Another way is to let them hold onto your shoulder. but this only works for elderlies that still has a little muscle on them.

No way. Caregiver is not using a belt to protect her back. Patient is heavier than the Caregiver, lifting the patient is a no,no.

This is now not an acceptable method of transfer and has not been used for years and years.
