the mount on yyour beta95x?
Yep. Using a nylon screws
как ты добился такого изображения? На всех обзорах картинка мутная и слабая, а у тебя как гоу про.
Все показываю в этом же видео, смотри до конца.
@@MrPashee да, прошу прощения, я поторопился не досмотрев написал комментарий
can you upload the config file somewhere?
Ok, will do a bit later

Hi friend could you share cam and drone outview picture ?
Hi, Bro! I sold both drone and this camera year ago. Now I'm using Walksnail Avatar digita system drones.
@@MrPashee excellent friend. Thank you
@@MrPashee could you recommended cetus pro and runcam pro ? İ think ordering ?
Shapness 1?? How much more Shapness , better!!
this video got me to buy this cam. spent too mcuh time trying this camera is garbo. allmost unusable to me it so unstable on a brand new quad perfect balanced props. terrible
Do you mount it directly or through the dampers? It's very important to kill as much vibrations as you can but gummies must be hard enough so camera will not shake. Camera have very cheap gyro so this is important how you mount it.
@@MrPashee the tpu mount it came with. spent to much time messing with footage for what I paid. Its on the shelf now made my eyes hurt trying.
