Librarians can help you learn how to reference! I was a librarian for over 10 years before I started my own business - and that is just what we do!! Or there are writing centers too, usually, on college campuses. There are also online resources through the library paid for online databases that give you the reference in whatever format you choose. Itâs never too late to swing by and chat with a librarian about references (even Junior Year) - they can make it easier for you!!

I personally do all my referencing manually, but know a lot of people who use the free Mendeley software - might be worth a try next semester?
Mendelay is great, Iâve used it for years and is especially great for long/big projects

Referencing is such a pain, like I didnât know how to reference properly until I studied Sose in year 8 and the teacher I had for that one I ended up having for the rest of high school and he taught me how to correctly reference. Though I was particularly better at one style compared to the other that was used by other teachers and used mostly when I was at Uni haha

I studied within 3 different schools, and each had their own citation. This was all at university, I was in school of social studies, school of theology and school of education. I dropped education in the end though!
I was able to swap my degree type quite late, so it's not impossible. However I was in NZ!
We didnât properly learn how to reference either at my high school. Big shock when I started uni to find out what I had been doing at school was completely different đŠ

I might be a little late with this comment, but can be useful in the future. As someone who has written quiet a few science papers and tried different types of referencing. I can tell you the least complicated one is Harvard style referencing. You skip all of those ⌠complicated steps and it actually looks nicer. That is of course if you can choose what kind of reference style you can use in your essay/paper, but most published papers today use Harvard style or styles that are similar to that.
