Hello and welcome to a vlog from weeks 20-22 of being pregnant. We have our second ultra scan, I'm working on lots of new knitting projects and trying to wrap my head around the fact that there's a new person that's going to enter our lives soon.

When I had my first baby my gynaecologist said "your world is about to revolve around a different axis" that sums it up so well as it's totally true
I have a son and the day he was born was the best day of my life. That was almost 22 years ago! The joy of being a mother is indescribable.
My son is also almost 22 y.o. !
I remember how I shed a tear when I first heard his heart beat when he was 10 weeks.
I was gonna write the same comment except my son is now 26!!! ❤❤He is the Best thing to ever happen in my life.
My son is 7 months old and I feel like I fell in love with him more and more each day! I ADORE him and being his mummy makes my life so worth living…it truly is such a joy 💙
I am 67yrs old, and my babies (both girls) are 28 and 30 yrs old this year. Being a mother was and still is the best part of my life. When they were babies and young children, those were the happiest years of my life. We are very close still and and see each other often. I hopefully will be moving closer to them later this year.
You and your husband look like very warm and loving people. I couldn't imagine a better family for your little boy. God bless you all 💝
Life is so different with children. But the good news is that in a lot of ways you get to decide how. No two families are the same and I am sure the three of you will make a perfect one!

Even as a granny, i look back on the day my eldest child was born as one of the happiest days of my long life. She was early, it was so much easier than I was expecting it to be.....happy, happy, happy. May it be for you as well.
Veronika I have never met you but tested two of your patterns and watched all of your videos. I say this as someone who cried with joy when you announced your pregnancy. One thing that kept hitting me during this (besides how totally adorable you are!) is that you did more walking in this video than I have probably done in a month. Everything is so spread out in the states, and most places don’t have great mass transit, so you have to drive everywhere.
My sisters and I visited Helsinki this past April and walked around most of the city in the afternoon. It's so walkable, on a much smaller scale, and beautiful! Plus, excellent transit!

Boys love their mommies so much! I have 3 - two teens and one grown and flown and being a mom is the best thing I've ever done.

I had two boys and a girl. Loved raising them, enjoyed it so much. Such a great time. Hearing the heartbeat for the first time was so magical. All the emotions you are feeling are perfectly normal. I remember having the same emotions. Life is definitely different after the baby comes, but it’s just a different chapter in your life that’s exciting and rewarding.

Utterly delighted and excited for you, Juki and your son on the way! Ultrasounds (ultra scans) are a miracle. In the 1950s (I was born in 1956) my mom got pregnant again 4 months after I was born and was getting twice as big (no ultra scans then) and then in 1957 it was time for the birth - out came a boy and 5 minutes later out came ANOTHER boy. Identical twins! We were practically triplets (13 months apart) and my mom had her family of a daughter and two sons. Such blessings! I am wishing you all the blessings - I am feeling all of the deepest hopes and dreams for you! P.S. That was a sweet surprise to see Sari Nordlund shopping with you, I did not realize that you were friends. I am knitting a pair of her lace socks just now in Tucson, Arizona where I live and it is so refreshing to feel all the Finland vibes! P.P.S. Looks like Seinfeld I caught a glimpse of on the TV ;-) and of late we have been watching Icelandic and Finnish shows with English subtitles. It's great to share.
I was born in the 1950s and because of my mother's age, the doctor had her go take an x-ray when she was 7 months pregnant. She went and got the x-ray and had an appointment with the doctor for the next day, but the doctor never saw the x-ray because I was born the next morning. I still have the x-ray, a head-up baby skeleton between pelvic adult bones.
I even cried a little bit - these moments are so touching and precious 💔Feel happy for you!✨

Oh how lovely! A little boy. I grew up with all sisters so when my first nephew came along I wasn’t quite sure what to do with him. Let me tell you, my nephews are so cuddly and affectionate, much more so than my nieces. The eldest is now 18 and he still gives me a cuddle whenever I see him. Whatever the gender, when they rest their little head on your shoulder and you feel their soft breath on your neck, you just melt. I have 10 nieces and nephews and they all have me wrapped around their fingers. ❤ I just adore them! What an amazing adventure for you and Juki, starting your family. 😊
As someone struggling with infertility I'm just crying through this whole video. I'm so incredibly happy for you, thank you for sharing so much of your journey with this. You guys are going to be great parents ❤

You describe pregnancy perfectly, it can be a roller coaster of emotions especially with the hormones. It’s very normal to be excited but scared at the same time. Your little boy will be the best dressed baby around 😊 I love all the cable knits ❤️

I was there for a few days till Sunday last week and during the video I said to myself 'oh, i was there!!' and 'I walked the exact same road!' - I guess this was just the little fan girl in me. When I was watching your ultrasound, and listening to the little heartbeat, I also started to have a little cry. For the beauty of your experience, and for the memory of my own experience when I went to get an ultrasound when I was pregnant. So amazing and special. I am happy for you. And enjoying being with my son who is now 13!

I have three boys and no girls. I was raised with 4 sisters and no brothers so it was definitely a new experience for me! I always wanted a little girl but now that I have my three boys I obviously wouldn’t change them for the world. They are so loving and so sweet. It’s just so much fun, you’re going to love it!

Of course I’ve changes but you can do anything you do now just with a baby which is a little more stress but you have a lovely husband to help you so together it is going to be so wonderful.

You are making me cry. This is such a sweet video! I grew up in a family of all girls (6 of us). My husband and I have raised two wonderful sons. I am a biased mother but boys are so much fun! We are finally getting our daughter as my youngest son is going to get married next year. The best thing you and your husband can do for you children is to take care of your marriage. Don't forget about your husband. And I hope your husband will understand how tired you will be. You both will be tired. Oh, the memories! 😍
I remember wanting to accomplish a lot of things before my baby was born, because I thought I’d never be able to get anything done - or buy anything again! Yes, Baby gets priority for a long time - as he should….but life goes on and you will still be YOU. Your incredible knitting skills, your relationship with your husband, your friends…all the other things that make you YOU, will still be there - some temporarily on the back burner, is all! Try, TRY to stop those scary imaginings when you have them…but it’s so NORMAL to be scared! It shows that you really care about being a good mother! I have one son and he still -at age 34- gives us so much love and joy!

To have these thoughts and feelings during pregnancy is pretty normal. It's a great adventure to become parents and it is quite normal to have fear sometimes. My daughter never wants to have children, but now she has a 8 week old baby girl and it is so cute to see both together. She is doing so well and I'm so proud of her. In case I thought I will never become a grandma. Wish you a wonderful time. Take care 🤗😊

as far as baby clothes - buy whatever brings you joy but in my experience all we used of his newborn and 0-6 month clothes were the pajamas & onesies LOL. he grew out of those sizes so quickly. good to have enough onesies/sleepers for a week plus extra for all the accidents they have haha but thats all you need for each range of clothes since you’ll be doing way more laundry than you’d think a little person can add 😂💛
as far as knitting babywear, I think people will often tell you it’s a waste of time because they grow out of it but it’s so so special to have your baby wear something you made. and baby knits work up so fast!!
a coming home outfit is all I would make for the teeny tiny days, and then a sweater sized for a 1yr, then a 2yr etc! I made an oversized sweater so that we could fold the sleeves and used it as an extra layer to toss over his outfits as he grew into it (to get more use out of it) and it was so cute and cozy.
you guys are the cutest! I have always loved your knitting videos but I have also enjoyed watching your lives journey. I'm very happy for both of you!

Awww ❤❤❤❤ You worry too much! Practically, your baby knows what to do but You can define every cell of the way. Enjoy every moment, because your worries will be passed down on the baby. It is a unique bond everything is the way it should be. You are a good mommy.

I have a son. He's my only child, although he's 25 now and no longer a child. We tried to get pregnant for 2 years, so he is the light of my life. I remember feeling that something bad would happen all the way through my pregnancy. I felt like I wasn't worthy enough to be carrying a little miracle. I think it's only natural to feel like that when you've waited so long and believed that it would never happen. 😊

I am sitting here nodding my head - all those thoughts you voiced are thoughts I had with my first baby. I’m pregnant now with baby #3 and pretty much exactly as far as you are. Also…your videos make me want to move to Europe. Such a slower pace than the US.

You will still b3 able to do all of the things you did before. You just make adjustments for the little lad. I was 29 when I had my first and the day before her birth, I said to my husband, “What if I don’t like the person we have to bring home.” I fell instantly in love with her and have never had such a love. She is 44 and I still can tear up when I think how precious and wonderful she is. Nothing is better in my life.

Congratulations to you and your families! Lil boys are amazing! The love between a mother and son is like none other. I had my son at 43 (after 10 years of trying, 16 years after my daughter) and I was anxious + worried a lot too. I think it is a natural response, especially when it is so challenging to conceive. Especially when we want them so badly! Mine is 5 this week and let me tell you those moments of overwhelming joy and happy tears hit me still.
I cried when you found out your baby is a boy! My 6 month old is also a boy and the light of my life. I am knitting him my first sweater ever, second one will be something for me. definitely want something nursing/pregnancy friendly.
Parenthood is a wonderful time. It is full of love and worry and joy. You will be good parents.
We are so thrilled for you! Any thoughts of “giving up” anything will disappear once your baby boy is born. The thoughts and emotions you are experiencing are totally normal. You are such a positive and energetic light! Keep thinking positive thoughts. Enjoy all the moments. Things will work out well.
About the clothes: Up till about 3 mos, they are very messy especially if you're breastfeeding. Sometimes it seems changing the diaper involves the whole outfit as well. This is why people get the little flannel nighties that open in the back and little jumpers with snaps. Quick change! A load of laundry each day. It's a good idea to concentrate your budget for cute, high quality stuff for when they're a little older.

I’m so excited for you. And just this weekend my son and daughter in law announced to us that they’re pregnant! I’ve been waiting so long for a grandchild. I can’t wait. I went right over to ravelry and began looking at baby patterns. There’s will be a summer baby so I have to make sure I knit for a 4-6 month old. And I am also knitting the Salty Days sweater. I’m just finishing the cables. Mine is a cobalt blue color…. Drops Daisy and Drops kid silk mohair. I’m also on sleeve island on the stripe hype sweater and it is because it is being knit in brushed alpaca silk healed double. It is like knitting with spider webs and it titers me out! So I need a break from it. But I will get it done soon.
The baby’s bed is like the one in our family that at least three generations used, including me, and then my two sons. It was shipped from state to state, as needed.

Do your best to live in the moment and enjoy the special time that is your pregnancy. Worrying about what could happen will steal your joy and is pointless since the future doesn't exist, the past is gone, but you have this time in the present and it is so good.

So natural to have all these emotions - and panic with movement, - you are so healthy, and sure this little guy will be a joy for you both and whole family. Try not to dwell on the scare of giving birth - just make sure all set up with Dr/Hospital before -
Congratulations on gender reveal. When you showed the ultrasound I closed my eyes and just listened. It took me back 33 years to my Sons heartbeat. Mom is who i wanted the most when i was pregnant. Mom can tell you how to take care of yourself. I seen the olive oil and remembered my friend said she used olive oil on her belly everyday of pregnancy.
