yea i was thinking that was more sad than anything. we need to promote jobs like nursing so ppl dont have to do 30 plus hour shifts.

Thing simillar to this happen to me as well, there is a certain habit where the worker have to point out 3 directions and say "yos!" while crossing a way in our office since it is a huge manufacture to make sure we don't get hit by a forklift or truck passing. I sometimes do this thing as well unconciously in any streets outside our office, and yea it is embarassing 😅
The nurse trying to “badge in” at her house instead of at the hospital where you scan your badge to let you in secure areas means you’re SO TIRED you forget where you are! Done that many, many times!!!! 😂😂😂

Awe, that's so sad. She looked so tired and burnt out. That little scowl and shake of her head when she realized why the door wasn't just opening for her said it all. I've done similar silly things, like pointed my key fob for my car at my door handle.

It happened to a friend of mine when she had a few too many deaths, along w/ doing palliative care nursing, and she ended up having to leave nursing unfortunately. It takes a special kind of person to do that job, and still love it. I know I couldn't, so hats off to you.
I work in a courthouse and often try to use my work badge at my daughter's school lol. They have the same little badge panels!

It reminded me of the time I went to the wax museum in NY city wearing a skirt outfit. At one point I was standing by an exhibit of the old West looking at it and when I moved, someone nearby jumped and said, "Oh, I thought you were part of the exhibit!"

When I was a kid living out in the country, and my dad was just finishing doing detail work on his motorcycle, someone threw their trash out the window and landed in the driveway. In a jiffy, he grabbed the trash, jumped on his motorcycle and caught up with the car at a stop sign a mile away and threw the trash back into their window.

However, perhaps the mother could not afford to get that toy, too. And that's why she put it back.
All children need to also learn that they can't always get everything they want, no matter how much they cry.
Otherwise they grow up expecting the world owes them everything, and don't learn the value of money.
Just putting this side of the situation out there.

A parent is the best person to decide what their kids can or cannot have.
As much as it may seem like a sweet gesture, it's just not acceptable for anyone to take it upon themself to buy some random crying kid a present, just because they want to look like some kind of hero samaritan.
It is good to do kind things, but sometimes, an outward kindness can counteract life lessons. Taking my sister to the store (big age gap between us), I would give her a budget to teach her how to manage money. Even very young. If she spent all her money in a previous store or on a different item, if discuss with her about how much the item cost and how much money she had and she would have to put the item back. If a random stranger bought her the item, it would go against the lesson we were trying to teach.
Bonus points for the mannequin man!!!! That was funny!

The one where the lady thought the man was a mannequin? I had that happen to me. I was standing inside a department store waiting for my sister. A woman starts fingering my coat, opening the lapels. Then she looked up (I’m tall) and realized I was an actual person. I had a good laugh!

I totally understand the trauma of the clip at 11:48 because my upright freezer does the same thing. It opens fine the first time but if you close it it will take a minute before you can open it again! The suction is just way too strong to open, close, and re-open immediately. My kid is the one who figured it out.
I worked at a place that had upright coolers, same thing happened
You have to push it and then pull it, that seems to be the trick. When you just try to pull the suction is too strong but if you push a little it releases some pressure so you can open it.
Or try and put your finger tips in between the rubber on the inside door frame, and with your other free hand, GENTLY pull the door open from the top corner. That will help to release some of the pressure that is holding the door closed. I've done that for years with my freezers.
Yep, it's because of the accordion magnetic strips around the edge of the door. When it closes it forces the excess air out and and creates a vacuum holding the door tightly shut, it takes a few seconds or a minute to gradually equalize.

As an RN I have most definitely exhaustedly tried to use my badge to scan into my car and my apartment as I am so used to scanning it for everything it’s just habit .. I have also mistaken someone else’s car for my own in the parking lot and have desperately tried to get into it before realizing and accidentally tried to get into somone else’s apartment (I’m 205 on the second floor but I instead went up to the third floor and tried to get into 305) .. I am a danger after night shift lol
