Genius! I have to install a rev kit on a SBC and couldn't figure out how to compress the springs without buying a small engine valve spring compressor. Thanks for saving me the time from having to make one.
I used to use 2 roughly same length screwdrivers! I'd put a head bolt wrongly in a hole in the head to hold the valve down by having part of the head turned where it sat on top of the valve, where it shouldn't have!.Finger tight.!
This was the Fix for my Robin engine. Other methods pushed the valve back in. I did hold the spring up to the cap with the keepers in place with a pick. Then, I cut the zip tie.
LOVE the organized tool box on the ground. Also did you ever think about those Chinese zip ties breaking and you had your fingers above the spring in the spring area? Wonder if it would hurt when the tie broke? Hmmmm. If you use your brain and think about it....... Hmmmm.
LOL!! I have a tendency to let it slip. Sometimes I don't even catch it till someone points it out! Hope you're well. Glad you got a chuckle! We all need more of that!
6 years on but thank you. Little tips like this is what youtube is best at.
The simplicity is top. I know i should use the proper tool but i rebuild so little that i think this will work fine.

for the one off job, that I may need to do.
Working one handed must be a nightmare, bad enough with two :)
Believe it or not... I do this regularly. Should really invest in a tool, but I get the zip ties for free :)
Awesome Thankyou
This looks like the cure for my ezgo golf cart engine valve springs.
Hope it works for you.

Congratulations! In 3 years you're the first dick! If you can do it better for less... Have at it jackass!
Buy good strength zip ties
Read on packaging
Could buy the tool too. amzn.to/46HzIck
how do you remove the valve spring?
There's a little keeper on the top.
It's like a slotted disc. If you have the spring compressed you can use a screw driver to push off the top.

I don't know why, but I laughed too much at Fuck Christ...
